Little detail some autists noticed is that in the trailer, the character has a longsword in the back but the raptor hing has a light bowgun. Maybe weapon hot swapping will be a thing. Either that or it goes back to the "open worldification" of the game which I'm still trying to get my head around how they could make more compelling than detrimental without completely changing the formula.

Glad they're continuing to use the mount idea from Rise, but I'm not going to get hype until I see a Kut-Ku. I miss that dumb bird.

The mount also has a bunch of camping supplies on his back so maybe a system for setting up your own camp?

Tizi still better show up, stun everyone like an asshole and leave.

Honestly I'm quite impressed by the sheer density of monsters in the trailer, usually at most you'll get only five or so small monsters at most, but now they have legitimate herds, I like how it looks.

I hope they add more one-off monsters like Seltas and Great Maccao from 4 and Generations

The more I think about it, the more it feels like it's going for a breath of the Wild experience. So maybe you have a grand hunt and you are left around to fuck on your own hunting wathever and crafting whatever until you feel capable of going for the actual prey. No base of operations, just you and your backpack.

I like such a premise but it breaks so much with the Monster Hunter mold, also makes one wonder how multiplayer would work then.

'Video Games are art' fags can suck my dick. Video games are power fantasies about fighting dragons with a cool sword and anything else is a mistake.
Essentially...

holy shit finally. Monster Humper is my shit but Rise felt like a step backwards from World in so many ways. I was hoping they would go back to the "next generation" feel for the next game, i.e. huge seamless zones and shit, the mounts are one cool idea Rise had that I'm glad they're carrying over

World was a peak that Rise could never really follow. They tried to integrate the ideas of World into what Generations was and it just felt...off.

I think there is a market for a 'realistic' Monster Hunter and a fantasy anime hype version. I do believe the Realistic one will gain larger traction while the anime one will become 'artsy' and inspire more ideas that get translated into a more grounded form.

BELIEVE!

I kind of hope they do this, because grabbing your crap and running off to a hunt without being popped back into the hub sounds great.

I imagine there has to be some kind of hub though.

I hope they have good map variety if it's going to be open world It would be cool to go from a desert to a snowy area to a swamp over large distances It would make it feel very neat

They could have multiple little towns that operate as little hubs For multiplayer so you can pick up your friends and go out explore and or do quest and then have a larger hub for other quest

Best I can think of is that yes, you have your "hub" but you can't go back without abandoning the mission unless you hunt your real prey. So lets say you start up the game and your first mission is to get lost in the dessert till you take down a Black Diablos. That's a pretty big fucking ask for the first mission, but this time there is no time limit, so you are fucking around in a vast desert biome hunting whatever the fuck you run into trying to find what you can and can't kill and farming the packs of shit you can manage to build up your gear till you can finally go into that Black Diablos, take the fucker down and back to base to get asspats.

I guess the multiplayer could be more dynamic as in mid mission you drop a few flares and people join up like Dark Souls, though the big question here is how they other players benefit by being in your instance. Also, I suggested the single big biome, but I guess it could just be a big fuck you map with multiple biomes and you only know where your real prey is.

Sounds ambitious as fuck for sure, but I worry it ends up with the same "problem" Elden Ring has, this shit is amazing on the first playthrough when you are just fucking around and looking around finding random shit. That time that you bumped into a Teostra, completely unaware and your best equipment is a fucking Bone Lance will be hype, but on replays, well, you know where that Teostra spawns. Suddenly it's less explore and more beeline to what you want. So suddenly you just fast travel everywhere and boom, open world is irrelevant again.

On a separate note, all this Monster Hunter talk got me hankering for some hunting, so I picked up Rise and Sunbreak. For now I'm maining Lance (was a greatsword main in World), thought I was absolutely mediocre when I went into a hub mission against the Crane monster (love how the thing moves) and barely killed it only to notice I skipped all of the baby quests. Saw some videos on how to use the lance so I have a better grasp of the moveset, though I really bloody want the other set of silk abilities. The aesthetics I'm finding more enjoyable than world and the presentations in ye ol Japanese prose are great, graphically it's definitely not as good as world, but I like how colorful it is. Also, I am in love with absurdly mobile you are in this iteration between the mad ninja skillz and the Palamute. I'm basically a solo hunter at heart, but as long as I don't have to kill 20 Zinogre's to not get a fucking Gem (guess why I got tired of Ultimate 4) and mixing and matching sets like in World is still a good plan I think I'll enjoy it.

Spoilering OT ramble about MHR and MHW.

I never expected Rise to cross World because Rise was developed first, and wasn't really PC-centric. Rise has the older MH feel to it and its own plus points - the endemic life are a great idea, and the Wirebugs are so much more comfy compared to whatever Clutch Claw was.

World feels like the franchise matured in some ways, but IDK. People go too gaga over the realism in that game, when at least in my opinion a franchise like this should continue to stick to its roots. I played World before Rise, and MHX/4U before both, and I feel that Rise had much more kinship to those older titles.

I don't really watch trailers so I didn't see this one either, but if what I'm reading is true and it's open world, I wonder how they're implementing it. Would it be like Stories where you veer off into Dens and hubs are found between biomes? Definitely not buying the game at launch as much as I love the series, as it's silly to put blind faith into games.

The trailer barely counts as a teaser, we just assume open world because it's the vibe it kind of seems to be going with.

On a separate topic, how are the stories games? I have 2 on my wishlist but my jrpg backlog is also obscene, but I wouldn't mind bumping it up a bit thanks to word of mouth.

I haven't played but from what I know is the Stories on 3DS is the best version because it had a later update that vastly expanded the end game. I heard Stories 2 is a fun play through but less fun than the OG.

I like Monster Hunter but I'm not buying a PS5 or an Xbox and I barely touch my PC for games because I don't like dealing with computers' bullshit and it's not comfy. Not that there's cross platform co-op anyway.
I'll probably play Wilds less than GenU or Rise if I play it at all. I usually played MH with my spouse while listening to videos/podcasts. It was way easier to have a Switch, Lite, and Switch online family sub.

I need better armor sets. I want that Gammoth set that makes men look like a tank and women look like a girl out on the town. Then the 80’s homo erotic guy outfits and the women having big ass poofy dresses.

The diversity in how retarded you can look is the best part of monster Hunter.

To be fair, it's like a teaser announcement. Too early to say anything. Only thing I hate or maybe dreadful about bunch of annoying dipshit (newcomers or not) thinking World-Iceborne is how MonHun should be and bigger. About how World ecology and looking at monsters in natural habitat, yada yada, cringe. I hate graphics fags that much, it reminds me of so many Sony fags about their movie games. Then it breeds faggot like SunhiLegend doing slow mo clips.

Also, they don't even think about how World itself uses mantles mechanic like rocksteady (forcing you) because the amount of roar in that game. Also clutch claw shit and aids fight against flying one like Kushala Daora. Then forced group fight monsters like Kulve Taroth for "endgame" upgrade at that patch.

Rise- Sunrbeak have issue like more boring endgame grind, keeps inflating monsters health value which requires you must use followers mechanic later on. Can be good or bad, depending on people. Less character customization in base game for whatever reasons. But the biggest crime to me is that how they ruin hunting horn playstyle.

If anything be cautiously optimistic about the new game, especially pricing. I'm highly expecting this game will be $70, just how like Capcom pushing for Dragon's Dogma 2 at $70 because they know their brand name alone is enough to carry. Definitely a skip for me at launch, maybe even waiting to when they have its expansion launched.

Since MonHun is now popular enough, on reddit now and then, you'll have opinion on like why female armours are so different to male versions. Like why so skimpy and slutty.
To the point of later free title updates armor (free skins) for Rise-Sunbreak, you have way more male and femalea armours being samey.
