Dagestanis taking massive Ls in Saudi Arabia of all places. The sheiks won't be happy about this.

MVP made Sharaputin look like an amateur. He might be a point fighter, but MVP is pretty slick and he has the power to put people out. If you don't grapple with Page, you deserve what you get. Fraud check written, signed, and cashed. Now all that is needed for Ankalaev to get CHAMA'd and some of the casuals will get off their nuts (I say this as a Khabib fanboy).

Izzy's weakness (the overhand right) keeps getting exposed and he keeps refusing to fix it. He gets paid too much to slide further down, and 205 would be too much firepower for him to handle (though it might be fun to see him fight Jiri as a style matchup, especially now that Jiri has unlocked the Head Movement skill tree).

Imavov is another all-rounder who isn't outstanding at any one part of MMA, but he can stand in the pocket, throw hands, and exploit an opening (like he did with Izzy). Hell, give him a shot at the belt against whoever is left standing once the Dricus/Sean/Khamzat standoff is finished.

Are Dagestanis genetically incapable of just admitting they got beat? Seems like every single one of them has to clam a mysterious illness or injury.
Some of the Dagestanis social media is really Ali Abdelaziz (MMA 'super' manager and Gracie jock-carrier[Renzo told him he sucked so he should stop fighting and be a manager]) talking, especially when it's massive amounts of bullshit or cope.

It tends to be the best decision any good French Fighter makes. He can spot talent but dude's a mid coach at best, shady businessman too considering he withheld a UFC offer from Abdouragimov to make sure he signed with PFL because Fernand would get a higher cut from that paycheck.
It reminds me a lot of the situation of the Peruvian fighters. they are kids with potential but they don't get a good coach and end up losing their fights (It happens a lot with those who train with Jackson Mora, the president of FFC) The only one who went to train in the United States is the one who is winning his fights (Daniel Marcos)

That fight must’ve really pissed off Dana.

He's out but the fat tub of lard Tai Tuivasa, who he 30-27'd, is not only still in the UFC, but somehow ranked top 10 in HW while on a 5 fight loss streak.

This would be like if Tony Ferguson was ranked 10 when he fought Bobby Green, he was out of the rankings by that time btw.

In better news, this means nobody in the UFC has beaten Shamil, which upgrades his title walk into a title jog.

He probably makes like $300K per fight. Heavyweights tend to get big paychecks and will often fight into their 40s in the UFC. Arlovski was fighting for six figures per fight deep into his 40s just for the paycheck because it was so high. UFC doesn't want those kind of contracts on the roster anymore. They want Contender Series nobodies making 10K to show and Apex cards with completely recognizable fighters.

This week's event UFC 312 is probably the worst PPV card the company has ever done. Only the featured main card fight for the middleweight title is exciting. Even the worst McGregor cards had at least one other fight on them.

It's how they've been handling HW for a while now, if you're boring you're gone. Romanov was let go, Williams was let go, Nascimento got cut and now Jair gets the same treatment. I fully expect Tybura to get released as soon as he loses unless he starts getting more finishes.

I get why they want to keep exciting HWs only, but given how dogshit most of the division is, I'd rather them at least keep guys like Rozen and Romanov around as a litmus test for prospects. Having the bar for HW get even lower will just get us more Braxton Smith/Sharaf type guys.

I'll laugh if the Brazilian Struve fighting Tafa this saturday gets lamped. Dude has tall man defense and has not used his Black Belt since like his first fight or something.

On the main card I like Zhang/Suarez simply because Tatiana was supposed to be the next big thing like a decade ago before she was perpetually injured, mauled Esparza and Grasso when she fought them, also subbed Andrade. Failed prospects like Crute and Matthews on a PPV is hilarious.

Prelims actually look entertaining, though weak in name value. Jenkins/Santos is a fight between two very aggressive guys that are decent everywhere but tend to favor striking, Nolan/Slava is two chinny strikers with one having size on his side while the other is way more sharp, Topuria's bro is fighting an undefeated guy and Kody Steele should give Zhu his walking papers for a second time in violent fashion.

No PPV will ever be as bad as TJ vs Soto though, that shit had a hex put on it.

Another member of Team Luigi (and more likely to kill someone than Sean Strickland):

Jonny Duck will fight United Healthcare before he will fight Tom Aspinall.

To the surprise of no one Dominick Cruz pulled out of UFC Seattle due to injury.

Alexandre Pantoja has called for a Champion vs. Champion fight against Merab at UFC 314.

Weili used to be my waifu, but she's very inactive (shit division) and she's getting old. I think it's more the current trend of the old guard getting rekt, but I think Suarez might take this. Weili has great grappling but usually against a non grappler. Her fight with rose it was pretty even and that was right after training with Cejudo. Hope I'm wrong, but last two fights went to decision, even if Lamos and Yan are tough motherfuckers.
Really hope Strickland gets finished, boring ass fighter. The last round of the last fight was so good, Sean finally saw Dricus didnt have enough to put him out, and finally engaged a lot more. I will say strickland's chin is pretty good, it's not just his good defense. So I hope sean going in thinking his chin will hold, and it doesnt.

Excited to see Jenkins again, his last fight was a non-fight gimme with Herbert burns (lol). That Chepe fight was good until the injury.

Pantoja vs Merab does not excite me at all, Merab would easily stamina his way to a decision win. I think his smaller neck and traps will help him against a RNC. I think Pantoja's only path to victory is a sub.
