291 over. OK card, best moment was Derrick Lewis doing a Masvidal on a human thumb.
His post fight interview sounded exactly like Null's bix nood mumbling on MATI. More disappointing than funny though, really.
The handing off of the BMF belt was so perfect.
Masvidal, with a 1/16 of a smile, basically throws it on the shoulder of Gaethje, who hands it off to a teammate within seconds, only to give the appearance of giving a shit just before Joe Rogan interviews him to appease the suits.
No speech from Masvidal, no excitement from Gaethje, no sense of occasion or gravitas whatsoever. Just "here I guess you won this" and done.
The BMF title
could be something fun if there was anything attached to being the reigning champion of it other than a way to sell more tickets.
Diaz vs Masvidal made sense for the inception of the belt because of their personalities. The Rock presenting it made no sense because his character has always been a smooth-talking singularity of charisma, not being a badass. It reeks of a marketing ploy created by suits with half an idea of what it should be.
I feel bad watching Tony Ferguson now. I wish he would retire and coach or something. I don't wanna see him go out on a massive losing streak, capped off by a loss to either a nobody on prelims or as a vehicle to put over an up-and-comer to squeeze the last bit of usefulness out of him. That's what's gonna happen, but it's just sad.
Anyone see Alex Pereira winning the LHW belt? I don't, but I still like the guy. I hope he gets another chance to embarrass that faggot Izzy.
