I really wish this was another live action movie, Chris Pratt and Charlie Day as irl Mario and Luigi would be funny as hell.

Japanese direct had more SMT stuff at least.

3D Kirby is cool. Splatoon looks great. Triangle Strategy should’ve been called Triangle Tactics, but looks great.

It’s funny to see the same people go from hyped about N64 to pissed that they have to pay to hyped again because of Banjo and Kazooie. Millennials are so easily manipulated.

Nope, it seemed fine to me, and I'm usually one of the first people to complain about input lag. The one main problem with that compilation is that Sonic 3 + Knuckles was excluded for some reason, probably because of Michael Jackson allegations flaring up around some documentary that was released around the same time.

edit: Can also confirm that the PC version doesn't have the aformentioned input lag, either. Also it has Sonic 3 + Knuckles because PC always wins

Maybe they just convinced Nintendo that having a big "Hollywood Cast" would be great for the movie and for its box office. Shigeru seemed pretty hyped about "the talent" involved. At least they're giving Charles some cameos.

Pretty sure DK 64 run better on the old wii and wii u virtual console, so I dont see why Tooie wouldnt run better as well, not 60 but at least a semi locked 30
 
I'm just glad someone remembered that ActRaiser exists. Such a comfort game. Hopefully the remake is decent.

man, for like 20 years nobody had a problem calling em Banjo-Kazooie but then Sakurai's autism forced 'em into being called Banjo AND Kazooie in Smash because the japanese version of the game is literally "banjo and kazooie's great adventure" and now my autism's gotta suffer for it, and it triggers that same part of my brain when people say prices like "This costs 70$" and it's mildly annoying

Good to know then.
I view the retro console emulation on Switch as a side bonus of my online subscription (which I'm regularly using it for Taiko Tatsujin, EDF2 and a few other games) and there is the possibility to download the japanese app off a secondary eshop account and running it through the main account. At least in the meantime before there is a hack exploit for the v2 model.

Tooie is much more intensive than DK 64, with the game frequently making use of more advanced lighting techniques and large environments due to being an extremely late N64 game, even emulation up until somewhat recently had a lot of problems getting the game to fully work, so Nintendo might not even see it as worth it trying to get Tooie to run.

Tooie was heavily gimped on N64 hardware (or rather ungimped on xbox I guess) in other ways besides framerate as well, it's genuinely the worst version of the game. Kazooie's N64 version is fine, but playing either without the quality of life stuff the Xbox versions introduced is hard to adjust to.
 
What I wish would happen is if Game Freak/Nintendo would port the Virtual Console re-releases of Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow and Gold/Silver/Crystal to the Switch eShop. Then, with this new N64 library available, we could potentially see Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2 arriving with connectivity to RBY and GSC just like the original N64 versions. I'm being way too optimistic here, but it would be very nice.
 
Kinda sucks they didn't/couldn't get MS to license Perfect Dark. Would actually be kinda fun to play with people in the same room again only no screenpeeking. Fuck paying for ROMs though.

Also can't wait till the mario movie where Luigi says his famouse catchphrase "Niggers hanging from rafters".
 
Also, this "expansion pack" is such turbo gay shit. Giving people access to N64 games that they don't even get to keep, for a bump in price that you barely get anything for?

Come the fuck on, Nintendo. And those $50 controllers are bullshit too.
