Maybe since the novelty of a Nick Brawler wore off after the first and the DLC characters being firebenders, a literal joke tmnt character and Mr Krabs not being truly exciting?

The devs shouldve done a Cyberpunk and update NASB1 to 2 and maybe not delete the greatest characters while at it.
It's like the devs are forgetting that things are just fads that were only relevant for three days to a week before being forgotten in the sands of time

This. It's so weird how they added half of the turtles in NASB1 just to swap them for the other half in SB2; then you got other weird choices like Gerald and Grandma instead of Arnold and Helga, or Reptar instead of the Rugrats. It's like there was some love and effort in the initial stages of SB2, but then they suddenly said, "Screw it. We'll resort to nostalgia, and maybe get Maximiliandood and Justin Wong to shill this game for us with the FGC's help. It worked for Multiversus."

And while they are at it, simp Nick and Paramount for their approval until they throw the two under the bus, especially during Paramount's dumbass donation to Israel just for customers to order the game.

If it wasn't for the crossplay, this game would be dead by now. Going from 2500 to barely 200 in a 2 month isn't good.

Also everyone favorite person had been layoff from the project. Apparently he haven't been working on the project since September.

According to the developers, Nickelodeon wanted Grandma in the game and they couldn't uses the babies since they didn't want other character to be beating up infants. While Maximiliandood did make videos for nasb1, he haven't made any videos for nasb2 outside of him playing it with his friends on twitch. They lost alot of goodwill when they try to push the first game as a Smash Killer on the same level as Ultimate when in reality, the game was just some budget bin shovelware. No one going to fall for that shit again.

This makes sense, but I think Angelica would have been a fine compromise. She's meant to be older than the other characters and there are plenty of kids on the roster. Plus she's a shit. Not to mention there's no reason Stu isn't a character, he's the OG Nick meme dad and being a toy inventor gives him a lot of room for a good moveset.

Not that I've played this and I haven't watched Rugrats in a century, but Reptar by himself always seemed like an odd choice. Then again, this entire roster is odd choices.

Reptar is basically the series mascot at this point. All of the merchandise seems to center around him, so it is not that strange to have him alone on the roster.

This would explain his slow descent into politasperging and attacking his own game. I wonder why he got fired as he worked for Ludocity, which had little involvement in the game and is pretty indie?

Also a funny thing to note is that his politics got so bad that even Redditors on r/AllStarBrawl unfollowed him.
