Bad news for Fortune's Run

About three weeks ago, Arachne had a major surgery. Everything should have went well and we were planning on resuming production at a slower pace about a week and a half later, with me taking over some of the more demanding responsibilities as she recovers for the rest of the year. That is no longer happening. She has had multiple complications from the surgery and had to be hospitalized in the ICU two days after being released from the surgery center. We've been bouncing around between different departments and hospitals for about a week now. Long story short, she was very ill and almost died but is now stable and has been released home into my care.

I am willing to bet money that the "wife" got his cock chopped off and the wound got infected.
Now the question is whether the surgery was covered by whatever government they are from or from early access sales.

Hmm, let's check out the latest updates from the anticipated 1970s Immersive Sim...

Very cool video game. Also a great marketing strategy.
Perhaps this post belongs in the stinkditch.

Great strategy! I bet this will definitely get people to buy your game! Also i'm honestly shocked that Spectra has genuinely alright graphics and isn't some horrible low quality mess. Oh, i'm sorry, I mean a "PSX inspired art style".

Anyone of you play Blood West? Looks pretty cool, thinking of checking it out, wondering if it's worth a look or another cased of endless hype for a mediocre game (looking at you Ion Fury).

Yeah, I only played the demo and the 1st chapter because it's all that early access offered and it was pretty fun. All about looting shit and sneaking.

Why do some of these pixel-shit shooters have such terrible performance? Is it low budget indie devs not being able to optimise properly?

Played Blood West and tried a bit of Prodeus on my laptop and they chug like crazy while more demanding modern games do fine. Hell, I played Amid Evil and Dusk on the same machine not long ago and they did absolutely fine.

If your game looks like it came from the 90s it should run on a potato.

Modern engines. You get this awesome tool that lets you make vidya 100x faster than the devs that you ape would ever dream to, but with it comes bloat made for AAA that no indie makes use of, modern DX renderers, stupid shit like raytracing, post-processing, half-baked features that never get finished or get deprecated without a replacement etc. And it's all running on pajeet code or plastered over a 30-year-old tech that was made by their betters and no one knows how the fuck it works anymore, like the tf2 coconut but in thousands of places and not as funny. An empty scene on a modern engine runs at hundreds of fps on modern hardware, while anything made in the past would achieve multiple thousands.
When you look into the credits of those games, it turns out that the teams are actually tiny, like a dozen people ACTUALLY making the game, and not being the publisher's accounting or "special thanks", so I don't assume they had a dedicated engine guy that would dissect the bloat. Also afair, Prodeus enemies are all rendered in 3D, followed by a shader applied that make them look like sprites - so it's a modern shooter under the meme effects.
But the devs are often to blame too. Boomer shooters are the pixelshit platformers of 3D games. A bright-eyed amateur placing a pill in-engine, making it move with some shitty tutorial's help, going "wow making a game is so easy" and never growing beyond that level of competency, spinning yandev-esque spaghetti code until the game becomes a slideshow.

I'm playing The Citadel atm, has anyone else played it?

I don't have a clue what the fuck is going on, it's like some sort of nightmare.

Also runs like dogshit.

I actually like that game (course I am a shameless weeb).

From what I've gathered, it was made by just one guy using the Unreal Engine 4, so it's not very well optimized. That said, the guy is working on a sequel, and from what I've gathered, he's learned quite a bit, as what he's put up so far runs a bit smoother.
