Arlo was alright until the puppet decided it needed to start browbeating people for disagreeing with him having the wrong politics. He literally did a "if you don't like [x]. then stop watching my videos" announcement.

Seems pretty cow-y to me.

However, his Twitter feed gives no results for any buzzwords. I tried "nazi", "russia", "gamergate", "supremacy", "sexism", and got absolutely nothing. He didn't even declare that Black Lives Matter™️. The most controversial he gets is saying bullying is bad.

If he's a cow, he's exceedingly good at keeping his sperging off Twitter. And I don't think it's physically possible for a cow to not also be a Twitter NPC.

theirs this nintendo fanboy on youtube called arlo who records all his videos with a muppet. He hasn't done anything really lolcow worthy he just seems like a weirdo to me.
He made a Skyrim review where he praised the game for having an addictive loop, that phrasing alone is kind of sussy Baka

Speaking of Arlo, he also did this puppet show that has nothing to do with Nintendo, last video is from 6 years ago: https://www.youtube.com/user/Fuzzaboom

The faggot bought out a stores entire inventory of Starlink: Battle for Atlas just because it came with Star Fox toys.

I'm pretty sure he's also like a 40 year old man that still lives with his mother, but I could just be remembering what someone else said incorrectly.

Either way, the first thing seems kind of lolcow to me.
He occasionally talks about games he played and where he was in his life when they came out, so I have him pegged at being around 35 years old

Yes Arlo, I, too, like Ritalin.

That was pretty funny, how all the love for Octopath just completely vanished the second it started being multiplatform.
For me, Bayonetta will always be the standard for this.

  • Bayo 1 is released. Nintendo fans silent. Some say they like it, some are fans, but most are indifferent.
  • Bayo 2 is announced as Nintendo exclusive. "OMG GOTY OF THE YEAR ALL YEARS! Suck it X-cocks and SuckStation owners!"
  • Bayo 1 gets a re-release on PC, Platinum is making multi-platform games again. "Bayonetta sucks! It always sucked! Sexist trash game by a trash company!"
  • Bayo gets added to Smash. "I like Bayonetta."

It was the RE4 situation all over again. I remember when Nintendo tards liked RE4 while it as a Game Cube exclusive, then they hated it when it got ported to the PS2, only to like it again when it got ported again on the Wii.

Speaking of another game from Platinum:
  • The Wonderful 101 is released as a Wii U exclusive. "OMG this game is incredible! Sleeper hit of the year! It's only not selling well because nobody knows about it! Go out and buy five copies, I did!"
  • The Wonderful 101 gets a multiplatform remaster, including on Switch: *crickets*
Resident Evil Revelaitons had a similar thing going when it was exclusive to the 3DS, but ended up going multiplatform.

It's almost like Nintendo fans will only hype up otherwise average games whenever they're Nintendo exclusive so they can feel like they can 'compete' with the consoles people actually care about.

While not from Nintendo, or on their consoles specifically, This is something that has happened with Sonic CD.

When the game was initially only on the Sega CD, people were willing to treat the game onto a much higher regard, but the moment it became a multiplat, the game quickly fell out of that reputation.

Because outside of the amazing japanese soundtrack the game is ass

Well, it's not like Nintendo and their partners are capable of moving on with something that isn't Mario or an JRPG.

It was really surreal how fast it happened, for almost a decade Sonic CD had nearly a god-like status, as if was the best game ever created that only a few chosen ones had the privilege to experience it, since it was originally exclusive for an add-on not many people owned. But as soon it was ported to PC and newer consoles, and more people got to play it, it all vanished, for years it was considered the best 2D Sonic ever created, but today its almost a forgotten game.

I wonder how many games have that kind of cult following solely because of supposed obscurity.

I know of at least one, possibly three. Only one is Nintendo though.

Gotcha Force. I owned that game when it was new. The premise is you're collecting toys and having them fight. It's a mediocre button mashing game that combines third person shooting with Pokemon.

It's also a rare collectors item, likely because no-one bought it back then. Yet I see it in retro collectors top GameCube games.

I used to hear about Misadventures of Tron Bonne all the time as one of the best PS1 games, but that was also rare and expensive. The PSN version got released for cheap, and improvements to PS1 emulation made it trivial to pirate. I don't hear about it now, though MegaMan fans sperg in other ways.

Metal Wolf Chaos. The crazy Japan only FromSoftware game that was the source of much hype and memes. The memes were old by the time it was re-released by Devolver. It felt like I was the only person to play that game. (I just checked, none of my friends actually bought the game despite having it wishlisted.)

I don't know if these count, but I'm guessing the King's Field and MechWarrior games will fall into this category if they ever get a re-release. I played them based on the recommendations from fans, it was amazing how quickly the fans changed their opinion in private from "they're all masterpieces" to "actually, all of them are a bit shit", with the only exceptions being the games that don't work on modern hardware. What a coincidence.

I actually have it in my wishlist, is it any good?.
