So I didn't see a thread about today's missile launch. While it old news nowadays when n.k. launches one of these, things seem to be getting pretty hot on the Peninsula. N.K. is a bit of a fascination of mine, I really think if kim feels like he's in a corner, china turns their back fully, he would absolutely go down swinging, I've never really been worried about them hitting the us, but Seoul is like 30 miles away and Tokyo is pretty close too. What do you guys think, is this just gonna cool down on its own like all the other times we thought the kims were gonna do something drastic or is it Korean War part deux

Well, if their track record with missile launches is anything to go by, Seoul and Tokyo would only be in trouble if they were directly beneath the launchpad.

Kim Jong-un is a lolcow in charge of a whole country and I hope he dies.

Seriously he begs constantly and spends the money on toys like this stupid ass missile, he's fat, he has to pay for sex, he's Chris. We should call him and yell :julay:

If we stop giving him attention (ie UN relief aid and development funds), he will eventually realize that acting out with missile tests and military drills is just screaming into the void.

Not that Kim Jong-un isn't a tard of the highest order, but the same things were said about the Taliban for a long time.

Seoul is well within range of their weapons. Personally I think this is a situation where nobody benefits from instability, china is not going to allow thousands of us personnel in n.k. I think they would intervene themselves then allow that. US has troops in japan, troops in s. Korea and close ties to Taiwan. China sees east Asia as their domain of influence, I'm really interested to see their reactions to this, china could bankrupt (if you could be anymore bankrupt) n. Korea in months. But if they push too hard kim may feel the noose tightening and react.

The biggest fear china has is NK deciding to strike them. Beijing is a lot closer to NK than they're comfortable with.

I think that's the least likely scenario. If N.K. is gonna go full tard it's going to strike at its mortal enemies, there's no glory for them attacking china.
If I'm China I worry more about millions of disease ridden, underfed, uneducated north Koreans fleeing the border into china. They still have small pox. You know what a small pox outbreak in a crowded ass chinese city would do?

If you execute your engineers for their first embarrassing mistake, nobody can learn anything.

This is why I don't worry about North Korea.

Small pox, you say?

People ask me all the time, "are the pandemic numbers really that bad"? And I have to say yes. The Chinese are way ahead of us in plague-ridden bodies and collapsing medical infrastructure. It's terrible, let me tell you. But we are doing this. Bigly.

Do you realize if you just edited the smallpox genome a bit and inserted one of the interleukins into it and then released that, that you'd have a version of smallpox that has a passcode to the human immune system that basically says "I'm okay let me do my biz" and you'd basically exterminate the human race?

I have spent the last 8 years studying collapse, and now I feel totally inadequate.

I was just thinking about PETA seeing 12 Monkeys as a documentary too.

Fire up the race war CRISPR!

Honestly, nobody on this planet wants NK with an ICBM. I'd rather have Iran with a fucking ICBM than NK. NK is unpredictable and will not go down silently

Iran is a regional power with superpower ambitions. NK is just flat-out bugshit crazy.

Iran and nukes is for lack of a better word problematic, but the Iranians will talk to you, negotiate, have a functioning economy more or less, N.K. has little to loose, you can't sanction them. Your certainly not gonna becomes friends with them.

So either you let them huff and Puff until something happens, or you try to get china to support a regime change. Anything else is gonna cost alot of peoples lives.

Well, it's gonna cost alot of NK lives no matter what happens, either they are purged by the next regime or killed by their current one. The really sad truth is shit hasn't been done about it because everyone benefits from it.

The US gets to use NK as an excuse to have a base in sk and Japan and China benefits from a wild card that other countries need them and gives them excuses for building island bases and a better navy.

Everyone wins but the poor peasant in Pyongyang
