SMT 3 HD apparently did awful on the switch.

Time to chalk up another RPG series that switchlets left out in the cold.

I dunno how the MHRise numbers are looking but the western fans keep saying that this is another port of GU with improved graphics and it's also being chastised for no nintendo character costumes.

Yet they're still jizzing over the fucking themepark and all the exclusive merch you can supposedly buy.
To be fair, Nocturne HD isn't even out in the west yet, so I wouldn't call SMT a lost cause on the Switch just yet.
There's also still SMT5.

Whenever that comes out...
It's not the best of ports, sadly.

Didn't they use the Unity engine for this port or something like that? I don't even know how that works, but that alone kinda turns me away from buying it.

Hardtype is the best version of the game anyway. Now if only you were able to select fusion skills like in the new version.

The 5.5-inch GPD Win 3 and the 7-inch Aya Neo aren’t going about it in quite the same way; while the Ava tries to closely match Nintendo’s console in shape, size, and with strictly gaming controls on board, the GPD sticks to its palmtop computer roots with a slide-up screen that reveals a tiny backlit keyboard. There’s also a fingerprint sensor, a microSD slot and an optional Thunderbolt 4 dock if you want to use the GPD like a full Windows 10 computer.

Unity is being used for everything now, the fucking Mandalorean even used Unity for it's post production effects. It's not some cheap slapped together minimal effort tool, it can be used for a ton of stuff and does all of it well, and at this point gives Unreal a run for it's money.

The switch version outsold the PlayStation version. Truth is nobody cares about a shitty port of not Persona.

Weirdly, Atlus have put some degree of effort into fixing some of the problems with the port, like it's poor optimization. They even put in a feature that lets you either select skills when fusing, or randomizes them like in the original. It hasn't gotten a lot of attention though. https://personacentral.com/smt-iii-hd-version-1-02-update/

The game will still probably sell like shit in the west since it's not persona, but it's interesting that Atlus listened to fan complaints for once. If only they'd fix the fucking compression on the music, too.

For some reason Youtube decided to recommend me a SwankyBox short that is so retarded and unnecessary I felt compelled to post it here.

"Lava is weird in Breath of the Wild guys. If you take an enemy that is never spawned near lava and literally use mods to spawn him into lava (because even if you lead him there somehow naturally, he will stop at the shore and won't get in) he just swims around in it. OMG guys it's just red water, my entire life has been a lie."

About the Hinox swimming, I've managed to get one to swim naturally southwest of the tower that goes with Zora's Domain. And yes, I was running out stuff to do in BOTW when I did that.

And the "lava is colored water" thing is hardly anything new. I mean, just look at Corona Mountain from Super Mario Sunshine

Way older than that, remember the red hot water level in DKC 2 where you have to have the seal spit in the “lava” to turn it into water? How about Super Mario Bros. 1 and The Lost Levels where both water and lava are just graphics placed over a bottomless pit (except in water levels)? Pretty sure lava has water physics in Super Metroid too.

If red is what gives lava it's power to burn you and water's color does the opposite? Does that mean colorblind people are immune to lava and water?

i'd give swankybox the benefit of the doubt and assume he acts like a retard because his entire viewerbase is 6 year olds, but he seriously looks like he suffers from fetal alcohol syndrome so he probably is just in fact retarded.

Puppet Man is catching a lot of heat on Twitter for his tweet criticizing an ad for the Super Mario 3D World port:

Mostly criticisms about how he's over exaggerating the advertising's role in killing the Wii U, or laughing about how he's complaining that a children's game is being marketed in a childish way.

And the advertisement itself

The original Super Mario 3D world's marketing was really insistent on using the cat forms as a selling point and personally I don't feel this is too different compared to their other current ads.

What killed the Wii-U was it's lack of games. I had a wii-u at launch and when it ended I barely had 20 games for the system, in comparison my switch collection is in the dozens.

Yeah I have shit like the Collector's Edition of Windjammers but the wii-u didn't even have games like those.

Honestly though with all the Switch pro rumors about I'm hoping for a real console war so we get advertisements like these back. That Mario 3d World commercial is just kinda meh, they should have made the powerups resemble the in game models so they stick out more.

Then again if it's true it's also going to be using AMD chips it's going to be awhile until we see it.

The thing I really want to see is how the western fans react to Monster Hunter Rise. I mean they promoted it for months before actual ingame footage came out that it was going to be REAL MONSTER HUNTER like GU was(which it wasn't GU was inferior to 3U which shows just how many of these supposed die hards actually played the series before World blew up in the west). Reactions already seem mixed and personally from playing the demo the combat and stages seem to have taken a step back to how fluid world's combat was.

It may take a few patches to get Rise up and running, it is the Generations team making it so they made a bunch of weird needless changes. The Monster riding is the biggest WTF change because you already had the Tailraiders from World and mounting and you didn't need to ride the actual monster itself like one, just to cause an opening for the quest's main monster.

Meeeeeeeow. Bowser's Fury looks great. Mario 3D World will continue to be mediocre.

Also lots of Fire Emblem celebration of late. I wonder which FE character is coming to Smash next?

It's Anna. MEEEEEEEEOW

Do smashfags count? Also how can Nintendo keep earning monies? Do their competitors actually suck that much or they have luck?
Mostly both. Nintendo's competitors are dick-trippingly incompetent and Nintendo is also lucky.

Nintendo also has the best stable of video game developers bar none.
