Capcom has confirmed end of support for Windows 10. Playing will still be possible obviously but future updates (for Wilds unless they start messing around with the previous 2 titles) may not work with Windows 10. I think people are overreacting since I can't imagine any game can be incompatible with Windows 10, I mean there are people still on windows 7 and older. Unless they deliberately make it incompatible, people are making mountains out of mole hills...for now, again if they deliberately make it incompatible then it's an issue.
Crosspost since this is the only other semi-active MH thread.

Did the omega savage after a couple tries as Lance with a premade and after a few hours pubbing as an HH. I like the fairly sizable bump in the level of difficulty but I imagine that there’s going to be some really unhappy campers whining on Reddit and Xitter. Maybe the developers will ignore them this time since it’s not like they can review bomb the game any lower?

I checked the general thread on /vg/ and it's full up to the brim with the most miserable brown faggots you can imagine right along with endless complaints about the fight and the collab in general. How much of it is genuine is completely up to your own judgement but I would guess very little of it. I'm hoping Savage doesn't get nerfed too much if it does at all. It's a Savage fight it's supposed to be really difficult.
Overall I think it's a pretty good collab and I'm looking forward to the corresponding collab in XIV.

I still think this FF collab is retarded, but it's Wilds so most things about that game are retarded (including most the players, no offense) so eh. But any complaints about difficulty in the easiest mainline monster hunter game is a midwit and should be beaten. Also, it's /v/, even if it was the best MH made they'd still shit on it in mass.

To be fair, the Savage version of the fight is kind of shit. It's not significantly different from the normal version other than Omega having his 3rd phase moves from the start and an even more obnoxious DPS check in Nerscylla with an even beefier health pool. I've managed 4 Savage completions solo with support hunters by a gnat's nut hair each time. Trying with friends is futile because none of them can even make it to the DPS check and randoms are worse. I managed to get all the Omega Data 2.0 I needed and I'll stick to the normal fight for part farming, fucking doing that again.

I don't think Capcom understands "difficulty curve" in these games anymore. Up until Zoh Shia, you really didn't even need to upgrade your gear, and Savage Omega is like Alatreon/Fatalis levels of difficulty. Fun fact, Savage Omega has more health than either, and you have 35 minutes to chip away at it in HR gear. Hell, after spending the last few days beating my head against Omega, Lagiacrus and Seregios feels like peanuts. I don't mind difficult fights, but I hope Capcom's new definition of "difficult" isn't introducing wonky mechanics and strict time limits. Just let me hunt megafauna with the boys.

I've cleared the fight in 17 minutes with some real freaks of nature that I ran into the other day. It's definitely hard, but it's a fight designed around traditional FF party roles and monhun players just aren't used to that, which I suspect it's what's contributing to the divisive nature of the fight. It's a miserable fight with randoms for sure, but it's also a Savage fight. I play XIV so maybe that's why I don't mind that it's extremely difficult. I'm just used to Savage meaning a higher tier of silly difficulty.

That being said, normal Omega is a great fight and I'll happily stand by that. You're right though, Wilds has a very linear difficulty curve which is part of the problem. I do think this will remain as a one-off style rather than typical fight design going forward.

So Omega is just a repeat of the Behemoth? People getting filtered because they don't understand the mechanics?
It’s moreso that the average player is just bad, the special MMO mechanics are optional for an easier experience but aren’t necessary (beyond the nerscilla dps check). With that said I’ve already seen the quality of the average pub rise as the players who were satisfied at clearing it for the loot (alongside those who got filtered by the difficulty and are whining on Leddit, Xitter, etc.) dip and go back to playing something else. I’m satisfied that Savage Omega is at least substantive enough for a couple of weekend hunts with the boys (and the occasional attempt at carrying randoms using HH, Lance, or SnS). Though I imagine BF6 will take up the majority of my multiplayer gamin’ time for the foreseeable future.

I used to say it was because Rise lowered the bar so much but then I saw the one guy get filtered by village Khezu so hard he triple+ downed on MH being bad, that's when I realized you can't lower the bar enough since this is just a side effect of MHW bringing in a much larger niggercattle audience.

Behemoth was peak monster hunter but the game is just not designed to teach people how to fight it which is a huge pity because monster hunter with actual raid mechanics is about as good as it gets.

People still struggle with bringing elemental shit to alatreon, the game just needs to add actual tutorials that spell these mechanics out in plain terms.

I really think crossover content should be relegated to armor and weapons in monhun. I'm just tired.
Even that is sad, dante devil sword chargeblade was one of the best chargeblade skins they've ever done with so many little details, incorporating force edge, alastor, ifrit AND trickster, while being incredibly lean and fitting like a glove with 90% of armors (something the majority of weapons still fuck up by being so gaudy), and we're never gonna see it again because its a crossover skin.

Definitely way better than behemoth. Not a great fight, but it's a fine time waster to do a couple times to break up the monotony of grinding the same 2-3 ultra giga star tempered. Savage is the definition of artificial difficulty though, just obnoxious dps checks and strict time limits and absurd hp bloat in place of actually making it more interesting to fight. I still can't say I'm happy about this being in the game over the 3-4 returning monsters with rigs already in the game that could have been added in the development time this took.

Also, people who are happy about wilds finally having difficulty beyond that of what a toddler with down syndrome can handle are gonna be REALLY disappointed when G rank picks up from and starts out easier than normal non tempered no extra bullshit high rank gore magala, just like Iceborne picked up from and started out easier than xeno rather than extremoth or ancient leshen or AT nerg.

Biggest monster of MH Wilds and it's a fucking collab slop-job of "Uhhh sci fi future tech ebony armor type shit". At least behemoth was iconic.

I really wanna restart Wilds and take it slow and shit but just.. fuck, with only one palico and a permanent thot in your ass, the singular adventure is gone.

I want me and my wacky cats killing shit.

Ah the classic
Funniest thing is he’s a souls speedtranny and I’m pretty sure he called himself a “World Veteran”.

Yeah, for any of the remaining "duhhhhh, wurld ish sho much harder den rise!" retards, this guy got through world and didn't have any issues until he hit iceborne title update content, but got filtered by a village khezu after nearly timing out against village aknosom. Rise is still too easy, but that doesn't make world any less braindead.

Correction, he's a Bloodborne speedrunner iirc. Or at least Bloodborne is his bread and butter, so not even a "souls" speedrunner. :story:
