I think part of the reasoning is because Mario games tend to be simple games that focus on fun rather than have some sort of "epic" story that autists would want to insert themselves into.

I don't know about that. I saw more than a few people get way too upset at Peach not marrying Mario at the end of Odyssey.

LOL the monarch can't marry a plumber. Especially a shitskin wop plumber. Peach can only marry equal or up. Bowser is a King. Her choice is obvious.

Looks like they are already coping and trying to save face after jumping on the same Bloomberg rumor for the nth time.

I do have to wonder, is the world clamoring for a Switch Pro?

Don't most people play Switch in Handheld mode? Has Nintendo ever followed the trend established by Sony and Microsoft? Does anyone actually want it outside of Sony fanboys who won't even buy it?

I don't want a Switch Pro. The one I have is fine. What I would like are joycons that I can trust. Because of the drift issue I almost never use handheld mode. I play on a television or at my desk with a charging stand and a pro controller.

But beyond that the system is great. I don't need better graphics or a million more bump maps. And ray tracing can snort my grundle. More levels in Mario Kart would be swell though. That's all I really want.

So you WANT a Switch Pro? How else will you replace the Joycons?

Handheld mode is gimped due to sheer size of the system, poor battery life, and joycon drift fuckery.

I keep mine in docked mode and I use a pro controller.

It's most certainly going to be an issue going forward with third party games if they don't have a more powerful and/or streamlined system because the internals are fucked in terms of efficiency and will bog down developers. So expect a two year window or more between ports. If you take games that meant to run on an SSD and then put them on something that doesn't have one you might wind up with a hot plate instead.

That great but I'm talking about the masses.
If you see some faggot with a messenger bag/man purse, he probably has a switch inside of it.

It's going to be console mode in western countries for many games outside of areas like airports since the thing needs to be tethered to an outlet.

Except it doesn't, and I see kids playing with their switches in public all the time.

Like I get you're embarrassed to play with a Switch cause it's a kids toy at heart but honestly nobody gives a fuck.

Serious Question though, why the fuck do you want a Switch Pro to play games that are already on your Xbox/Playstation/PC if you're just going to play it at home anyways?

It's not that I'm embarrassed to play a switch outside, it's just you don't want to get fucking mugged whilst playing it.

The other thing is, the switch's hardware also correlates to proprietary development programs. When they upgrade their software and have it geared towards the majority of PC/Xbox/Playstation it would fuck games in the future that may have an exclusive entry on switch. I mean right now that's not a problem but you can see stuff like in MH Rise that uses capcom's own software the limits to what's possible have kind of been reached if it's looking worse than it's previous entry. There's a ton of stuff in Rise that has major issues that was not present on the PS4, especially relating to pop in at a distance and them needing to gimp animation frames.

They switch over stuff for Playstation 5 for the next console game and now you have a massive gap that wasn't there before.

I don't know of a lot of other cult series where half of the so-called fans have never actually experienced it.
That's probably really common with JRPGs nowadays, they're such colossal time commitments, and why commit your time to something you say you love when you can sit around refreshing Twitter all day? I'm sure Final Fantasy has a big fanbase of people who never played it because Sephiroth and Ignis are hot, and Undertale because ho ho funny skeletons.

Come to think of it, it was probably an entire decade between the first time I saw a Touhou character and found out that Touhou is a computer game. That's gotta be the #1 series of this ilk. It's the only game series I've ever heard of where the actual games and plots practically don't matter.

No and if the hardware/software sales have proven something, it's that graphic fidelity doesn't matter much to the masses since we've hit the ceiling in the past years.
It's not gonna stop some retards on internet who complain that the Switch is some kind of evil scourge, running on an ancient Gameboy architecture, that would send the industry back to the stone age. I think those same people expected another WiiU failure with no 3rd party support everywhere and the different outcome legitimately broke their minds

2hu is also this massive source of doujin content since Zun is a pretty chill dude about letting people doing whatever they want with his characters (as long as he gets his name on the credits). You can see many touhou doujin games which started to appear on consoles with the Vita & PS4, then later on Switch. Luna Nights and Gensokyo Wanderer are the best ones out there.

I think the shining example of how stupid the Nintendies are with their dedication to Nintendo is perfectly exemplified by the existence of Limited Run Games. There are people out there who willingly pay $50+ on games that you can buy digitally on other platforms for $5-$10. It's disgusting but kudos to LRG for realizing they can profit off these people.
