Alright, so 3D World leaked a week ahead of time.

From what I can gander messing with it, the main game is 1080p at 60fps docked, and lowers to 720p in handheld. On the other hand, Bowser's Fury is always 720p, and will cap itself at 30fps in handheld mode.

Weird thing of note is that they increased the player movement speed without changing anything else, so it winds up being easier than the original version.

Hm. Am I in a minority here when I say that I almost never play in handheld mode?
Incidentally, yes. The vast majority of Switch users do not make use of its switching gimmick, and only stick to one mode. Most of those are always in handheld mode, so the Switch Lite kinda makes sense for Nintendo. Why bother with the docked mode?

Though that means most of the time, you're getting a real watered down experience on the Lite.

And that's exactly why I play it on my TV!

Sometimes I play the system "docked" on the charging stand though. Does this allow the system to utilize its full strength given that the stand also powers/charges the Switch?
Er, if you mean actually docked, yes. If you mean using the charger that's plugged on it, but outside the dock, then no. It just charges faster than if you used a dinkly 5/10v USB-C charger.

"Docked" and "Handheld" are true performance profiles for Switch games, and they're expected to change on the fly if you take it in or out of an outputing dock. Except for the original Hyrule Warriors. That one was always in docked mode for some reasons, and would just burn through the battery outputting the same 1080p gameplay on the 720p screen.

I'm kind of hoping the Switch pro has a perma docked console version much like how the switch lite was portable only and cheaper.

portable mode blows and I can never concentrate on games in public settings because shit is always going on around you and you could get stabbed if you're not paying attention.

Well, here's a vid of the Japanese park.

It's about as small as I'd expected and the trailer gave away everything but two or three areas.

It makes me wonder if Disney will even bother with a Nintendo smear campaign, because holy shit the Pandora Expansion on Animal Kingdom was roughly the same size as the whole Nintendo theme park.

It's been basically a year and a half since the last real direct so this is nice to see. I was starting to think that Nintendo had abandoned traditional directs in favor of just releasing random trailers unannounced. 50 minutes dedicated to the first half of 2021 sounds promising but I'm not too sure what to expect in it besides maybe something on BOTW 2 and Zelda's 35th anniversary. We at least have the inevitable autism storm a Smash reveal brings to look forward to.

Does anyone remember when Smash was something besides "Pooh's Adventures of Nintendo"?

Yeah, me neither.

another direct

quick poll via neg ratings on which fandom will generate the most salt

Islamic content for smash

autistic for pokemon

Mad at the internet for zelda

dumb for persona

I remember IGN telling everyone you can forget about Nintendo All Star! Dairantō Smash Brothers ever coming to North America. They don't bring games like that to the western market.

I wish old IGN had been right about that one.
