Come to the thread and people are already bitching about w*men and brown people. Fucking christ.
Well, if you "want" my take on complaining. I'll say this.
The new Handler, she looks very plain and boring. If you ask me whether she was some npc from generic Western modern days setting game, I'll say she won't be out of place like Life is Strange or any horror game from Supermassive Games. But.... that will make it easier to tempt players buying DLC outfit for her, even more so than the old Handler.

About brown people or default player Hunter appearance, don't take this too serious from me, I think even I'm reaching a bit here. Saudia Arabia is putting their money in gaming more now, at least with Esports for now. Then you also have Kaname Fujioka (both him and Yuya Tokuda worked on 4u) as art director, he's also art director for SF6.

I'm not sure who's on Capcom having a thing with Western blonde having or making duck face, like Cammy since SF5.

Pale is the beauty standard in the Quran, friend. To the point you can see veins. They wouldn't want more browns.

Everything else is just ESG. That's it. Although, I suppose it's BRIDGE at this point.

Brown skinned people in a desert environment makes sense. But many here just want all games to have white people only even if it doesn't make sense. Horseshoe theory.

This would make sense on why the default main character looks like Abdul. Lets not kid ourselves, grorious nippon would not have done that by default without some "appeal to international market" incentives. I will admit that it's not like everything was lily white (or "stylized" Asians which is what I really think about when I think of any Japanese game) since the Monster Hunter 4 cast were also all very much in the tanned side and also started with some desert traveling.

Still, outside of the mystery child, nothing I would file as egregious. Also, I know waifus with hammers is always strong, but I'd rather the smithy was a big dude since we already had a lady smith with Sunbreak. I only hope that seeing Gemma looks like the gung ho type she doesn't become the "retard that causes things to happen" like the Handler in World was.

I do like how Wilds handler looks, prettier than the World one for sure even if a bit plain, but I do tend to be attracted to that sort of demure look. It also seems a lot less likely that Alma will behave like a raging retard getting into trouble constantly and then talking about how she will stuff herself like a turkey. I preferred the twins sure, but Alma looks fine.

Though to be honest, I know it's not happening, but I really hope the story is as irrelevant as it was in Rise. World was my first proper foray into MH outside of dabbling in 4 Ultimate but I'm well past "oh hot diggidy, that's a poocha poocha, it's an incredibly retarded and simple creature to kill that you can face roll to death, lets do an interaaaaactive section where we hunt it!" and I'd definitely appreciate stuff to speed up. Rise again was great since you could skip all the fucking gathering quests and go straight into the meat of things, my first hunt there was a gathering hub Aknosom and going from the outset in there without any hand holding really made me love the fire crane.

As for the new monsters. Both honestly look like shit. That the "first area" is desert really is not doing the game any favors either since it makes sense that they are craggy, ugly and with muted colors, but still, none of the charm of great jagras or the wow factor of Anjanath. Though these 2 are kind of busts, I do hope they are brave enough to try more new monsters (and a couple of new skeletons) and not just do another run through the usual staples.
Will swimming ever make a comeback
This might definitely be "monkey's paw" territory, but I'd like to see it come back as well and fight Lagiacrus in all of it's supposed glory. But I could also see it being a mess.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but if capcom pulls support from World, would I still be able to play by myself at least? I know the game requires an online connection to boot on the pc just to start it before being able to play offline, but I don't know if the check goes through Steam or through capcom.

Why the fuck are you doing that gay Twitter censor shit? Say it with your chest or stfu.

Anyways, I hope they bring the bbq spit back. I actually liked that dumb mini-game.
Gotta fit in with the faggots crying about females in a series that's always had plenty of women, who's sole focus is about killing monsters. Plus it easily baits retards like you obviously. Also since the bbq spit is one of the more, weirdly, iconic things in the series I'd be very surprised if it didn't come back. If they didn't get rid of it for World and Rise, where you could just run back to your tent and restock, it'd be retarded to get rid of it for this one.

Genuinely who gives a fuck about the handler(s)? Unless they go for what they originally planned for the one in World(she was supposed to be a hunting horn main who'd help out on hunts but got axed because the pallico filled that role and then some) then she'll just be there for story shit and to annoyingly spout dialog at you during hunts. Which is to say she'll be easily ignored and won't actually matter or impact the game in any way. Also if people are dumb enough to buy outfits for a character you only ever see in cutscenes and the hub/camp areas despite hating her design to begin with, they're fucking retarded and lack conviction.

Wow look at this cucked sand nigger lover bet you love DEI and troons too :smug:

I dont see why not. Once the support ends the only thing that should get hit is multi-player capabilities. But even then, since you play on PC, people will 100% end up hosting private servers like they have for basically every other game in the series.

I would expect this as well, but we are in clown world and didn't ubisoft basically kill a single player game cause "muh servers"?

Basically, we don't have any reason to believe capcom to be such cunts, but you never know. I would at a minimum make sure you have the latest version and all event quests downloaded since I can definitely see those becoming "lost" once servers are down.

Damn right, I'm not ashamed to say that I spent way too much time making Well-Done (and burnt) Steaks just to do that mini-game. They need a buff in my opinion, because no one really uses it later in the game when you just have Dash Juice and Mega Dash Juice. I remember when some fucking newfag hunter got upset at me for using Steaks instead of the Dash Juice (which I still used occasionally). God damn it I hope this game is good because I REFUSE to play Rise and I can only play the older games for so long. Though I'm tempted to give those Frontier private servers I try. I'm already weary of it due to Crapcom's bullshit with DRM so I expect the performance to be so awful I'd rather wait until someone cracks it (wishful thinking) and play solo forever than deal with Denuvo and whatever that other one was. All because some fucking coomer forgot to uninstall his tasteless nude Chun-Li mod instead of having some tasteful custom outfit, then again I'm pretty sure Capcom has been looking for an excuse to go after modding for ages now. *sigh* Genuinely getting a headache thinking about it...I miss Tri.

I have to agree with you here. ESG and DEI have broken so many people that even when they see brown people in a place that makes sense they vomit everywhere, even when they have said at one point or another that they rather have said brown people be in a place that...makes...sense. You can't win with some people. I'm 100% against ESG and DEI because it's nothing more than progressive cult propaganda but if the game itself is incredibly I rather just ignore the ESG/DEI than ignore the entire game, much as I hate to reward them with my money (not at full price, I haven't payed a full price game in over a decade).

From what I understand from rumors and vagueness, the underwater sections took way longer to make than the on-land sections (I mean you're moving in a 3D environment now, they have to add boundaries and other measures far more carefully), the engine was specifically made to handle underwater sections which they didn't want to bring to newer engines. Not to mention they'd need to make two movesets for certain monsters that could go on land and Sea, even if there were only really 4(?) monsters that could do that. The Japs also seethed at the very idea from Tri to 3U so hard that it's said that the expected profit margins were 50%+ less than expected just from the underwater combat. The devs also reported hated developing it, artists hated it so much that they and the devs mocked it in the official art book, no one seemed to like the underwater combat over at Capcom. But fuck them it's my favorite MH game and I loved the underwater sections, muh I-frames or not (MH fans when they have to actually dodge rather than abuse I-frames like a souls character).

You never needed and will never need to be always online to access all of MH World's features, I'm not sure where this "needs to be online to even boot it" you said came from but that's incorrect. There's always mods as well that can help as well, such as making the raids easier so you can solo them.

Idk what people are griping about when it comes to the new monster designs. They look great to me. Immediately recognizable as Monster Hunter designs. Fit their environment perfectly. Seem to operate in a way that makes sense for their design. People seem to have forgotten how much shit things like the Jagras and Anjanath got on reveal/release and are still shit on. Like we've got what are arguably the most basic bitch wyvern designs ever in the Raths, but somehow the new monsters are generic and boring? C'mon now.

I'm hoping that all the focus on this desert area, along with the little ships, is a hint towards Jhen being back. World had absolutely awful raid bosses, so a return to Jhen would be more than welcomed. All the raids in World were deeps checks which is always gay, with 2 of the 3 having insta-kill nukes just to really hammer home how hard you should go fuck yourself for not being a meta chasing faggot or a masochist willing to waste potentially dozens of hours to beat. At least Fatalis made sense with his bullshit. Alatreon and Safi were just a fuck you to a vast majority of players and Kulve is unironically more of a slog to do solo than THE Black Dragon that's been the final boss since MH1.

And yes, I did beat them solo because I'm a cunt who doesn't play online. So it's not just sour grapes or a git gud issue.
MonHun has unironically been one of Capcoms golden geese, and in more recent years, THE golden goose. Which is crazy because this is the same company that created Street Fighter. The game that completely revolutionized an entire genre and is arguably one of the most recognizable IPs in the entire industry. But when you look at how much they've fucked their surface level flagship compared to the sleeper hit that is MonHun, I feel like we can afford to give them at least a little benefit of the doubt. They know where their actual money comes from and I don't think they'd be willing to risk fucking their good will up like that. Seriously, MHWorld is the single most successful game in Capcoms entire catalog which is fucking bananas to think about. Out of all the all time great IPs they've created, it's this weird little, niche, species extinction game that mogged everything else they've ever done by a wide margin( ~20 million for World compared to Res7's 7 mil). Hell they even decided to officially promote a return to world. So I, optimistically, believe they wouldnt risk flushing all that goodwill down the drain. Not when we're on the cusp of what they clearly believe will be the next World level success for them. Going after private servers would be a one way ticket to getting fucked in the ass dry by their both the Nip and western markets.
@Rick The Stick stop acting like a lolcow
TIL making fun of people endlessly crying about (sand)niggers and women, despite the majority of characters showcased being white and conventionally attractive women, is lolcow adjacent.

Sorry dude, they just aren't working for me. I mostly blame it on the desert theme since none of the desert critters outside of Diablos, Tigrex or Cephadrome really catch my fancy.

The 2 new ones will probably be tier 1 monsters anyway so not much of an issue as of now (I love Anknosom and Bishaten but the poor things became irrelevant pretty quick as well), but I do hope that the other biomes have something that catches my eye.

Specially looking forward to the flagship monster. Gore Magala is my favorite, but Nergigante and Malzeno were also awesome, Velkana and Magnamalo were good enough but I'm hoping for something better than them.

I'd love something completely out of left field with a spider or scorpion design or maybe even a completely new skeleton like a centipide. Though I'd also be happy with a Gorilla skeleton flagship. Just hope it's not just an elemental western style dragon.

Oh, I definitely agree and I still have a level of lineancy with Capcom that I don't offer other companies anymore. And well, World and Rise with their expansions seemed to be very well supported. But we have seen some pretty retarded trends, so I rather be a bit weary just in case.

Sarcastic or not, there's no reason to apologize and I can't even argue against your issues. At least not in good faith as a fellow hunter. The new Mons definitely seem like own rank fodder for sure, which is why I personally don't have any issue with them. Things like Aknosom are the same in terms of low rank gimmicks and I love them for it. However I will say Nergigante was a shitter outside of arch tempered and ruiner. He was seriously the easiest monster farm out of all the elders for me as far as world is goes.

Tigrex(pronounced tie-grex because fuck the gooks and their tee-grex pronunciation) is kind of a jack of all trades. He fits into whatever the fuck you want him too because of primordial wyvern status. Also one of my most favorite mons to kill across the entire franchise. Please let him him come back.

Gore is cool as fuck. Absolutely no argument. I doubt he, or something like that, would return though. Unfortunately.

Malz and Velk are whatever for me. Malz is fine but Velk felt too gimmicky for my liking. So much so that I've unironically completed multiple ishvalda sets but only ever done one full Velk set. Whether that's an indictment on me as a hunter or on Velk as a Mon is up to interpretation.

Something completely new would definitely be welcome though. We have a severe lack of arachnids in the franchise and I'd whole-heartedly welcome a true spider or scorpion styled Monster again. The franchise tends to play it safe far too often for as wacky as you can get with the premise of this series.

damn it I hope this game is good because I REFUSE to play Rise and I can only play the older games for so long.
Truly a Hunter after my own heart

God please let my nigga Akura come back, we need more bugs we got Espinas in Rise so that means its on the table too come back even if unlikely

I just want a more slowed down classic monster hunter game no gimmicks like line bug, just me and the monster. Honestly my personal favorite monster hunter was tri and ultimate 3.

Nah, was an honest answer.

I was focusing on aesthetics for the flagships. I didn't play Iceborne, but since World was my first "proper" MH he did give me a bit of trouble. And his super hard event quest at the tail end of world is the only black mark in my World escapades aside from the hard version of the Behemoth fight. Was unable to solo either, did manage it with Ancient Leshen though.

Thinking of flagships from mechanics... still like Gore Magala the most from that batch and Malzeno was also pretty awesome, Primordial specially when he started going absolutely nuts through it's phases, what en enjoyable fight. Magnamalo and Scorned Magnamalo didn't cause much of an impression gameplay wise, I was a lot more wowed by Valstrax or Violet Mizutzune.

Velkana I hunted a few times in Sunbreak, but I didn't particularly enjoy the experience.

As for coming back, I mean, Gore Magala came back for Sunbreak and he is one of the most popular critters, so I wouldn't discount it. Rise and Sunbreak went pretty hard on "fuck the context, have a cool returning monster". I do hope they give a chance to forgotten oldies that will feel new to me, Tigrex and Zinogre are cool but I could do a game without them.
Something completely new would definitely be welcome though. We have a severe lack of arachnids in the franchise and I'd whole-heartedly welcome a true spider or scorpion styled Monster again. Definitely, they should really go nuts sometimes. Like with the mantis mecha thing, I really need to see if I can play that game properly the next time I get a hunkering for hunting...
I just want a more slowed down classic monster hunter game no gimmicks like line bug, just me and the monster. Honestly my personal favorite monster hunter was tri and ultimate 3.
We'll have to see, we already have a slingerish thing which I rather we didn't and both monsters had other monsters with them, though it might just be the coincidence that both are pack master types. I did love the fuck out of the wirebug, but I won't deny it made things too anime, so I could definitely live with it being removed, but by god, I really hope they keep skill sets from Rise.
