Turns out the emulation implementation for the new n64 games is hilariously bad. That Mario kart audio is probably the last thing a man hears before he dies.
Remember how people argued that the lack of features and screwed online functionality was tolerable at $20?

Now it's just $10 shy of Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus, and they're likely to drip feed these half assed ports.

I think Nintendo's in desperate need of a humbling, their arrogance can end up screwing up their next console.

The switch already gets ports way late and now you're at the point where more companies are opting to stream games to the switch rather than offer physical copies or doing downgraded ports. That's if they don't get skipped over entirely like Tales of Arise and Elden Ring are doing.

I'm not really sure what people mean by Nintendo getting humbled when they can still sell a Pokemon game for $60 that's not fully finished.

A lot of those shitty streaming games are because they don't want to spend money optimizing or using the bigger carts. Its bullshit, if its a 360 era game and its not fully on cart then fuck'em, don't buy it.

I'm enjoying it so far. Seems to run with a few improvements over my N64 versions. You guys are just being picky or trying to justify theft.

It's just pure laziness from Square-Enix for the Kingdom Hearts debacle. Especially when the Switch can run the whole Crysis trilogy much better than the 7th gen of home consoles, and in portable mode no less, as well as Dying Light (which has graphic downgrades just like The Witcher 3 but still remain the same game with all the dlc contents).

That's pretty damn impressive in its own right considering the prowess of the previous console handhelds

Yeah but all of those are from PS4 or PS3, you're now at the point where more games will be coming out with enhanced lighting and other stuff that the switch isn't built for.

Dragon Quest 12 will be using Raytracing to a significant extent and Final Fantasy 16 isn't coming to the switch. Now DQ 11 had real time lighting but Square Enix had to bake in all the lighting for the switch version and downgrade the texture resolutions and lower poly amounts and this was an extensive port on Square's part.

You can also tell the difference between Monster Hunter Rise's switch and PC ports just how much the PC ports has major differences when it comes to longer draw distance and texture resolution. Crysis is a much much older game and in many instances used quite a few tricks to sell graphics cards originally. It's also running on a different engine and there's differences between the Cry engine and stuff like Unreal.

Rockstar apparently can't fit all 3 GTA games onto a single switch cart so you're not even going to get any of the full games on the cart and the remaining files have to be downloaded. It's around 25 gigs for the whole trilogy if you're doing a full digital download.

This is mostly due to the fact that every other platform doesn't need to have things compressed. The HD versions of Final Fantasy 7 and 8 are round 6-7 gigs total for the system in comparison and those are PS1 games.

Rune Factory 4 Special? Worth it? I have heard that you do indeed get more bang for your buck as its cheaper price wise. Never played the original but I've played some Harvest Moon and Story of seasons before.

I've seen a few people say it is packed with dialogue, 6,000 dubbed lines?! And apparently everyone says different things every single day and rarely repeat dialogue? Giving Falcom a run for their money

I had the same question when I saw it on sale, you stupid fucking dyke.

My one friend plays it obsessively and dislikes Animal Crossing.

It’s legitimately one of the most impressive games I’ve ever played from a dialogue standpoint. Characters have dynamic schedules and dialogue, which changes based on what’s happening (weather, story events, and sometimes random character events) and they have tons of lines even for normal days.

Unfortunately, it’s literally a ds game that was switched to 3ds late in development and then ported again to HD consoles. It basically doesn’t drain battery and runs at a flawless 60fps as a result though lol. Combat and farming feel like a DS game, but they do have a ton of depth. It’s also pretty easy to break it wide open if you’re clever, which is fun. Story progress is gated by random events, which makes it feel dynamic, but also frustrating because sometimes they take forever to trigger.

Game has an insane amount of content. I put 60 hours in and I just started the post game, which is massive.

If you didn’t mind how it looks and plays, it’s absolutely worth the money. I like it more than stardew valley, but it’s a much more dungeon crawling oriented game.

What a weird accolade to have that will not move any copies.

I appreciate your post. It is good. Generally I ageee. I played two Rune Factory games and they were very... shallow pond I guess.

The people at Nintendo of America have been pushing Life is Strange pretty hard. It is in all of their front pages, all of their messaging and has a great position on the eShop's home. You'll be thrilled to hear that it isn't on any of their top sales lists. Hooray!
