Anyone know if the first switch (including OLED version) will drop in price? I can’t imagine the Switch 2 not having backwards compatibility, but $600 is ridiculous. I still think the Switch original was too expensive for what it was. Iirc, it’s between $250-$350 already for the OG switch. $250 & change for the basic version & $350 ish for the bigger screen + slight spec increase.
Consoomer’s buying costly consoles will just empower companies to hike prices even more. Emulating levels the playing field for many people. Nintenfags fine with a console doubling in price, in droves, drives up the price. Nintendo needs to get real. Even more so, consoomers need to chill the fuck out a little.
I used to think kids were the main market for Nintendo, now I think it’s aging 30 something dudes. Guys who only play games, no life, no regular interaction, with plenty of expendable income easily buying $600 consoles & games at $100 a pop. Even if they can’t afford it in their budget (if they even make one.) Those faggots will still buy it at $600 & if Nintendo does well enough with this Switch 2 debut, then there is the answer. 30 something man children will be known as the demographic catered to, because there’s no way in hell Nintendo thinks everyday normal families can throw down $600 a piece for multiple units for their multiple kids, plus games. Always new games.
If gaming becomes as expensive as financing a car, that cuts out over half of their prior demographics. Something about this is a test run. How much blood can they get outta this turnip? Know what I’m sayin’ butta dawg?
So first, game companies don’t even cater to gamers anymore, & now they are trying to turn it into some kind of financing operation with the price hikes. The shitty part is that the Switch 2 will probably do just fine in sales & create a new normal. $600 handheld consoles.
