Honestly? That last chapter annouyed me as it upgrades Deku from "Future Number One Hero" to "A fucking god in a super hero world." It gives a lot of lazy outs for Deku to just swap out a skill set and thus do absolutely everything himself forever, which hasn't been Deku's character at all. He's always at his best when fighting as part of a wider team, ideally made up of the core support cast.

I think it can be made to work. They didn’t give him 6 new Quirks that’s hes instantly mastered. He’s gotta figure out what five of them are AND learn to use them properly. Learning to use One For All has nearly crippled him multiple times over, and now he basically has to do the same thing again with six new Quirks. Not that they’re all guaranteed to be big huge powers either. I can understand people thinking it’s too OP, but I can see a way to write it well.

Hmm

Could explain why All Might had all that muscle

As far as I know the deal with All Might is he was beefy and muscular for most of his life, after his first big battle against AFO where he got injured that basically damaged him so much that his body because emaciated and shrunk but whenever he'd activate OFA it would allow him to return to his muscular appearance but it was kind of an illusion. I could be wrong, it's mainly the theory I've heard.

Last episode to watch until 8 months of waiting. Jesus, that excitement.

Just got into this anime a few days ago and I really like it (I’ve watched up to Episode 27 so far).

It's pretty good, I recently checked it out myself, I remember when the hype first started for it but I mostly ignored it since I didn't have an itch for anime at the time but I enjoyed it.

i just had a thought. any of you also think bakugou would be the type to come onto kf and dox someone, or be a lolcow listed here?

his jackass attitude makes me think of him being a kiwi user, for some reason.

Personally, he doesn't seem like the type of guy that would use his free time on the internet. He'd probably be the one insulting a lolcow if they crossed his path irl, but that's the most of it. Maybe end up on "Articles and Happenings" if the Sports Festival shows.

I think if anyone is a kiwifarms user, it would be Mineta and he’d be the type to try to use KF as his personal army.

Just started this series like a week ago and I dig it. It’s like if Naruto wasn’t overly serious, had a more likable cast and relied on more than just macguffins and edgy backstories for character development

This is a legit MAL page... on KF of all places.

Didn't expect that.

To stay on topic though, I tried to watch episode 1 and turned it off. I only watched that long because I heard such good things.
Yeah, this is not revolutionary shonen. It's extremely typical, and I grew out of typical shonen long, long ago.

Meh, not every anime needs to be deep and thought provoking to me, sometimes I want dumb fun and this show scratches that itch much more nicely than the disjointed mess that is Dragonball Super (not counting the Broly movie). I watch something like Gungrave when I want a deep, engrossing story about betrayal, loyalty, family, brotherhood, etc, I watch this shit when I want to see glowing men punch each other

Yeah, I really don't invest much time into anime anymore. It happens, but it takes a lot more effort than that to wow me.

And I guess I'm of the mindset that dumb fun and great themes/characters/story should not be exclusive; like you can only have one and not the other. A lot of my all time favorite things do both.

I don't get that vibe from 99% of shonen, especially modern stuff, or even things like Gungrave.

You're the first fan who just admitted it's just dumb fun; everyone else I saw touted it as this "REVOLUTIONARY NEW SHONEN; THE NEXT GENERATION" or things like that, to which my mind was blown by how easily impressed they were. It made me wonder if it was legit their first anime.

I like the characters and their arcs, but I’m still willing to admit that it’s dumb fun at the end of the day. And you know what, there’s nothing wrong with that. I love the game Ninja Gaiden Sigma, it’s one of my favorites on PS3 (yes I know it’s a port of a 2004 Xbox game), it’s an amazing game...but Ninja Gaiden is also really really stupid, just the way I like it

As for Gungrave...I couldn’t think anything funny or witty to defend one of my favorite animu, so I’ll just agree to disagree

Okay, Im thinking in getting into this series but can someone try to explain something to me first? (Unless it goes into heavy spoilers territory).
Im a guy thats used with cynical and dark animes (with varying qualities, I will admit) and usually people with powers are usually feared from hell and back (sometimes with good reason), kept in facilities where they usually escape having deep hatred for humanity (Elfen Lied for example). I guess what I am trying to say is that I always found MHA setting to be...how do I put it, too positive and bright? There is no way so many people having powers wouldnt lead to an apocalyptic or borderline apocalyptic scenario. Dont get me started on how the goverments of the world wouldnt be work 24/7 on stopping the spread of this X Hero-Gene by containing any babies that show powers. Maybe its because I watched far too much cynical entertaiment (X-men being mostly about how people with powers would NOT simply just get accepted). And even if the "heroes" outnumber the normals, dont tell me it wouldnt lead to some sort of Magneto styled nightmare where normals would be seen as a genetical dead ends to be abused and enslaved. Also assuming everything goes correctly, who's to say the heroes dont cause more damage than they solve? (its a classic question Im not sure if it brings up).
Anyway, can someone give me some insight, please? Its one of those "just go along with the setting" like One Piece ?
