I think I may be an insane person, as I have played through the story 3 times now on my 3 different save files.
I tried real hard to give the story a shot, playing nipponese VA with subtitles, but after the first few times I resigned myself to skipping cutscenes the moment the little pajeet opened its mouth. I'm a hundred hours in and above HR100, but I couldn't tell you what the 'story' was about.I actually love that Nata is a naive kid who thinks we can coexist with ferocious apex predators
I hate how much I like our Hunter giving themselves the order. It's so fucking cheesy but it works so well. And I've said before that I love that our Hunter is clearly set up as a veteran. And since I rp'd it as my World Hunter, it fit perfectly. Also helped me cope with the lack of difficultyAlma giving us the guild's authorization to hunt something was a great recurring bit, and the final boss' version of it was a very cool moment. I like how the hunter is seasoned, and going by the default male voice, they are very reserved.
Wilds feel very "quit fucking around with nature" to me. What with the Frankenstein's Monsters and Gore being a living virus that disrupts the natural order. But I mean, all the games are about respecting and appreciating nature to some extent. And here is silly me thinking that wilds was about appreciating and respecting the forces of nature.
Same as every other game. "Big monster fuckery afoot. Oops, turns out a different monster is the problem. Double oops". Then G-Rank will drop and the story will be "dude you'll never believe it... but we got a monster problem. Maybe multiple".I couldn't tell you what the 'story' was about.
Base rise was terrible, but wilds is on a different level entirely. I feel like I'm at an absolute loss how to even fix this mess in a way that a realistic G rank dlc could go about. Rise had some pretty decent combat at its core, but needed more challenging monsters and a better variety of available builds. Sunbreak provided both in spades. The issues in wilds not only run deeper, I think at their core, most of them come down to an issue with the mindset at capcom when developing wilds, which makes fixing things not just a challenge, but borderline impossible. We're all insane here, you're in good company
Also I think that the negative feedback on the game's performance and the indisputable fact that the game isn't actually finished yet are valid, but I also remember base Rise and the shabby state it released in; that game really, well and truly turned itself around in Sunbreak and now its one of my favorite games in the series whereas base Rise was at the bottom before, so I'm willing to give the MonHun team some leeway on the disappointing release state of Wilds until they prove they aren't going to properly fix their shit.
If I ever was going to buy MH Wilds I sure as fuck am not now.Uh oh, it's not all sunshine and roses in the "MH community."

I'd like to add, following off on the fact the normalfags aren't going to put any pressure on crapcom to fix shit like everyone's been pointing out, but also expounding on what I said here, the capcom wilds survey. If you select that you haven't bought wilds, and don't plan to, you'll be prompted to select from a list of reasons why. There are no options for "there's barely any content", "the difficulty is DSP level", or "the first 20 hours is railroaded and barely interactive, spitting directly in the face of the concept of videogames as a medium", but there are options for things like "it's too intimidating to get into", "it's still too difficult", and "there's not enough focus on the annoying poojeet and his story".The issues in wilds not only run deeper, I think at their core, most of them come down to an issue with the mindset at capcom when developing wilds, which makes fixing things not just a challenge, but borderline impossible.
This guy is nuts (nigga!). He's posting like a maniac and trying to drag people who don't care into this insignificant drama, in fact some of the people he tagged pretty much said "ok, and?" What's funny is that the person OP is trying (and failing) to shit on here likes the game anyway. But because the guy OP is going after criticized one objectively shit practice OP is going ape shit. Seriously, look at this shit.Uh oh, it's not all sunshine and roses in the "MH community."

Unsurprising in the slightest, this is only good to look into the mindset of these people but otherwise this is just someone having a moment.Edit: I'm actually almost MATI over how retarded that thread is.
Considering they claim this game was successful for everything MH never was successful for in the first place (story, voice actors, etc.), yeah I don't trust them either. I shit on trannies and their advocates for the enshittening of my favorite hobbies but niggercattle are arguably worse. Parasites need a host and what better host to grow stronger from are people who either don't see or don't care about the creature sucking away their or their loved one's lifeforce.I'm just not expecting any sort of G rank turnaround like Sunbreak had, not only because there's more that needs to be done, but also because I don't trust this team to even try.
This dumb nigger really doesn't understand how the relationship between the consumer and corporation works. My business is a privilege that the corporation must earn through the quality of their products, not the other way around. The developers don't make these games out of the goodness of their hearts for us mongrels rolling in dirt and shit, they make them because it's literally their job. They can be passionate about the product they've made, but it's still very much a product, and anybody who doesn't recognize the relational boundaries between the consumer and the merchant is completely delusional.Uh oh, it's not all sunshine and roses in the "MH community."

Dose all of that even matter when the game will still sell 10 million copes in less then a month? This dumb nigger really doesn't understand how the relationship between the consumer and corporation works. If they don't want me to complain about their game playing and running like shit, then maybe they should release a finished game that doesn't play and run like shit, as opposed to their current model of deliberately cutting content out of the base game so they can market them as "free content updates", and blaming their consumers when their unoptimized desert shithole doesn't run well on high end PC's while the strobing black triangle gives little Timmy a seizure.
If 10 million piggies are content with paying for and eating shit then they will continue to be served shit. I don't see how that's a reason for me to drop my criticisms with the game and its content model.Dose all of that even matter when the game will still sell 10 million copes in less then a month?
Recent director message. They acknowledge the horrible performance and try to improving game stability at the end of letter. Well, the stability, not other performance, kinda shit.If they don't want me to complain about their game playing and running like shit, then maybe they should release a finished game that doesn't play and run like shit, as opposed to their current model of deliberately cutting content out of the base game so they can market them as "free content updates", and blaming their consumers when their unoptimized desert shithole doesn't run well on high end PC's while the strobing black triangle gives little Timmy a seizure.
Aside from balance changes (which is a good step they're taking), most of the title update content is content that should already be in the game, and we know that it was supposed to be in the game at launch because all of this shit was datamined from the beta months ago. Modders even added the full Gypceros fight to the first beta branch before he was even publicly revealed because Capcom is that bad at covering their tracks. Re-adding the final boss we already fought in low rank as "new content" is such a hilariously obvious tell of how gullible Capcom thinks their playerbase is, and the fucked part is that they're absolutely correct in thinking that, because all they need to do is jangle keys to Pokke Village music to get people lining up to kiss the ring.Recent director message. TL: DR beside new contents already announced. These should come around at the end of May or second TU.
Harder tempered of four Apexes. (This along with Tempered Mizutsune, Zoh Shia may making endgame less Gore and Arkveld).
More balance changes incoming, weak weapon like Hammer will receive buff. Corrupted mantle will get nerfed, other mantles get buffed.
They aware of how squishy monsters are in current state. They'll adjust health multiplier and wound generating.
More tweaking to UI and camera. The latter comes from complaint of how monster model goes invisible if camera being way too close.
Weapon layered is coming soon.
Whether they able to deliver better performance and making game properly more difficult remains to be seen. I don't expect Capcom will actively tweaking these things much and frequent. They might just shove little bit of improvement in any TU, that's it.
There was never really any sort of tracking in the games prior. You just ran around the map blindly looking for the monster and threw a paintball when it fled to a new zone. You could wave at the research balloon or drink a psychoserum to briefly reveal the monsters location as well, but that was the extent of the pre 5th gen games "hunting". Plus you eventually memorized their zones and just b-lined to them anyway, completely avoiding any semblance of "hunting".I remember seeing a video talking about how you don't need to track the monster anymore, which seems to go against the Hunter part of Monster Hunter.
The most telling part about this is that this faggot thinks he's too good for Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Pearls before swine, I say!Uh oh, it's not all sunshine and roses in the "MH community."
