It has been but those might just be dev units. I'd be shocked if the store elements weren't region locked, at least, for the purposes of international distribution agreements.

The technology exists, but there are some difficulties with consumer acceptance.Someone out there really needs to put more research into batteries. It's like all technology is improving but batteries are staying shit.
I'd be surprised if they do region locked considering large costumer backlash after the 3DS/WiiU. Also, one of the sources is a Nintendo employee (or claims to be, but they've been accurate) themselves, so I don't know why they would only have a dev copy.It has been but those might just be dev units. I dont think so. Most very popular games get dual releases and no one wants to play a game in a language dont understand. The region free thing will mostly be uses to import anime titty shit that doesnt get English ports.I don't think the backlash was all that large actually. It might have had vocal detractors online but ehh, I don't think it was widespread among the actual userbase. Furthermore, a large portion of that was directed more at NoA for pushing back release dates by months in order to fill schedule holes. If NoA wants consumers buying a game in September they most certainly are not going to want people to just go out and ebay the NoE version in May. Its an niche, enthusiast issue and always has been.
Here's when Nintendo's going to talk more about the Switch

Still think it sucks a little bit that we got to wait until next year but at least they gave us an exact date so we don't have to deal with rumors on what day they're going to reveal more info about the console.
Pretty sure we are getting that Mario game.
Playing zelda on the toilet?I'm curious to know what the exact appeal of a portable home console would be for you guys. It doesn't spark my interest because I'm never wandering around my house wishing I had my game with me instead of having to pause and get up. Is it because it saves having spend extra on a handheld for when you're out? Because I can get the appeal of just a powerful handheld you can plug into your TV, though I never bought handhelds or consoles for anything but exclusives.
Rumors seem to be pointing to that Mario footage they showed off being from a 64 style game that would release within the first year. Take them with a grain of salt I guess but those same rumor people turned out to be correct about pretty much everything else.A Mario game on a Nintendo system? NEVER!
The crowning achievement of mankind!Playing zelda on the toilet?
Apparently it will be a turn-based RPG similar to Fire Emblem. One of the rumors going on right now is that one of the launch titles will be a crossover between Mario and the Rabbids. Yes, those screechy proto-Minions are supposedly still relevant enough to be brought back.
Its been said by the people who were correct about all the other rumors, the gameplay we saw in the new trailer was from a news 3d mario game sinilar to 64/sunshine with the 3d environments and hub world. Its also said to be a launch title.Honestly, I just want them to make a Starfox game for it that ISN'T gimmicky.
Or a new, REAL Mario game that isn't a handheld game brought to console (3D land to 3D world)
