*Rogue Leader wasn't multiplatform.

Yeah, but I don't think the GC first party games are that fondly remembered. Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Double Dash.......do people really love any of these games? The only first party Nintendo game from the GC era that stands out to me is Wario Ware - which is actually quite fun.

F-Zero doesn't count cause it was a third party developed game.
Shoot you are right, I guess people were talking about the third one then (the bad one?) Well, a cap in the cube's feather then.

Anyways, there's now a bunch of really obnoxious 20-somethings that cannot shut up about how much they love Pikmin, LM, Double Dash, Animal Crossing, etc. Think Josh Thomas types. Gamecube started really having its moment about four years ago.

Fair enough. I did the majority of my GC collecting between 2008-2012 so I got lucky and bought stuff reasonably cheap (Skies of Arcadia was already $50 at that point). I mean, I like the system but I can see how blathering on about it endlessly could get annoying.

Would people really kill for them though? The last entries for those series (to be fair, on the Gamecube officially for both, though I think there was a Land-esque motion game on Wii and maybe a *DS release) didn't do amazing sales. Still, there's hope. Nintendo clearly hasn't forgotten either of them and FamiWars and Snap both came back.

Nintendo doesn't want money if they won't make any new titles of games that fans have been asking for years now. People would kill for a new F-zero or even Wario Land. Is there a successor thread on here for discussion?
You think being a fan of Nintendo's lesser-known franchises is pure suffering, try being a fan of anything SEGA that doesn't have to do with Sonic, Persona, or Yakuza.
They're fortunate though, because unlike my hopeless situation, Nintendo might actually listen to them every once in a while. Metroid Dread, WarioWare: Get it Together, etc. And even when they don't, their lineup of new stuff is usually intriguing enough to warrant at least a passing glance.

Unlike SEGA, who are content to piss away their money exclusively on Sonic games, Yakuza games, and Persona games. Occasionally you get a Sonic Mania, or a Streets of Rage 4, or an Alex Kidd DX but those are few and far between.

Notice also how, whenever SEGA does get off their lazy asses and does something with their legacy franchises, it's always Genesis/Master System titles. Want a Blue Stinger remake, or a Skies of Arcadia remaster, or a new Virtua Cop, or a new Billy Hatcher? Well, no, sorry. But, we DO have a Woke FPS in the works from the Alien: Isolation devs, and an open-world Sonic game that may or may not be total shit, that totally makes up for it right?!

TL;DR: Being a fan of Ninty's lesser-known franchises at least has a chance of paying off eventually. Being a fan of SEGA's lesser-known franchises (that aren't primarily on the Genesis/Master System) is just setting yourself up for massive disappointment after massive disappointment, for all eternity.

Think that's bad? Try being a fan of Sly Cooper or even Rayman. Those two guys have it just as bad as the other Sega properties that haven't gotten new games that aren't related to Persona or that damn hedgehog.

There was actually consideration for a new F-Zero title back when the Wii U console was a thing, except it didn't get far. It was supposed to be handled by the studio that made the Burnout games. As for Wario. He did get a Wii console game which was praised for its platforming and the 2D graphics, but it didn't sell well enough for Nintendo's expectations. It doesn't look like Nintendo is interested in doing anything new with those two particular series. Let alone that we're getting a Wario Land successor called Antonblast that's coming next year.

I'd argue that Sly had a shelf life given the Industry at the time of the releases, which also works the same way with many of Nintendo or Sega's other ignored properties, Especially with something like F-Zero or Game and Watch.

Still waiting on a new Vectorman game.

My hopes of a Rayman 4 vanished when Michel Ancel announced his retirement from game development a few years ago. I wish him well, but without him I don't trust Ubisoft to make a good Rayman game.

At least the Rabbids gave a cool Xcom clone. What have the minions given us?
Rabbids Go Home on Wii wad a great little Katamari Damacy style game. Hopefully it will get an HD port someday.

Lets not forget that aside from losing Rayman 4, we also lost Beyond Good and Evil 2 as well as anything Rayman related. Ubisoft's management was one of the things that Michael left the company for, and unless if someone else buys the rights to Rayman. I don't see any chance of that guy coming back. I would like to see Rabbids go home get remade since that one I will admit was a fun game for the Wii.

And Pizza Tower!
So we're getting two Wario Land successors? Damn. The indie scene is really hitting it good on delivering.

No, BGAE 2 still in development. Heck, it's even got a new lead writer!

I love the art direction of the Anton series but lets not get too ahead of ourselves... they all got middling at best reviews (saying the concept was novel but execution poor) and its not a real successor. I assume AB is a Wario Blast take anyways, given the name?
