Another possibility is the 8BitDo SN30 Pro Plus, for playing games that require motion controls (BOTW for example)... there's an add-on you can buy that lets it clip to the Switch tablet.

I would recommend the Pro 2 over the Pro Plus myself. The face buttons on the Pro Plus ended up sticking for me over time, but the Pro 2's been holding out way better.

I've had my Hori Pro Controller the entire time I've owned my Switch (since 2017) and I love it. I don't use my Switch in handheld that much and never use the joycons at home.

I didn't even know there was a new version. Interesting. Looking at Amazon the big thing I notice is that now there's an actual physical switch to tell it you want it to be in Switch, D-Input etc. mode whereas on the Plus you had to hold down a button while powering it up.

E3 was only good before youtube took off tbqh

Once every company knew they were being watched by millions, it became a complete shit show. For just how behind Nintendo seemed to be with everything Internet related, they seemed to know right away how useless E3 was in the age of Youtube and Streaming.
 
It would've been nice if there was some sort of tour of the original E3. Like, the conference goes across to many different cities so that the people near those cities can check it out and try out the shiny new hardware and upcoming games.

That was a good E3. I'd help you out with more but I'm on another PC right now.

On controllers and drift, I bought one of those new NYXI hyperion pro controllers with the hall sensors. It's an alright controller. Worst part is the way the plastic feels and the buttons seem cheap. It's alright. No real answer for Nintendo's controllers though. Their old pro controller works okay.

That may have been the case in 2020 and beforehand, but I doubt virtually anyone thinks like this these days, considering the Switch games which could be found in supermarkets and retailers, the Directs, etc. Nintendo Japan also doubles down further by showcasing plenty of titles in the official blog for extra advertising.

Though it's still impressive how much third-party support there is on a Nintendo console, and effectively replace Playstation for me as a result.

Yeah, the massive library of the Switch is held back by an eshop that is not optimized to skim through such large amounts of titles. Anyone here can check on dekudeals, gaming news websites, etc. to separate the wheat from the chaff. But for a console with a huge userbase, Nintendo is hampering their potential by making it so that any parent or youngster trying to scroll through categories will get bored after a few minutes due to lag alone.

That's fine. I'm primarily into Japanese vidya as you could see but the Switch also gives me the opportunity to try out (or replay) indies too.

There is a game currently on sale in the European Eshop that I really do recommend btw: Xmorph Defense, which is mixed genre between tower defense and arcade shmup. You play as an alien invader in charge of terraforming the Earth by defending your bases from the human armies, with towers and your own builder gunship. Environments are destructible as you can make large buildings fall off on the troops or destroy bridges in order to create a more complex maze. The Switch port of this PC game is pretty solid besides the loss of splitscreen multiplayer.



It's pretty fun and can be challenging on higher difficulties, or by trying out to hold out in Survival mode.
