Nicole's episode is on now.
It's definitely one of my favorites. I wouldn't call it a hate watch, but it is pretty batshit. Some highlights:

-Nicole and her boyfriend (and whole family, really) are white trash as shit. Take a shot every time you see an Insane Clown Posse/ Hatchetman image.
-Nicole get's bathed on her back porch.
-Nicole's family sublets some of their rental house. The subletter was dealing drugs and the police RAIDED THE ENTIRE FUCKING HOUSE
-Nicole's kids are not in a healthy environment. Aside from Nicole's weight, the grandmother has a temper and does not want to be (almost) raising her kids and they constantly hear hard swearing and witness family fighting.

EDIT:
During the raid, a cop made Nicole lift her stomach/ fupa to make sure she wasn't hiding drugs.

People like this (and most of the cases on this show) don't want to lose weight but rather just want fame and to be on TV. Being famous and on TV is like the end goal of every white trash person ever, they don't care how embarrassing or how they do it, they just want that 15 minutes of spotlight.

lmao, I don't know who I feel worse for, her family who got their house wrecked by the cops, or the cop that searched beneath her panis for drugs.

I think that was more the likes of Polly. I would assume the show vets their applicants since this is a major undertaking, plus the risks of surgery. I'd like to think Dr. Now is a doctor first, freak show ringmaster second so he wouldn't waste his time on people who he knew off the bat had a 0 chance of success.
And honestly, from the few 'where are they now?' update shows there are a few people who did majorly cut down. I don't know who it was (she was brunette with serious cheek bones) but she lost so much weight Dr. Now wanted her to gain a few pounds so she could have more skin surgery. That's probably the exception to the rule, but I don't think the show is snatching up every applicant.

I think the issue is more that the people on the show are deluded and not committed. Off the top of my head, I think only Polly and Steven are actually there to just BS and get TV "fame".

He wants to be an actor? I cannot envision many screen roles for him considering that on any film or TV set, his sheer mass will cause gravitational lensing and distortion effect on all light in his vicinity.
They already made Whats Eating Gilbert Grape

Hey, tomorrow is the Rangers first playoff game, so I'll be airing the second installment of Steven and Justin's episode in about half an hour here: http://autism.ink/r/Drunk_Kiwis

In the meantime, I'm playing a couple of episodes of Kenny vs Spenny, a competition show between a sped (spenny) and a charming sociopath (kenny) in which the loser much do a humiliation, and then after all that is a doc about what would happen in Britain was nuked.

The one I was really rooting for was Melissa. She was just so positive and so determined to lose the weight. She eventually became a counselor for other people who were going through weight loss surgery. I did hear she gained some weight back (she's around 200), but I have no doubt she'll be one of the success stories. I remember she said that originally as a child she was molested by a relative and turned to food for comfort, and believed that by gaining weight, she felt she'd make herself unattractive, which would protect her from her abuser. :(

Billy Robbins disturbs me, big time, although not nearly as much as his mother. So like, your son's 800+ pounds, and you have to give him sponge baths because he can't fit in the fucking shower -- and then you're at the grocery store, fulling up the buggy with chips, pop, cookies, sugary cereal, ice cream, etc. But he likes good food -- broccoli -- but of course, you can't have broccoli without cheese! And if that isn't bad enough, on the way home you stop off at McDonalds for his lunch: 2 Big Macs, large fries and a large coke.
Dinner? Why two sloppy joe sandwiches (smothered in ketchup) and fries. (Couldn't you at LEAST fucking put them in the oven?)

I"m not saying he doesn't bear some responsibility -- dude's 19. But good god, women. I have no doubt if Billy did make an attempt to lose the weight, Mommy Dearest would freak the fuck out and do everything she could to sabotage his efforts.

After reading this thread, I completely lost my appetite. Anyone who has trouble dieting needs to watch that show. How can you love food so much that you'd rather lie in your own filth, letting your body rot and grow fungus, making your kid wipe your ass, rather than try and live a normal life? There are people out there who are bed-ridden through no fault of their own who lose control of their bodies, and naturally have to deal with this kind of thing. (A stroke, a serious accident, some kind of serious illness, etc)

But to do it just for food? I know it's a mental disorder, but good god, my sympathy only goes so far. It's not an excuse for being a dick, as long as you're of sound mind. And James K. obviously knows right from wrong, he just doesn't give a shit. So it's okay to abuse his family. I can't imagine anything more humiliating than letting anyone in my family clean up my shit, or whatever, and the idea that I was doing so voluntarily, that I could choose to do something to change that? FUCK THAT SHIT. (No pun intended)
And to ruin his daughter's future like that? WTF? His girlfriend wants to throw her life away? Fine. Their daughter? No.

I just, I cannot.

They had a "Where Are They Now?" special tonight for Brittani and Sean from a few seasons ago. Brittani's transformation is amazing, she's lost over 400 lbs and looks so much better and happier. After watching shitheads like Steven and Jake earlier this season her honesty, self control, and gratefulness was a breath of fresh air. I really hope she continues getting better and can keep the weight off.

Watching Sean's mom get verbally BTFO by Dr. Now was great.

I think Sean is mentally challenged. I watched his original episode last year and he always had a game boy in his face, spoke slow and one time when a counselor came over, he was reading a little kids book.

I was wondering that myself. There's just something "off" about him, but it's hard to tell if that's because of a mental disability or due to his mother keeping him prisoner all day. It was sad to see him get so stoked about going to the grocery store and seeing the produce section in person.

Is there anyone who's been on the series that could be a Prader-Willi case? It comes with developmental delays, I haven't seen the Sean episode but if he is childlike in mannerisms and intelligence, obsessed with any and all kinds of food (not just the junk) and prone to behavioral problems it might be PWE instead of just plain bad lifestyle. Then again, surely Dr Now would run checks for that before considering anyone for bariatric surgery?

(Off-topic, I know of one woman with a PWE child who is an average weight for his age, he does eat round the clock but she keeps nothing in the house to snack on but raw vegetables, fruit and rice cakes. It's nearly impossible to keep their weight under control unless you adhere to a lifestyle that would make a Franciscan monk grind his teeth in despair.)

I don't think so. At least from what I've seen in other Prader-Willi syndrome documentaries, it's identified early and patients and families work very hard to make sure they don't end up with a 600 pound teenager. Weight loss surgery would also be useless on a prader-willi patient and thus doesn't make them a good candidate for an episode of my 600 pound life.

This would be awesome. I hate how they ignore the creepy feeder/fat fetishist relationships on the show. They just casually mention the partners who leave when the fatties lose weight, glossing over the fact he was feeder fetishist. It's weird they gloss over such a fascinating and major factor in the show.
Yes yes yes. They completely and dishonestly omit very crucial data. If you're going to tell a true story, present the whole story without glossing over unlovely pasts.

Pauline Potter spent a decade online on both a Yahoo Group and a major size acceptance online publication actively gaining and bragging about how many times a day her boyfriend did the deed, how much food she ate, and how much weight she wanted to gain. Sex and food were featured in everything she did online. Her goal, I believe, was 1000 lbs. This was years ago, way before anyone heard of this kind of pathology. She also posted many nude photos, some of which were X-rated. She made a career and a very visible lifestyle of morphing herself into a human grotesquerie, and to ignore that in her story is just plain dishonest: lying by omission. Not a surprise Pauline is one of the more unlikable people on that show, and she had lots of competition.

ZsaLynn, although a more sympathetic character, also made a "name" for herself doing the same thing as Pauline: posting sexy photos (not sure if they were X-rated, but they were somewhat revealing), actively gaining, and doing feeder photos and videos online for monthly payments. If you recall, she did call herself a "star" of the "BBW community", jetting around and bragging about her glittering life. (eyeroll) She completely embraced this lifestyle, even before she met her slug of a husband, Gareth. However, I give ZsaLynn credit because she finally woke up to the abuse, the insanity of her choices, and became a real mother when she managed to have a child (she weighed 500 lbs at the time). She got rid of the man who didn't love her in the slightest and got herself some help. But she is no innocent victim here. She, like Pauline, made some pretty self-destructive choices and did so defiantly so she could become a "star" in a fringe community.

Between the two, Pauline Potter is by far the more hateful and unsympathetic. I get that some women get caught up in the excitement of the idea that they can eat whatever they want and turn their partner on in the process. A whiny entitled Pill thy name is Pauline, and it never ceases to amaze me (forgive the cliche, it's early) how completely ungrateful some of these people on the show are. Of course, then we just saw Mr. Assanti, and he makes Pauline look like a stuffed sausage Pollyanna.

Holy shit!! I knew I had seen Pauline somewhere before. I remember a thread on these fucks eons ago on SA and she was one of the stars of it. Gotta love that after eating herself into a disgusting blob of immobility that she then expect Medicaid to pay for her care and surgery. She was such a rank, nasty bitch on the show too. I can't believe they didn't cover this extremely important info on her show. It's one thing if it's a private "feeder/gainer" situation but entirely another when the cow has put themselves out there publicly for years trying to make a career out of being an morbidly obese porn star.

Great info to dig up and I had no idea about ZsaLynn but can't say I'm surprised either. I bet a lot of these cows have feeder porn pasts.

Nikki's update was last night. She's probably one of most mature and intelligent people on the show. She had to have skin removal surgery and she was stuck in Houston for 2 months in a rented lake house that was stuck in 1978. She had to be hooked to and carry aroundthis machine that sucked excess stuff (?) from her all the time.

There was no update on her relationship with her bitch of a sister though. Her sister told Nikki that she didn't want her kids around her, that Nikki was a bad influence just because of her weight. Nikki works as a costumer for a kids theater.

One of the things I simply don't understand in these shows is the massive calorie intake. I mean, women are supposed to intake around 2000 calories and men 2500. Some people eat a little less to maintain weight if they're less active or lose weight should they wish to. Eating a full 2000-2500 calories is difficult, I think. Saying it's two large meals and a snack in between.
So how in god's fucking name do people scoff 10,000-20,000 calories PER DAY?
It really grosses me out. I saw a fat person show once and (I'm not sure if it's the girl mentioned a few posts above) but she was actively gaining for internet points. Her boyfriend would put a whole tub of ice cream in with a whole cartoon (2ltr) of milk and some chocolate sauce and shit - into a blender and then feed it her through a funnel.
Who doesn't like milkshake? But fuck, man. That shit looked NASTY.
