I honestly liked the direct. I've made a list of what caught my eye under the spoilers:
  • Seeing Mario & Luigi come back after the death of AlphaDream honestly tugged at my heartstrings, it may be at the end of the Switch's lifetime but it's better "late" than never. I'm slightly saddened that Mario's voice still sounds off and that Luigi's "fearful voice" sounds like he's only mildly perturbed but it's only Kevin Afghani's second game AFAIK. I also love that we're getting more original characters and enemies here compared to the dumpster fire . I'll get it when it comes out in November since I'm a sucker for the series and I know Yoko Shimomura will have a hand in the game's soundtrack.
  • Nintendo World Championships NES Edition looks interesting but it's clearly designed for speedrunners, I would've liked it if the VS mode pitted people in real time but it uses ghost data. I'll skip it but I know some people will buy the special editions just to flip it.
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is honestly a nice thing to see, now all of the DKC titles are on one console and you don't have to carry around a 3DS. The fact that it's coming with with the 3DS levels intact is also a nice bonus. Now if only we got Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong 64, and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat on Switch too (The Konga titles would be too much trouble licensing-wise).
  • Super Mario Party Jamboree is a bit bittersweet. It's nice that the IP is still going but I hate the fact that they're continuing the often-bundled-with-other-items-because-no-one-wants-it Super Mario Party formula rather than sticking to Mario Party Superstars', even more so when you factor in the two returning Mario Party boards to the mix. I do like the fact that we're getting more playable characters (I noticed that Ninji popped up in a couple of scenes) and that we're getting a Battle Royale mode.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Echos of Wisdom looks interesting. I wasn't a fan of the art style when it was used in the Link's Awakening remake but I've warmed up to it since then.
  • I'm not exactly a big Metroid fan but I'm happy to see that Prime 4 finally has a proper release date after being delayed. 2025 seems far-off but it's entirely possible that it could release on the first-half of the year.
But those GameCube graphics, thought.:cryblood:
Models looks disguting.
I have a feeling that the game is still a work-in-progress but it being a third-party Switch game doesn't exactly inspire hope.

Just got alerted by a friend that after what? 5 years the Prime 4 trailer just dropped. Called it years ago that I'm getting cucked and this will be a launch title for Switch+1

- Graphics is alright. The most important elements are there
- Music and sound design seem shit. I was never a fan of the uncanny space pirate theme from Prime but this is borderline "turn that shit off" tier
- People called it YEARS ago that 4 will star Sylux as the bad guy. Did Retro seriously didn't have a better idea after all these years?

And where the fuck is the Echoes port? For fucks sake being a Metroid fag is constant suffering

Sylux being the next big bad was a thing since Prime 3 brother, unless you were too shit at baby's first fps to not get the after credits scene in prime 1 and 2

Looney Tunes game is being developed by Gamemill, same people behind the recent disaster King Kong game. It's safe to say it's going to look that way.

I figured it'd be better than a lot of you guys expected. This was even a bit better than I thought it'd be, a solid 7.5/10. New Mario & Zelda, plus DQ 1 & 2 remakes and DKCR HD. Fantasian is nice to see officially confirmed but it wasn't a surprise. Phoenix Wright is neat.

It'd be an 8/10 if they added some new content to DK, but it doesn't seem like they did, unfortunately. Still nice to have the definitive version of the game.

Was I seeing right? Gay nigger Hobbits?
6/10 from me. Half of it was shovelware. I don't care about DKCR being released for a third time. I don't care about the Zelda game or Mario & Luigi or Mario Party. That Farmalgia game was just Pokemon with farming. There was a lot of boring shit in this direct.

MP1 and 2? Hunters came after 1, and don't remember what happened if you 100% echoes anymore.

Sylux was "mentioned" if you 100% MP3, and by mentioned it was his ship flying by for a second in the very last ending scene. But my brother, MP3 was how many years ago? Not to mention that MP3 was shit compared to Echoes or 1.

I'm not saying what I'm seeing is completely irredeemable, I just hoped for something more and inspired after all these years of waiting.

the fact that mario and luigi isn't dead is all I needed, Direct was won right there
don't know how on earth I forgot that poor series in my wishlist but it made my day and I'm so happy

Question regarding the Marvel Vs. Capcom collection, are there any unwoke shit Capcom will try to erase from it like they did their previous Capcom collection?

In it, they changed Fei Kong’s Hong Kong flag to China and removed a secret risque ending from a Darkstalkers game. If there is any possibility of that happening again, I’m going to wait and see before I buy.

I'm keeping an eye on it as well, but so far they seem to be ADDING things to it rather than outright remove stuff. Website says they are adding secret characters in the roster that previously were not playable. Website even says which ROM version they are using, and some people so far have noticed the rom versions are the patched ones (meaning no wall infinites)

Only thing being removed is the white flashes that were in the originals, but even that is a setting where you can turn it on or off. Oh, and Norimaru from MSHvSF, but that's for obvious reasons.

I felt pretty burned by Super, but Superstars was great. I really liked Top 100 as well.
Super is either the worst good one or the best bad one depending on who you ask. I say the former, but I can see the argument for the latter. Even the logo looks like a placeholder.
I liked Top 100 well enough, but it really depends on how much nostalgia you have for the old minigames while Superstars, despite leaning more heavily into nostalgia, is good on its own merits. It’s what I would recommend to someone who’s never played a Mario Party (that or 3).

One board, ONE board. And a really bad one. This Nintendo direct really made everyone's standarts lower.

I fucking hate Gamers.

*Series sets up the next badguy*
"this person will be the next bad guy"
*Person is next Badguy*
"OMG GOD IT IS TERRIBLE THAT THIS PERSON THEY CLEARLY SET UP IS THE BADGUY!"

Well that Mario & Luigi game certainly could have used an different name, but something feels an little bit off about it. Otherwise, it's certainly worth getting. Metroid looked like an really bad parody of an boomer shooter. But the Zelda game is an giant red flag, considering how it's taking the same route as Super Mario Maker.
I wish they'd do real damn Mario & Sonic crossover instead of just sports.
The world isn't ready for that level of autism.
