Last weeks episode, Episode 2 of Season 13, Krystal A is now available here, too (link should last for 3 or 6 months there).

It's hard seing her caretaker/ex-addict/husband hanging on her constantly, when the intent is to be more independent. Will be interesting how that works out once she overcomes her problems. Will he have to evolve, too? He even got more of the "addict-look" to him the more she progresssed. She sounds exhausted, more so after the surgery than before, it feels like.

ETA: Season 13, Episode 3 Karen's Journey (this week's episode) is also there now
1737044657708.png
She has made her little girl her perfect little caretaker, she doesn't even mind helping mom. 6 eggs for breakfast? Make that 12. Daughter Amber does understand, that when you're not feeling well, you want a treat to make you feel better. Of course.

She's in school at 42 to be a counselor. It sounded as if she said she already was one?

Makes her son do the shopping, while she directs him via phone from the car, sitting in the parking lot. She usually doesn't even do that, because anxiety, panic attacks, depression and mobility issues.

Her goal is participating in their graduation next year. (spoiler within spoiler: She won't)

Amber doesn't think, that mom has a food addiction. She just eats a bit more.

Online appointment with Dr. Now. She then starts "following his guidelines", eating peanut butter on toast and a banana for breakfast. That'll do it, for sure. And fruit - it's healthy, right?

And the same lady with the same scale being delivered to her house is letting her down again!!

She is not happy about the way Dr. Now and his staff are treating her!! She knows she's lost more than the scales say, even her own scale lies to her! She'll do well on her own, she knows it. Amber thinks so too, of course.

Conclusion: We got a Karen.

-The End-

I just watched the episode about Karen.

She loses maybe 30 lbs in 7 months, insists the lady coming to weigh her is being rude to her, and exhibits a hilarious sort of learned helplessness. Agoraphobia is her excuse for everything. I wouldn't be surprised if she was some kind of catfisher considering how much she seems to appreciate attention from men.
edit: each weigh-in she insists she lost 100 pounds instead of 10 or 20

Season 13, Episode 4 - Gary's Story can be watched here for now (if servers are full, wait and refresh page)
1737616515686.png
He already requires very special specialty care for this ginormous existence he established. Not only do they need to wash, rinse and dry him everywhere, he needs to be washed and rinsed twice before being dried everywhere. Imagine having to do that for him. Every morning.

After his caregiver leaves, mom comes around to cook breakfast. That's when everyhing turns around, he says.
She tells us how doing everything for him every day wears her out. What a shame.

First video call with Dr Now shows his delusional state. Not being able to get out of bed seems to be the only problem. And having a late breakfast, oh no. But he admits to, in addition to his mum and caretaker feeding him, using delivery apps and having spent thousands on that.

He is avoidant in his answer to Dr Now on how this is gonna end. He is willing to sacrifice and not eat as much as he does. We'll see how that goes. Will be surprised if any of this works. Dr Now is good, breaking it down to the next step to only having to be able to get out of bed.
Gary even will get PT to work with him three times a week.

Oh nooo these feet, these nails!!
1737621553268.png

1737621651530.png

1737621712356.png
He seems to have neglected the leg exercises and does nothing in between the PT visiting him, so after two months he still can't walk, only stand up to the walker with help for a few seconds. He hasn't even been able to be weighed at a local clinic yet.

Dr Now gives him one month to make more progress. Gary shows some irritation about that.
One month later it still hurts, so he "hasn't been able to get a lot of workouts". Avoids facing Dr Now.
A transport is coming anyway. He barely fits through the door and hangs over the stretcher on the sides.

1737623029339.png

Weight is 764 and apparently there was an earlier weigh-in one month earlier at 745lbs. Wow.
He wants to "eat more healthier" after 5 months. He "hasn't been eating unhealthy, he just needs to eat less" he says.
Estimation by Dr Now is close to 8000 calories per day to maintain this weight.

"I'm not eating that much." - favorite phrase ever. He even gained!
Mom, who feeds im daily, does think it's because he's not mobile, that his weight is not going anywhere.

Next step: Into the electric wheelchair. He hopes to receive praise from Dr Now for all that "progress".
He even has been trying to eat less starches, less rice!

He fails to show much progress. Admits to have been bullshitting for the past 6 months.
He really believes, that Dr Now seemed pretty impressed, or at least he tells the camera that, although Dr Now was not impressed at all, to the contrary.

He even is less scared of the transport to the local clinic this time. It's obvious, that he hasn't taken control of his situation at all.
He "lost" 5 lbs, so nothing has been changed. Now how did that happen? Inconceivable.

Last ultimatum to lose 70lbs over the next two munt. 40 lbs in a munt.
"I told my mom only salads."
753lbs.

It's not fair!
He lies to Dr Now, that he did 50% walking to his transport this time. He did only get into his wheelchair and they still had to carry him for a bit.

Gary was another do-nothing POS who couldn't even haul his bulk to Houston.

This show is really scraping the bottom these past few seasons. It's been shit ever since Covid.

I really wish the show would enlighten people about exactly how these human blobs manage to be cared for while eating themselves to death. How much the govt pays for people to eat themselves into nursing home level care and even provides the food.

I realized a few years ago that many people actually think MSPL is paying for the surgery.

There have been a few exceptions but 95% of the participants are on Medicaid. Medicaid pays for their surgery, for their medical care, usually is paying whatever enabler they have living with them, local transport and receive disability checks. Most live in HUD subsidized places and get food stamps. The biggest drama you usually see on the show is the out of state travel, or moving to Houston, because that’s the ONE expense that Medicaid won’t cover for them.

A running tab of how much they cost Americans on the screen, during their appts, food stamp grocery shopping, nurse visits, housing, etc.., would be great but id settle for them not hiding the economics of this BS.

It reminds me of how for decades scripted sitcoms and soap operas always studiously avoid any mentions of economic realities and income. How one made money to survive was only vaguely alluded to and any realities of economic daily life were almost never mentioned. These shows do the same thing. Nobody broaches the subject of how an unemployed adult can lay in bed eating themselves to immobility for years.

Someone should devote themselves to YT content calculating the costs of these each of these beasts on the show. Most viewers don’t seem to think much about the issue, but it should be front and center on the show. Maybe they could get Trump to sign an executive order banning welfare and Medicaid and disability benefits for anyone over 375 lbs. If nothing else you’d suddenly have 374 be the maximum weight of the majority of unemployed obese Americans.

Mom says, he "depends on her for pretty much everything", but in reality it's lil sis, whom they both depend on.
He also has a caregiver, so that he doesn't have to move at all.
Why would he change!

DeShaun was such a lazy fuck he couldn't even enunciate, to the point they had to caption him the entire episode.

Not even as much as a weigh-in at any point, let alone a trip to Houston.

Waste of time (and oxygen).

Season 13 Episode 7 Juan's Journey (Feb 12, 2025)
crappy edit for YT reasons can be watched here for now, flixtor has been full all day.
Juan's a pastor worshipping food. He really made it to 47 and over 600lbs.
1739548667106.png
ETA link on flixtor
Wow, when he said he was in to much pain to do the workouts and just hoped that "his best would be enough for Dr Now", I guessed he may have lost 20lbs by his next weigh-in. He only lost 9 lol
So he managed to fail even better.

Nutritionist comes in. His mom does most of the cooking, his brother is just as big as he is, but they all just sit there and let the nutritionist do her thing, not even pretending to be interested.
He really applied himself this time. He lost 18 lbs.

Dr Now is exceptionally mild with this one.
Next weigh-in two months later, he even lost 24 (not 70 lbs). He really feels the internal growth coming in now, after seeing Dr Paradise.
... he finally made it to 505 lbs. So he's right there, being 1 ALR unit of 2023.
They do some lovely singing in his worshipping group.
This is where he is as a pastor (or was at least in 2023/2024, they do their rehearsals there for another christian group called Outlet Ministries): 216 W Main St, Gramercy, LA 70052, New Zion Christian Center (Baptists); this should be his Facebook; Facebook2; Linkedin

Just now noticed, that I slept on the "WATN" episodes:
Carlton & Shantel on flixtor (February 19) - two very slow trainwrecks for the price of just 1:23 hours!

omg
1740827879006.png 1740827998116.png

Thederick & Lindsey on flixtor (February 26) - that's the one with the mu-hassive lymphedema boil dangling beyond his balls and a very -fierce mother kicking his ass to retrieve the bin after feeding him nearly to death. His heart is too compromised to do the surgery right then.

1740841883185.png 1740841999420.png

But surprise surprise, momaship is detaching herself! It's not pretty, but seems to work.
1740842463333.png
it probably weighs over 60 lbs, says Dr Now and was over 40 inches?! It was 66 lbs.

1740845208217.png
Half a Dr Now for comparison:

1740845318719.png
...which brings Thederick down to under 500 lbs, this will allow him to move better before he probably gets a gastric surgery.
And he does after some talking-to from Mom and Dr Now.
1740848012421.png

And then there is Lindsey. She has a special relationship with food. She just loves it.
Paul really loves Lindsey. His emotional turmoil about her behavior is heartbreaking.
She already had a gastric sleeve done!
1740842891981.png 1740843004907.png

She still makes him get her the snacks after seeing Dr Now, but Paul is getting angry.
Okay, so she takes mom, because she and Paul "have been fighting a lot".
Dr Now doesn't mince his words with her.
She fails, returns to Iowa and then screams at Paul some more.
He's had it with her and doesn't even come to her surgery. He's an alcoholic.

He leaves her and we get a nice lesson about co-dependency by Dr Paradise at 1:13 hrs in. He's just so good at getting straight to the point. "You're cooperating with the dependency. (..) They're really good at cleaning up after the alcoholic. (..) They may even promote the addiction, because they know that's their best quality. (..) Their best quality is their ability to clean up after that person."

Latonya Pottain, one of the more obnoxious stars of " My 600-lb Life, " has died from chronic congestive heart failure.

Despite her best efforts not to do anything, she lost 30 lbs during the show, and in a GoFundMe from a couple of years ago, she blamed the show's fans and insurance for her stalled weight loss.

Excuse the reactor in the corner, I couldn't find this shot anywhere but in his reaction video, and the eggo waffle in bed shot is what I remember her for the most.

She only made it to age 40.
Pottain’s preliminary cause of death was listed as acute … chronic congestive heart failure and [the] manner of her death was listed as natural.
There is nothing natural about weighing 740 pounds. I hate Clownworld so fucking much.
