I'll always remember playing a whole lot of shovelware as a kid. Stuff like Spiderman 2, SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom and Simpsons Hit and Run were not only kino licensed games, but they were some of my favorite games I ever played back in the day.
Oh yeah, Spider-Man. This is an unpopular opinion probably, but Spider-Man was better in 2D than 3D. I rented Maximum Carnage and War of the Gems constantly, the latter technically not being a Spider-Man game but I always played as him.

If we're still talking about some good license games, I have a soft spot for Mario Kart clones such as Lego Racers, Nicktoons Racing, Cartoon Network Speedway, Star Wars Racers, Muppet RaceMania, etc.
I was shocked by the quality of Ben 10: Galactic Racing. I have zero interest in that IP and have no idea why I played it, but I did, and beat the whole thing.

It's a balance for me. I do have a soft spot for 2D era Spiderman, and Maximum Carnage has been one of my favorites

F-Zero 99 got another update: Frozen Knight League, the first five tracks gets a snow theme (Mute City becomes White Land lol), slip zones added, and bumpers get cute little antlers.
See, I like when developers do cute random shit like this. It makes games more interesting and you have a reason to come back to them (even if you already were)

If we're on the topic of licensed PS1 games, I feel obligated to recommend checking out Looney Tunes Sheep Raider.

You'd think it's shit.

But no, they made a better stealth game than Metal Gear or Splinter Cell in the world of Looney Tunes characters Ralph Wolf and Sam Sheepdog.

I don't know what it was about PS1 but the creativity of game developers seemed to just peak there; late 90s bubble, CD technology, new 3D graphics, a huge install base, cheap per-unit cost, or a combination of the above just made for some really special results.
I agree, Sheep Raider is excellent and actually worth playing. It's fun and creative.

Late and gay, but I finally beat Mario Wonder 100%. Pretty comfortable saying it's better than all the New games, but I found the bosses lacking and I thought it was easier to 100% than games like 3D Land and 3D World. Not sure if I like it more than 3D World or not yet. It really reminded me of 3D World and they kind of did the thing 3D World did where every level had a gimmick and turned it up to 11. I need to replay 3D World in the New Year. I haven't played it since the Wii U days.

Life may suck, but if you take a 15-30 minute walk outside, you can easily get rid of the negativity.
... For awhile.

Another thing I like doing lately is Google Maps and digitally exploring places I used to live or visit regularly, and when possible even using different capture dates to see how they changed over time.

Problem with all of these is when its over, I go right back to being miserable. It's a "what now?" like feeling where basically its like "that was nice, too bad its over." And of course you can't keep it up perpetually because then it stops being good.

It's the same deal as with video games actually. After awhile they just become routine.

.... and I'm posting all this in a Nintendo Switch thread for some reason.

I thought of adding addiitonal sadbrains thoughts to keep this post relevant but they felt forced, so fuck it.

I was just thinking about sadposting in this thread too, so what the hell.
The important things in my life right now are fine, but I need and want to ultimately get married and start a family of my own. The problem is, I don’t really have any real life friends that aren’t family. Hell, the Farms are probably the closest thing I have to online friends; I’ve never tried forming deep connections with people through forums, and the weight of this realization makes everything else in my life less fun, like I’m just killing time and trying to forget.

Whenever I see a story about how someone found their significant other through a forum, I feel empty inside because I feel like I missed out. And when I think “it’s not too late” and go back to one of those old forums, I find that the current users are all some variation of Current Year snowflake. On the rare occasion I find a girl on a dating site who shares my interests, she’s some kind of Tumblr hippie who has nothing else in common with me, especially considering I want a wife who’s also Christian and at least politically moderate, if not conservative.

(Side note, the “nerdy” interests of girls on dating sites are almost exclusively some combination of Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars. Every. Single. Time. And to my knowledge, there isn’t a single dating site where you can simply search by interest.)

I realize this all boils down to the extremely pathetic question of “how 2 find gamer gurl gf”, but I feel like this was so much easier ten years ago and I just took for granted that it would always be that way. I just want to find a woman who shares both my worldview and my hobbies.
