Yeah I use the NES and SNES controllers on my PC with emulators and newer games that are styled after games of those eras. They work great!

Wrong series to bring back Square. This was something that should have stayed dead.
Also that retro n64 controller makes me wonder if the stick won't wear down like the originals. Someone needs to open it up.

I initially assumed it was part of the usual NSO program, without any extra cost, but looks like I wasn't clearly paying attention enough. My bad.
I'll just fire up parellei on PC if i were to crave for n64 vidya at some point, but I also know that normal people are very reluctant with emulating retro games themselves (regardless of the platform they're using) so Nintendo could easily get away with this one

Direct wasn't great but I liked this one more than their E3 presentation. Glad they are releasing G-Rank for Monster Hunter so quick since the base game was a bit underwhelming. Hopefully expansion fixes the issues I had with it.
Their planed N64 library looks decent although I think it should be part of the base switch online. Fuck the controlers though.
Not a big fan of Kirby but new game looks like it could be fun.
Will probably pick up Castlevania collection at some point and wait a bit before getting Actriser to see what other people think of the remake.
Nice that we finally got some news about Bayo 3 although the trailer didn't fully sell it to me. Also I'm a bit sceptical of the game that spent so much time in developement.
I completely forgot that Mario movie was coming out and fuck this direct for reminding me. Mario movie wouldn't have any right to be good even if made by competent people. In the hands of Illumination it's guaranteed disaster. I died of cringe just by listening to that segment and trying to imagine what the final product looks like.

Honestly, back in the day nobody had the six button controller. It wasn't even released until 1993, more than half-way through the Genny's life.

The Direct, while not exactly amazing, I still found to be pretty satisfying on the whole. Even if the whole Online Expansion thing leaves me with mixed reactions.

Yeah we had one and that was only because my grandma got it for my brother on his birthday. It never got that much use because by the time that controller came out, we had recently gotten a Super Nintendo and were mostly playing that. Grandmas are always great at getting you cool stuff just a little too late.

ChocoboGP: Looks like a fun kart racer, need to see some full laps and get an idea of how it runs, however.
Bayo 3: Looks great, but could be coming to pc as well going off the Nvidia leaks, if that is the case rather wait
Actraiser Renaissance: Looks good but a sale game for me
Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Kirby games while still good have been needing a refresh, so glad to see them doing something new. The only question I have is, will it all be taking place in this one location because feel like it could get a bit boring if it does.

Reminder that switch pro rumors were started and perpetuated by the fans. Nintendo, as far as as I recall, haven't done anything like release a more powerful version of a popular console. The OLED switch is a bit underwhelming, but any disappointment over this is on the fans.
Nintendo has always valued fun over functionality (whether or not that is a good is entirely up to you).

Too true, but it was hardly even worth the investment at all. The stand issue can be remedied by any stand you could possibly buy (or even just propping it against anything), the storage is hardly addressed so you still need a micro SD anyway, and the screen.... who flippin' cares?
I don't even know why they bothered at all, to be honest.

OG Switch parts are so old that the companies that made them either stopped or were bought up by other companies. So this new Switch is going to be the new baseline after they run out of stock of the original that they already have manufactured.

There is a megadrive bluetooth wireless controller with the Sega's "seal of approval" sold on Amazon and other retailers, which work on both PC and Switch (I only have the usb one though). It would take a special kind of idiot to go throughout all the inconvenience to import that controller from Nintendo Japan frankly.Funny thing about that, actually: the six-button version IS available....but it's Japan-only.
