The remaster is based on an existing fan-made port called The Force Engine, the only reason to get the remaster is to play the game on consoles, the redone cutscenes are nice but i wouldn't pay 30 dollars for a remaster, specially if most of the money goes to Disney.

Just use The Force Engine instead.

After 5 years in development it finally launched:

Played it 1 day after because Schteam is shit and doesn't remind you if a game you follow gets released.
Sadly I can't really play it. Not because it's not fun, but because the keybinds don't work properly. I'm one of those poor souls still playing on arrows and the numpad, and binding any num key will also assign that action to every other key. Also it doesn't save, so you have to set them up again after relaunching. Still did the tutorial and the first snowy level without relics or saves simply because I couldn't access them. Despite that, it was as fun as I remembered it 4 years ago. The double shotty is up there with the Q2 SSG as one of my favorite vidya boomsticks.

It ain't no DemonSteele, though.

Reject the safe horny machine, retvrn to tradition and embrace anime girl

Finished Dark Forces and it's a great remaster of a decent game. Reminds me of the time you looked forward to new Star Wars content, and jamming Jabba and Bob Fett into your game felt fresh rather than just fan service. The combat hasn't aged very well since half the weapons are useless and you don't really need to change tactics depending on the enemy, but this is more a noticeable flaw than a deal breaker.

Also been playing Warhammer Boltgun. Whilst I know nothing about the WH universe it's still a blast to play, really good combat and does a great job of making you feel powerful. I also like how it only uses arenas sparingly, with lots of smaller encounters. Although if I'm being honest I'm just past the halfway point and it does seem to be running out of ideas slightly, the pacing isn't helped by the times you have to wander around trying to find the exit.

There's a fun new game in the works called DISDAIN. A demo with at least a couple levels is available. The game reeks of Quake 1 so much I thought the screenshots contained sections ripped straight from it, which didn't change when I started playing. Despite being in a very early stage it actually feels and plays like Q1, which is kind of sad, because I was hoping WRATH would claim that title.

So Phantom Fury comes out tomorrow, and it looks pretty bad.

Slipgate/Interceptor haven't learned anything in more than a decade of developing games.

That is such a tremendous shame. It was supposed to be the good version of Duke Nukem Forever. I wonder if dudes will bother to tinker with it to try to fix it? Ironically, just like Duke Nukem Forever.

I doubt it, Duke fans have been seeing this game and the studio as a joke long before release, and now said studio is having a spergout over the bad reviews the game is getting.

And so far, the only positive review is a sponsored video from lolcow Tyler McVicker.
