Everyone complaining, meanwhile I am sitting here after getting the biggest W I can receive from a Direct. For anyone who doesn’t care, at least take this as a sign that Nintendo is willing to dip more into their obscure back catalog. In the past two years they have brought back a GBA series (Advanced Wars), a DS/Wii series (Another Code) and now Wii (Endless Ocean). Plus it is highly likely there will be a 2nd DS series with Hotel Dusk.

If anything, what series do you guys want back given the trend. My hopes are for GCN next. While not my favorite system, it would be criminal to let Chibi-Robo, Cubivore, Eternal Darkness, and other originals rot there. Some other series that may be worth bringing back are Nintendo Land, Custom-Robo, Golden Sun, Starfy, or any of the 3DS titles previously mentioned.
New Monkey Ball game as well. Really getting the 2000s band back together.
Hopefully a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game gets announced next week too.

The Vanillaware game also looks nice.

Seems like half of those supposed XBOX games aren't coming to Switch. Probably for the best, it'd probably implode trying to run Hi-Fi Rush with all the moving parts in each level.

Any of you faggots have tried the Unicorn Overlord demo? Really interested in it.

As for the direct, there was some interesting stuff in the indie section, the Crab game I saw showcased by Iron Pineapple and it sounded surprisingly good. But yeah, being honest, outside of Unicorn and the Gundam game, nothing got much of a rise from me.

I'm fine with that. Are the characters interesting or have some charisma? And do the mechanics feel? Is it too complicated or too simple?
Basically, it's mainly your typical FE archetypes, but with VannilaWare's jiggle physics attached to them. Combat is mainly trying to accumulate enough points to steamroll the opposition. The complicated stuff is min-maxing the skills, though.

Other than that, it's fairly straightforward if you saw that Tactic Orge thread, an while back

give it 10 to 15 years, wouldn't be shocked if Nintendo was making original movies. And for a number of years they have been licensing out ip to toy makers for a good success, I could very much see they at some point cutting the middle man out and doing it themselves.
That would require a MAJOR change in how Nintendo does business. Due to the immense amount of capital that would be necessary to break into those industries, the only way Nintendo could conceivably do it in a realistic timeframe and fashion would be via Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). Historically, Nintendo has been hesitant, nearly outright opposed, to engaging M&A, and has only done it sparingly. Nintendo has engaged in it slightly more than usual, which is to say, at all, in the last 10 years, but to successfully break into those businesses, they'd need to pull of a major M&A, which hasn't been in their DNA up till this point.

That was a pretty bad direct... The only thing interesting in the least was Ender Magnolia, some random anime Metroidvania with nice art. Killer Instinct on NSO was more hype than anything which is kinda...yeah.
I told you guys not to expect much.

For all of you who saw something you specifically liked in this direct, more power to you. But this direct was a weak waste of time. I have no faith in them announcing anything else major for this year. I know this direct only covered the first half of the year, but even taking that into account, there was nothing to write home about. At the end of the day, the Switch is at the end of its life cycle, and if they pushed the successor back to next year, I imagine all the big releases also got pushed back, since they will want to save them to be crossplatform releases, at least, if not outright move them over to the successor console. So nobody should get their hopes up for any big releases.

Eiyuden Chronicles comes in April and Suikoden is coming this year (supposedly) so I'm good.
