That was a pretty bad direct
Yeah this is dogshit. They should call it the shovelware direct. I don't know why you nerds are gushing about the 3DS looking JRPG slop.

Penny shadow-drop was cool. I didn't know World of Goo 2 was going to be a Switch exclusive. And it's cool that we got a release date for Pepper Grinder. Three games we already know about doesn't justify a 20 minute presentation, Nintendo.

It's gonna have to be a really badass Nintendo Direct after this lame Partner Direct to make up for it... They're probably banking on Pokemon carrying them, just there's not much they could announce in the Pokemon Presents or whatever it's called that I'd be interested in.

Maybe adding gen 1 & 2 to NSO, that's about it.

Physical copies are apparently hard to find, so take that for what it’s worth.
I did read that, and it took forever for my copy to arrive, so it is a good sign.

Before the Switch is retired, what are the final 3DS games that need to be rescued from the heap?
proffesor layton series, animal crossing new leaf (screw new horizons) and happy home designer, tomodachi life, new style boutique series and rhythm heaven
we had it all with the 3ds, man....and playing online was free... *sigh* and it was the perfect size to carry...

I respect for Nintendo for making people wait 2 months for a Direct and coming out with this shit. But I really hope they have something planned this year aside from the Peach game.

Not that I'll mind since I will be playing the Peach game to see Peach in a swimsuit.

There will be a regular Direct at some point. I'm sure it'll be pretty solid, probably going out with a bang.

Do you mean the mermaid one? I don't remember a swimsuit.

Everyone complaining, meanwhile I am sitting here after getting the biggest W I can receive from a Direct. For anyone who doesn’t care, at least take this as a sign that Nintendo is willing to dip more into their obscure back catalog. In the past two years they have brought back a GBA series (Advanced Wars), a DS/Wii series (Another Code) and now Wii (Endless Ocean). Plus it is highly likely there will be a 2nd DS series with Hotel Dusk.

If anything, what series do you guys want back given the trend. My hopes are for GCN next. While not my favorite system, it would be criminal to let Chibi-Robo, Cubivore, Eternal Darkness, and other originals rot there. Some other series that may be worth bringing back are Nintendo Land, Custom-Robo, Golden Sun, Starfy, or any of the 3DS titles previously mentioned.

Happy birthday my man.
Thank you

Nintendo never really goes out with a bang unless it is a dual release (typically Zelda) with the next console. This year will probably be a dead year besides Pokémon and the few remakes. It fits with the ending to consoles like the Wii. Then comes a new system in March.

Mother 3 finally got a NSO release.....

Edit: another actually funny ResetEra meme

You laugh, but Switch Online is region-free meaning WE FINALLY GOT MOTHER 3 IN THE WEST BAYBEEEEEEEEEEEEE

IT’S OVER
WE FUCKING WON
WE CAN FINALLY GO HOME

Nintendo would find some way to screw up a modern localization so this is the most I was hoping for

If this isn't a sign that people will need to emulate/mod their consoles in order to play the english romhack I don't know what is. Mother fans that never played Mother 3 because of the "ethics of emulation" will die of old age before an official translation will ever be considered.

That's a great point, and I'm very glad to see them doing this much more recently.

Star Fox (Adventures sequel/remaster), Donkey Kong (new 3D game), and Mario & Luigi.

I guess it depends on what you consider a bang. The last year before a system's successor looks pretty darn strong for a few of their systems, most notably GBA, but that was an odd situation.

GCN had a last year full of obscure titles and a Zelda game shared with Wii. Wii was one I remember being dead within its last year beyond a Kirby collection. Wii U certainly had a rough last year beyond BOTW, which like GCN, was shared. The only modern exceptions were 3DS and GBA, both of which are distinct in being fallbacks to a risky new system, with GBA not even being considered to be replaced by DS till DS became a mega-hit. DS also seems to have a decent last year, maybe it is just the handhelds.
