Also, as per this week's author's note, apparently Hori's ears have been leaking fluid for a while.

"Fluids kept coming from my ears, but now it finally stopped. My ears were at the brink of death, that was close!"

It may honestly just be because of some ear infection, but the recent "quality" of the manga makes it look like his brain is liquidising & leaking out of his ears.

That would honestly explain a lot, quality has fallen off a cliff, if either his brain was filtering through his ears or he just had headaches or whatever, I could see it impacting the story. Though it ended up falling to the usual final arc failing of going into too much detail and stakes.
 
Chapter 407 is out & with it came the backstories of One For All, All For One, & the origins of Quirks. Horikoshi has basically let his intrusive thoughts win this week & turned into Axeman (Spy x Family mangaka), which has led to us getting the "based retard" of a chapter.

It's like Hori read the "X-MEN Mutants were actually made out of a mistake" from (I think?) Ultimatum, & mashed it with the Pool's Closed shitpost about the pool having Stingrays with AIDS. That, or he wanted to make his own Tokyo Ghoul ending. (For the uninitiated, Ghouls were a virus, a virus that a bunch of Illuminati fucks wanted to contract, who were in service to a family of inbred ghouls. This led to the entire plot.).

Not really given he keeps dragging out many things. Like he keeps saying how he wants to end the series yet insists on dragging out all the All for One fights, trying to cram every possible character in for a cameo even if they're pointless, and making stuff happen for the sake of coolness and referencing the MCU/Star Wars.

Horikoshi has suffered brain rot from being a shonen jump author and no one has tard wrangled him so he just keeps doing stupid shit. He's a great artist, but he's a terrible writer.

tl;dr Horikoshi is a westaboo for basically Disney Star Wars and the MCU

I'll read this trainwreck when it reaches mangaplus, but the series has been shit since "oooh Midoriya so edgy" onward and the core premise of the series already got invalidated with Iron Might being better than 90% of quirked characters. I'm just waiting for Deku and Bakugo to make out and suddenly make both AFO and Shiragaki implode due to the power of love or whatever.

So I'm just following it out of inertia, so I say "go full retard like Bleach, it will at least be funnier that way".

Iron Might is probably the worst thing to have happened since it was an extremely pointless fight that breaks the lore and utterly ruins All Might’s character (like he his this suit from everyone so he can have a 1v1 with AFO despite the fact if he brought it earlier, AFO would’ve been dead instead of continuing to be the anchor that is dragging the series down) just so he can get himself saved by Bakugo who also revived in a really stupid manner which Horikoshi really makes stupider by commenting on it.
