It was already confirmed by the japanese twitter account that the Switch port will run on 1080p docked and 720p in portable mode (both 30fps), thus assuming it is better optimized than the PS4/Ps4 Pro by comparison. Of course, it's better to see the detailed reviews once it'll be released.

Here's hoping. I mean, the game is what, five years old now? And it came out on the PS4 and Xbox One. It should, by all means, run better on the Switch. I don't know why everyone keeps saying it will run like crap. It, by all means, should run fine. If it doesn't, its because SquareEnix just didn't give a damn, not because the Switch can't run it. But it looks like they are putting some effort into it.

Apparently it was censored world wide because of this, but it feels more like Tecmo Koei overreacting. Though it does look like CERO is cracking down, this appears to be recent change. The first game wasn't censored at all. This has nothing to do with Sony's policy.

Sophie was originally released in 2015. The game is way older than just a year. There may be a grandfathering clause for the DX versions because it's the same content being released for the same generation of platforms. But Cero ramping this up hasn't been a recent thing, it's been a gradual increase year by year.

Well I edited my post because I felt that it didn't elaborate enough. The DX versions were all content that was released before and it was on the same generation of platforms. I think a full re-rating may have not been a thing since it's not a next gen port and everything is old already existing content. The DX versions were on the PS4 as well the switch versions. Cero doesn't have anything up about needing to re-rate the same game, because all that were in the DX versions were the base game and DLC.

Putting effort into optimization has been a uncommon thing for a long time, but it seems that the Switch being the indisputable leading console in the market is changing those bad habits for the better among some development groups. Like I noticed Atelier Sophie 2 was awfully smoother on Switch than Atelier Rorona DX (which still have the same areas that tanks the framerate such as the town plaza or the griffon plains, exactly like back on the Vita), all while barely looking any different from the Playstation/PC versions.
