More tracks, online races, high quality audio, including the GX stuff, I would take an HD remaster.
It's been nearly 20 years since the last F-Zero on console, so i'm pretty sure most people won't mind either a sequel very similar to GX or at the very least a HD remaster, i would understand if Nintendo feels each F-Zero needs to feel to feel different if it were a game series that gets a new game every year, but that's not the case.
That's one of the things that bother me the most about Nintendo, when it comes about their best selling IPs such as Mario, Zelda and to a certain extent, Pokemon, they're allowed to play it safe, they released 4 New Super Mario Bros games in row, games that pretty much indistinguishable from one another except for the console they were released on, Zelda BoTW didn't take any risks either, it just took advantage from the popularity of open world games, a genre that was made popular by Far Cry, Skyrim and GTA, not Zelda.
But when it comes to their "B-tier" IPs they're treated like guinea pigs, just meant to test weird ideas, or just give excuses like "We don't know to make this game different from the previous entry" does every fucking F-Zero needs to be a completely different genre?. Does the next F-Zero needs to be a walking simulator or a visual novel to make it different enough from GX?. And that's the thing, that's what they did with Star Fox, every main entry in the series (64, Adventures, Assault and Command) is a completely different game, and because the series never got any real identity and never got big enough to be on par with Mario and Zelda.
Maybe is for the best that Nintendo never releases another F-zero.
