Here's some alternate MonHun sales charts, showing World as being the biggest, but not bigger than all previous games combined.

As to you talking about BotW again, doesn't matter what you think it plays more like, what does matter is that it was inspired by stuff like TES, even if it came out tasting more like Ass Creed to you. (and for what its worth, the "quest chains" in BotW were very similar to the ones in TES IV where as I don't even think there were side-quests in stuff like AC 1 and 2/2 spin-offs. Which is what was out when BotW began development.)
Did you combine iceborne sales with world? Because Iceborne isn't a standalone game and World and the expansion sold over 24 million where as everything else cam just under 23 million for the mainline titles.

I really can't agree that BOTW is inspired by TES outside of having an open world because even going as far back as Morrowind, it's nothing like how BOTW is. Both oblvion and Skyrim also have way too distinct design decisions and different gameplay systems when compared to Zelda as well. All 3 of them are very firmly rooted in RPGs and BOTW is not an RPG of any sort. You have no skills to grind up in Zelda, no magic system with skill trees, it's missing all the hallmarks of what a WRPG would entail with quest tree choices and questlines in general. It's an Action game like what Ubisoft usually does. Even when looking at the crafting system to BOTW it's very lacking in player choice, in a TES game you could craft endgame equipment rather easily and customize it, BOTW only has a basic armor stat and you can't forge and repair weapons and give them enchantments.

It was inspired by TES, it wasn't a direct rip-off of it. There's a difference.

As for MH... look at the figures again, there's thirty six million before you get to World and its spinoff. If you don't count the upgraded versions for some reason... well why not? Its Japan, the bulk of the sales are going to be from portable versions.

Pretty sure that the BOTW devs specifically stated that Skyrim was a primary inspiration. IMO it is a Skyrim clone, only (very, heavily) simplified for fun, exploration, and environmental interaction. Playing the two back to back recently the similiarities seemed obvious.

It really makes me wish that climbing and gliding was part of Skyrim. Apparently climbing is something Bethesda is against, as people have been dragging them over that lacking with their recent announcement of that new RPG of theirs.

The simplicity is part of its charm. Its not perfect, but it should be a solid base for part 2 if they can fix the repetitiveness of the 1st.

Dude it's like saying that Tomb Raider is a simplified version of Final Fantasy 7, the combat is entirely different, the leveling systems are all different the gear and magic systems are different.

Skyrim is clearly an RPG, Zelda isn't. Zelda is closer to God of War 2018 than it is Skyrim. Nothing in Zelda is based around anything that's associated with the RPG genre outside of maybe medieval setting. If Zelda was a simplified RPG it would control like Dragon Quest. Hell Kingdom hearts has a simplified action RPG system and Zelda's combat isn't like that one bit.

Calling it now. The movie starts in the "real world". They have Spike the evil foreman from Wrecking Crew in it too. Act one is Mario & Luigi working on a construction site, who get treated like nobodies by their dickhead foreman Spike. Something happens with Donkey Kong, he grabs a lady and climbs to the top of the site with her or whatever, Mario stops it and is lauded as a hero. That's the inciting incident that upsets the characters' normal routine. Now Mario is famous for rescuing a pretty girl from a gorilla and he's in the news and being interviewed on talk shows and the Mushroom Kingdom where they are having a similar problem with the princess being kidnapped by a big beast catches wind of it. Then the act one turning point that leads to act two and the bulk of the action is he gets sucked into the Mushroom Kingdom like Michael Jordon in the original Space Jam except through a pipe as opposed to a golf hole, and Luigi accidently gets taken along for the ride like in the original Mario & Luigi for GBA. Then the main action gets underway as they have to save the Mushroom Kingdom.

If I'm right when the movie comes out in a year and a half quote this post and reply with a picture of some big titties for me.
That i surprisingly close of the original The Great Mission to Save Princess Peach! film.
Shigeru did not like that adaption much, actually preferring the Super Mario Bros film specifically because the producers did not stick super-closely to the original material.

I've never heard of that movie, but if my bs is similar, that's quite funny.

An F-Zero sequel will never come out and that's a good thing because F-Zero faggots will never be satisfied unless Nintendo goes all out on an insanely autistic hardmode racing game with no casual appeal.

I love F-Zero, but where is there left to go at this point? And how could Nintendo possibly live up to what Sega made?

Just emulate F-Zero GX and enjoy it, I say.

But has there been a trans black racer?

yes

What would an F-Zero game look like on the Nintendo Switch? I can’t see Generation Z liking that, more than say, Mega Man X2
