Splatoon is weird. It feels like a good chunk of the fanbase jumped off during 2 and honestly Splatoon 3’s marketing is shit. Can anyone actually explain what new things are in this game?

I really do wonder if it will do as well as the previous.
Splatoon 2 had a major rash of cheating and Nintendo didn't do much to stop it. Later on, when they launched NSO and cloud saving, Splatoon 2 was excluded with the reason given being "concerns over hacking", which was insult to injury.

I remember people also complaining that 2 felt like the first game again. I never had an issue with that, but I could see where they were coming from. The Octo-expansion very much felt like the story mode we should have gotten in base. Salmon Run and the story mode were new, but other than that, it probably could have easily been an upgrade of the original in many ways.

New story, New content for Salmon run, New weapons and Ultimates that you can charge and activate in matches. That's all I gleamed from what we were shown
That seems really tame. The initial trailer hinted at so much more that they have yet to capitalize on. I know Josh Thomas is a lolcow and perpetual Nintendo cynic, but he is right on Splatoon in many regards. Nothing from the trailers feels like content that needed a full new game. For a 3rd, they better be fixing many of Splatoon’s major flaws such as the stupid map rotations that are two an hour or really just the awful timing system of things in the game.

They posted a turf war gamplay vid on the Nintendo Channel. See if you noticed anything different:

A small update on the Serious Sam Collection on Switch.
Finished the Jewel of the Nile (Serious Sam 3 DLC) and soon reaching the end of The First Encounter HD. I've encountered one bug so far in the first level of the SS3 DLC (a pedestal refused to move into the ground during a cutscene), which forced me to reload a previous save. TFE runs pretty great but it's possible to have some frame-drop in certain areas on Graphics mode. I'm honestly enjoying the port even if it could have been optimized a little better.

I never really got all the rave the switch has, it's essentially a truthful bias when it's related to the neckbeard type of guys. I just keep thinking of goddamn dobson when the switch is mentioned.
It's a good system, but it feels cheap and weak. The OLED should have been in from the beginning, for example. It also has fewer good exclusives than it should, probably due in part to excessive ports.

Having Rosalina in Battle Strikers is an interesting choice because I’m now wondering if she’ll use Luma as a shield, or as a teammate.

I just can’t image this cute yellow thing kicking a soccer ball that’s filled with electrolytes in it :story:
