One thing I have been considering as of late is rebuying a game I already own on pc simply so I can put the switch in sleep mode and pick it up again. As silly as it may be I forgot how useful that feature was, specially for jrpgs.

And there's no fags or niggers in Mario Tennis yet.

It’s not going to be as good as Wii Sports or Wii Sports Resort, is it?
They remind me of MySims characters, but not as well stylized:

I can't really see Nintendo Switch Sports doing very well. Not being able to play as Miis, despite Switch still supporting them, feels like the elephant in the room. Who wants to play as the Burger King Kids Club ft. the Lazy Town girl when you could play as yourself, your friends, your family, and also Hitler and Jesus and Trump and Jack Black and Frasier Crane and a guy with a butthole for a face?

Correction: Miis are playable in the game, they just haven’t been highlighted. They say so in the newest trailer, and the first gameplay showcase has the devs use their own Miis for volleyball. They really should use them more though as they are much better designed and would add more value to the title if people knew.

Just finished Kirby and the Forgotten Land. I didn't expect the voice-acting once you enter the lab and there are a bunch of QTEs during the last minutes against the final boss.

There is a post-game world that gives a lot more challenge between the rearranged stages you visited before, mini-bosses having more attack patterns and bosses acting differently, and finally a new form of collectathon (in the form of souls to free the lion dude stuck in the Forgo vortex).

Excellent game overall but again this is my first Kirby title I've played and completed so I dunno how it fares to others. Still solid on its own at least.

La Pucelle originally came out in early 2002 (before the first Disgaea) so the battle system is a bit more primitive by comparison, such as the lack of Throw command and no weapon proficiency. You can't hire generic units either so the sole option is to convert the enemy goons in order to capture them. At least that's as far as I do remember about the game on the Vita.
I'm still working my way through the game (I just beat the armadillo boss yesterday). Enjoying it so far, looking forward to seeing more Kirby games using this style.

I just wish I hadn't read leaks and spoiled the game's ending before release. I like the story, I just wish I could have experienced it through a normal playthrough.

Also here's to hoping the game will get some DLC. At the very least a few more copy abilities would be great (give me Poison, Circus, and Mirror, and I'm good

Also, if you want to check out more games in the series, highly recommend Planet Robobot, Return to Dreanland, and Crystal Shards.

Publisher Natsume Atari and developer Tengo Project have released the fourth official trailer for Kiki Kaikai (Pocky & Rocky Reshrined), dubbed the “Game Modes and New Systems Trailer.”
The trailer highlights the game’s Story Mode, the two-player cooperative Free Mode, and various new systems such as “Purification Charge,” “Attack Channeling,” and power-ups.
Seems also to confirm the western version has censorship with Ame no Uzume's character design being altered to show no boob cleavage

Publisher Kadokawa Games and developer 24Frame have released the launch trailer and new screenshots for the PlayStation 4 and Switch versions of top-down shooting action game Metal Dogs. Metal Dogs is due out for PlayStation 4 and Switch on April 8 in Japan. The PC version is currently in Early Access via Steam and will receive its 0.5.0 update on the same date.

Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Switch Online will add Mario Golf on April 15, Nintendo announced. Mario Golf first launched for Nintendo 64 in June 1999.

There is a review that describes the Switch port of 13 Sentinels of being the definitive edition of the game, with the Destruction mode running better on Nintendo's handheld than on the base PS4 and its shortcomings fixed.
What most 13 Sentinels fans might be curious about is how well the Switch handles Destruction mode. Playing Destruction mode on the base PS4, and even the PS4 Pro at times, would cause a serious drop in framerate when the screen started to fill up with enemies. Before this port came out, I was wondering if the Switch would be able to handle some of the more intense battles. The answer Vanillaware gave me was, yes it can. All in all, the Switch version essentially runs the same as it does on the base PS4, and maybe even slightly better. There also didn't appear to be a reduction in the number of enemies during battles either, which would be one way of helping out the Switch's performance. The various kaiju still fill up the screen, and the infamous "Missile Rain" attack can still lag the game slightly, but I am impressed with the Switch's overall performance on this game.

However, what is more worth discussing is how the Switch version makes some changes to combat overall. Destruction mode was often cited as the worst aspect of the game on PS4. Destruction mode in the PS4 version was rather laid-back. Combat wasn't too difficult, even on Intense mode. The famous Sentry Gun strategy was the great equalizer and rarely did any of the levels feel challenging until the last few maps. However, Vanillaware has adjusted 13 Sentinels' combat for the Switch version, as if to answer those complaints about the battles being too easy. Sentry Guns have been greatly nerfed, eliminating one of the foundations of successful battles in the PS4 version. With much less emphasis placed on Sentry Guns, combat is now more well-rounded, and it feels like each character has a much bigger role to play in battle. Intense mode now feels like a legitimate challenge, and it forced me to change up my strategy a lot from when I played on the PS4.

Part of this comes down to a change that was actually advertised before this port was released: the new weapons. Each Sentinel pilot now has two unique skills that they can unlock and use in battle, and that completely changed how I viewed some of their roles. There are four different "generations" of the Sentinels, and they each have their own part of combat that they're good at. First-generations hit hard, but they lack anti-air equipment, second-generations have a wide variety of equipment for different situations, third-generations are best at crowd clearing, and fourth-generations lend support from the sky. In the PS4 version, only about half of the pilots had some kind of unique equipment that they could use that made them different from their counterparts. Now, everyone feels different, and I believe that these changes make up a net positive in terms of engagement from Destruction mode.

[...]

Vanillaware has handled 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim's Switch port with the utmost care and, with some of the changes, may even be better than the PS4 version. While I was hoping that Vanillaware would go back and add in a couple of new scenes that they had previously cut out of the game, I will also happily take the changes to Destruction mode. Now that a Switch version is available, I am hoping more people will get to experience this masterpiece of modern gaming. 13 Sentinels flew under the radar on PS4, so now I'm hoping the spotlight will be on this excellent game after word of mouth has spread. If you love RPGs, have an affinity for excellent stories, are in the mood for some good brain exercise, or just looking for a nice 30-hour experience in gaming, look no further than 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.

From GOTD to SJW garbage for cucks with one simple change. Easy come, easy go. Well, I guess gaming is officially dead now.

It's less of a SJW thing and more a "Localization team oversanatizing for the sake of the children" thing.

Look at Yugioh for a good example of what I mean.

You know what I'd like to see? A Switch port of Metroid: Other M. Specifically, a re-translated version of it. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I remember seeing something a while back about how the reason it was so bad was because the localization team shit the bed and completely fucked up the translation. Like, instead of not using her upgrades because Adam hadn't given her permission to, it was because she prefers to fight without them to challenge herself, or something like that. If that's actually true, I'd love to see the game done properly.

A new translation still wouldn’t fix the subpar gameplay and the painfully linear progression and exploration that just hang on the game like a fucking lodestone. Whatever initial flaws that game had are now amplified by how much Metroid Dread did right.

Was it that bad? I never played it, since I sold my Wii before it came out.

You hold the Wii remote sideways as if it were an NES controller and use the d-pad to navigate the 3D space. The game somewhat accommodates this by auto-aiming at enemies if you are facing them, but you are forced to point the controller at the screen to fire missiles (doing so also puts you in a limited first person mode as well, leading to a bit of a delay). You’re not really allowed to fully explore the map until the post-game stuff, so you’re robbed of the feeling of becoming a bad ass as you expand your arsenal. Yeah, the acting and writing (or translation) get a lot of shit, but they’re just another element bogging this game down. I’m also willing to bet that there are story issues that no translation can fix. The game tries to set up a mystery and just kind of abandons it.

As I heard it told, the main guy behind Metroid (who supposedly doesn't understand English well) insisted he have input and final say in the localization process. So even though he seemingly fucked it up, it was sort of by design, bizarrely.

I don't remember the details, but if they just fix the original story and give it a proper translation, maybe address some of the main complaints, I think it could be good. I've never played it but I like Team Ninja, so I'm sure it's salvageable.

I'd like them to also salvage Star Fox Zero, another I didn't play. I think these are probably not bad games, in Star Fox's case my main complaint is it being a 3rd reboot. Tweak the story a bit, fix the gimmicky shit, and we've got ourselves a real Star Fox game.
