There's like 6 for Monster Hunter Rise alone.

Skyward sword is also getting it's whole set.
Huh. That's news to me.

Man, Nintendo is so bizarre with how they've handled Amiibo. Mario Maker 2 excluding it was a surprise to all, and like who knew that wouldn't use it, but the Dark Souls port would.

I don't mind the amiibos.

I do mind the shitty games.

Halp.
Well the Oddworld ports of New and Tasty, Stranger's Wrath HD, and Munch's HD are coming to the switch in a physical compilation.

Oddworld Inhabitants are re-doing ALL THE LORE for the established world though, so it sounds like the big deal thing will be the eventual books they publish before the next game. That seems to be the thing all the new games have is a greater sense of continuity. It would also be nice to have an oddworld art book that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Switch is looking fairly sparse on the RPG front, Tales of Arise isn't getting ported to it, the new Trails game isn't coming to it either, and Utawererumono is no longer a VN and is a full on Action RPG and that's not coming either.

Calculator would be great if it were like an actual programmable graphing calculator where you could write little shitpost games

There's even a company that produces their calculators under creative commons. How hard would it have been to work something out and use their stuff? Barebones scientific calculators are something that thousands of devs have dumped on android with no effort already, and for free. Only collectors are going to buy this.

No they won't, it doesn't have a physical release. The KORG thing has a physical release, people who like weird ports will buy shit like that.
Ten dollars for a digital only calculator app that comes free with Iphones and Androids. How does one think this is a good business decision?

I dunno but there's a Miku Hatsune X My Little Pony Collab that's happening

Truly we live in interesting times.
I could have understood this in 2014 maybe. Miku is the only brand in this that is still big, ponyfaggery has pretty much died out. I'm guessing Hasbro pushed for this in attempt to revive the brand? Because it's bizarre.

IIRC the new show failed so they've gone back to the drawing board.

It's not like it hasn't worked for their other franchises. Transformers, GI Joe, Marvel, etc. are all doing exceedingly well by them dipping into deep cuts and weird shit. They put up pre-orders for a transformer who's original figure usually goes for 5-10 grand on ebay(he's a japanese G1 character) and the new figure is not only bigger, but doesn't have the decaying plastic that the original is stricken with, and it's 150 bucks so it's not some kind of bank breaking investment to finally have an official rendition of the character.

They're putting a ton of effort into revitalizing Dungeons and Dragons, including having fully painted metal miniatures. Modular Scenery is supposed to be available soon as well.

Good point Maybe Nintendo's got a rule against things like that with real programming languages, which would explain why SmileBasic 4 is the only fantasy computer on the Switch eShop, despite there being so many out there nowadays.

I don't understand why they haven't even tried to make an actual disney infinity/skylanders style toys to life game for amiibos cause unlike with skylanders and such, amiibos have a function in games of other series which seems to be the factor that makes more people want to invest in them outside of just collectors being hoarders. Even now when most people are tired of those figurine collecting games I'm sure a lot of nintendo fans still have amiibos lying around collecting dust that they could use.

Did not play Talos Principle.
It's more a 3D puzzle game, alike of Portal or Qube, where you collect tetris-shaped pieces as a reward for completing levels in the form of enclosed spaces. You progressively get access to new items such as a crystalline mirror on tripod that reflect light beams meant to activate switches, or a time recorder that will make a clone out of you mimicking your past actions.

The Switch port is not perfect framerate-wise but it's definitively playable

There is also a third-party game I own, Little Nightmares (published by Bamco), that use amiibo features which was quite unexpected.
Might as well wait for a new Switch hack exploit so that I could unlock those skins without spending a dime on figurines

As long as the base game is fun has things I am familiar with and can visually recognize and can clap to, I don't mind the paying for the DLC.
This is what gave us Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival.

Why don't you just use the existing exploits or knockoff cards that are available that are like 5-10 bucks for a full set?

You don't need switch hacks to fake amiibos it's the same shit that existed since the wii-u, it hasn't changed. Spoofing the chip so the game gives you free shit has long been a solved problem.

As @Marissa Moira said you can just clone the amiibo tags with the help of nfc stickers. Ntag215 specifically. They cost pennies for many in comparison to the cost of one amiibo.

This guide should cover the basics. Will work with any game that requires amiibos for something once done, as long as you clone amiibos that work with said title.
