The burden of proof is on the plaintiff, sir.

I don't know where the scatplay is in the game, but near the end of the story, Wanda's boss is seen (and heard) doing "cheese shots" off a BMP party member's belly, which might be related?

Yeah, not sure how that gets conflated with scat. The writing does throw cheese at everything. Cheese like booze, cheese like cigs, or even weed. Blue cheese is straight up a drug.

It's like everything else where the antag groups are confusing, you go through shrews like copy paper too.

EDIT: I'll drop my thoughts while I'm at it. At first, I found the game to be just okay, with a lot of what has been previously mentioned echoed as I played through. Now? I'm still following two questlines, and I'm not fucking done. This is kinda dragging its feet. And why the fuck is the circus trying to waste my time?

Such as, the problem isn't the game has references, its that those references are just pop culture. Cuphead was a game that really appreciated old cartoons, Mouse PI is a game that liked Cuphead. Its not a love letter to Noir or the rubberhose style, it just emulates the style.
Something I hate with "meta" media is that it relies heavily on references or established conventions that it does not have an original bone in its body. It doesn't exist itself, something else HAS to exist for it.

I really think thats the biggest thing here, its the only reason it stands out
extreme stylization but as you say..... theres literally almost nothing else about it
That basically describes the majority of indie gaming scene - take a beloved old/indie game and repeat it almost exactly with unique artstyle (for that specific genre), or alternatively mash two/three genres together. Make it roguelike if you don't want to bother even doing basic level design.

Gaming is dead not because of corporate greed, but because we replaced programmers and nerds with failed artists and writers to shit out zero effort unitt/unreal "games".

It was said in a video making fun of shitty indie TTRPG systems being written and made by failed writers

It really feels the same, they hyperfocus on one or two gimmicks and make everything else at the most mediocre.

Well I gave the game a try and it seems like there's a weird "marxist doctrine" when designing games these days. I'm not saying that because the game is woke, but I'm saying this because games made by this generation are so obsessed over "balancing" or "utilitarian" type game design. "Everything is useful and used for specific utility!" I'm going to plagiarize a meme from 4chan.

When the DOOM creators made the shotgun in the original DOOM they went off of a simple philosophy, "The shotgun fires multiple rounds in straight line and if you dead aim the enemy, it kills the lesser enemies in one shot, the bigger in two maybe three depending on what enemy, and it can kill multiple enemies at once if you aim it properly." That's it.

When the MOUSE devs made the shotgun in MOUSE, they went off of "The shotgun does a lot of damage at close meaning it can do a 2.15653424652 multiplier at the closest range and if you're too far away it'll do 0.55323232% instead. This is to better balance the shotguns utility as to prevent the player from just sniping enemies from afar with the shotgun because that would ruin the overall balance of the weaponry in his possession and the player would complain that there's no reason to use anything else. We've also added an upgrade system for the shotgun meaning they can do 6% the damage at max, but this is so that the player is better scaled with our scaled up enemies because without a system implemented to ensure the player stays at an even playing field with his adversaries, he'll complain that he feels overpowered, so we've better balanced the weaponry so that's not the case and the player can stay relatively even with his enemies and keep the game a challenge."

Obviously that's not 100% accurate, that's just a broad stroke, but that's usually the reason why these psuedo-doom clones are never fun. Guns are just utility for certain situations now, not fun power tools the player can just mess around with to blast enemies sky high.

Ah well I quit and switched to 77p.
The fact I've seen anyone even mention the existance of this game is a miracle. I still need to get around to playing it myself, but its just so fucking obscure that I had to mention my surprise. I'd be just as surprised to see someone mention BRAZILIAN DRUG DEALER 3.

It's a shame I haven't heard the best things about Mouse. Gameplay sounds like its solid enough, but misses the mark of what makes boomer shooters so fun like @An Ordinary Ordinator mentioned. Then throw the woke virtue signaling bullshit on top to utterly bury its appeal...

This is a game I probably would of still bought and given my time if it wasn't for the later, I can tolerate sub-optimal game design, I can't tolerate being preached to by some of the most immoral hypocrite faggots on the planet.

Brazilian Drug Dealer 3 is just Quake, but it works because finding random Quake wads and clones out there is always a treat

I still cannot place any wokeness yet. I could be wrong.
There's that thing where you punch a BMP agitator. It stood out to me as the hub is normally uneventful, and is just some event that's obviously dropped there to make a point.

Well, except that by the time you trigger that, you've already killed quite a few jews shrews. The game is very inconsistent like that.

The only thing that speaks cartoonish to me about this game is the sprites. The environments don't have that feel and look like a source game with a black and white filter.
