I got another one of those games where you print a manual out and use it while you play. This one is Madorica Real Estate and you are helping remove spirits from houses so that you can sell them. It's pretty alright. I like it! Another one of these games that I got was Stop Talking and Nobody Explodes which was also a good time. I've played it about three times, so not a ton. But we had a good time when people got together to actually do the thing.

Star Fox - Give them an open world Space title.
AWOOOO~~ no!! We have plenty of those. There aren't enough really good arcade rail-shooters in space. And if they stuck to an on-rails game in space, that's half the problems with the last few Star Fox games solved right away.

The switch had one hell of a run. Crazy that it might end up being the bestselling console ever after how poorly last gen went for Nintendo.
Nintendo is quite the strange company, especially looking at their current insanely successful business behaviour (Switch lifespan) and the juxtaposition in their contempt for the consumer. They had ups and downs, last gen was quite the enigma and maybe growing pains. 3DS took quite a while to start doing decent numbers. Wii U was a fucking disaster on a technical level, but the library is pretty great. Switch was business wise a stroke of genius, even though I would have preferred another blunder. I still can't imagine how Nintendo thinks they will be able to recreate roughly the same success with the Switch successor.

The only way they can match Switch 1 is by having an even better library, which shouldn't be hard to do in theory but probably won't happen in practice.

They came this far by combining the concept of a home console with a handheld. But what would you get if you combined a tablet controller, a VR headset, motion controls, and a Robotic Operating Buddy? An unstoppable juggernaut.

Looks like we're getting news about TTYD remake and LM2 HD sometime this week.

Last gen was a result of a changed/hostile market and Nintendo getting too complacent. The second half of the 7th gen and first half of the 8th was a timeframe in which western AAA took control and the industry and massive emphasis was placed on realistic FPS or open-worlds. Nintendo was widely received as kid's games because they didn't have a COD or GTA. Other then drop their family image and reinvent to be Activision/Ubisoft, there was no way Nintendo could functionally compete in the landscape. The hatred of Japanese developers and cartoon aesthetics in normies specifically targeted them.

In saying this, Nintendo also dropped the ball hard with U and 3DS. They sanitized the hell out of the Mario brand to be as generic as possible. Multiple franchises didn't make it to U with Animal Crossing being the most notable other then Zelda till the end of its life. A good chunk of the line up for both systems was mediocre/bad and sort of competed amongst themselves. Mario Kart and Smash felt interchangeable between the two consoles, and said entries were arguably worse then the Wii & DS that came before. Mario also competed against itself as New Sup and 3D games were also pretty interchangeable, along with Mario Party, Tennis, and others. Given that Mario was the bulk of both systems lineup, it was a bad era that had entries feeling worse than previous.

To give credit, the 3DS was great in reinvigorating Kirby, Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing. Outside of those, it really floundered everything else.

just realised it's not just 2.4m they're also going to stop offering yuzu and hand over yuzu-emu dot org to Nintendo that's fucking wild
Maybe I'm just some blue collar retard that's never had any dealings with the tech industry, but if you have 2.4 mil to hand over maybe they could've gave nintendo a decent fight. Just once I want to see these jap faggots get a good legal beatdown. These slants even won the drift lawsuit.

And Ryujinx will get off scot-free because… reasons? Guess I’ll just pirate all my Switch games going forward if they hate me and my money that much.
Seems to me Yuzu was the bigger fish and they just wanted to intimidate. Don't be surprised if they go after Ryujinx next though.

Hello yuz-ers and Citra fans:

We write today to inform you that yuzu and yuzu’s support of Citra are being discontinued, effective immediately.

yuzu and its team have always been against piracy. We started the projects in good faith, out of passion for Nintendo and its consoles and games, and were not intending to cause harm. But we see now that because our projects can circumvent Nintendo’s technological protection measures and allow users to play games outside of authorized hardware, they have led to extensive piracy. In particular, we have been deeply disappointed when users have used our software to leak game content prior to its release and ruin the experience for legitimate purchasers and fans.

We have come to the decision that we cannot continue to allow this to occur. Piracy was never our intention, and we believe that piracy of video games and on video game consoles should end. Effective today, we will be pulling our code repositories offline, discontinuing our Patreon accounts and Discord servers, and, soon, shutting down our websites. We hope our actions will be a small step toward ending piracy of all creators’ works.

Thank you for your years of support and for understanding our decision.

The Github repo is also completely fucking gone since half an hour or so. Fuck Nintendo.

Oh fuck me Citra too? Jesus Christ why don't they just use the Yuzu site to post pics of them sucking Miyamoto's dick?

Why does every Megacorp (Coke, Google, etc) seem to be able to get sued by every Karen and lolcow on the planet and still lose multiple class actions and/or settle out of court to avoid a loss, but nintendo can do whatever the fuck they want? How does dear feeder fundraise 150k and now every saboteur cockroach shuts the fuck up?

John Nintendo held a gun to this man’s head and forced him to type this.

Citra isn’t shutting down, these specific devs just aren’t going to work on it anymore (for what it’s worth).

Because Yuzu themselves werent completely clean, so it wasnt ever going to be an open and shut case and nintendo had real grievances that could be argued in court. Meaning that Yuzu would either lose, or the legal battle would be so protracted that they end up in poverty before the case ever actually came to a conclusion. Nintendo wanted yuzu gone and that is what they got. To answer your 150k, most of the anti kiwi farms people are losers with no money, so theyd have no money for a law suit, while 150k is a nice war chest to have. Even if they had more financial backing most people dont want to waste considerable amounts of money and time on lawsuits.
