I think @John Andrews Stan was 100% correct when he said, some days ago, that it's getting increasingly more of a pain in the ass to defend Aaron's handing of just about anything regarding what's been going on for the past year and a half.

I think if Wednesday ends in abject disaster for the Toe, people here should just acknowledge he's not gonna inflict any sort of L on Nick, and might actually be so retarded he's incapable of doing so ever.

Aaron's biggest failing in terms of handling this ongoing beef with Nick, from day 1, is that he saw this as an opportunity to make money as if it were a cross-town radio fight (Stern vs. OnA in the New York market, or whatever the fuck), and never really understood Nick is an evil son of a bitch who is looking to outright ruin Aaron (and working with others who wish to do the same). Nick isn't in the same boat as Aaron is, so he's not gonna play along so they can both mutually benefit from an online feud. He's got Mommy Celeste to prop him up indefinitely. Nick's show... whatever it is... doesn't need to be profitable. He subsists now on a combination of Petrofac, and hate.

Worse, none of this shit has gotten Aaron anywhere. His show still sucks, and so does his numbers.

Kurt had the right idea. He shut the fuck up, ignored Nick, and is doing his own thing. Consequently, Nick is now punching UP at Kurt, yet punching DOWN on Toe.

Rekieta may be a non-practicing lawyer who didn't practice much to begin with, but I think that even he has practiced enough to recognize that letter implies nothing good about the state of Aaron's case.

Just to round out the list, as @AnOminous and @RaptInPlastic have suggested earlier and as even Aaron's plebbitor a-logs are now doomposting about, the only conceivable "4D chess" interpretation could be that it's not unheard of for a client to fire their attorney (or goad their attorney into firing them) for the sole purpose of using "seeking new counsel" as just about the best possible excuse to obtain a continuance, second only to medical excuses. That continuance then allows more time to compile supplemental exhibits that so far are somewhat lacking, and far more importantly allows more time for Crackets to spew out more and more brazen violations of the ex parte HRO that remains in place, leading up to his conditional August 1st report date for which ex parte HRO violations could come back to bite him. That sort of hopium gives Aaron too much credit and gives local law enforcement way too much credit, and if true it could prove a disastrous gamble if the continuance ultimately isn't granted in the first place, but there will be some hilarious kino if it works.
