What a twist...

Yeah that's horsehite right there. The police can't arrest someone they've determined not to be the guilty party, just because they've volunteered, that's not how that works. Sure in domestic cases they want to take one person out of there (and it's usually the guy), and sure sometimes people might lie and say they started it to cover for the other person, but this is just obviously sounds retarded.

*EDIT* We also have some updates on Luis Pena. TMZ have released a copy of the 911 audio, and it's fucked up, and the UFC have instantly punted him:
“UFC is aware of the disturbing allegations concerning the recent arrest of Luis Pena. Mr. Pena has been open about his struggles with mental health and substance abuse issues and the organization has on multiple prior occasions attempted to help him get professional treatment," the organization told us in a statement.

They continued ... "At this time, UFC believes Mr. Pena needs to deal with the health and legal issues in front of him, and consequently has informed Mr. Pena’s management that his promotional agreement has been terminated.”

Kinda funny since JBJ has been open about the same mental health/substance issues yet nothing happening there...

Neglect your boxing long enough and this will happen.

I posted this before, but here it is again because it's crispy af.

Yanez vs Costa 2.mp4
That Yanez Costa fight is one of those fights that no one watches because neither are a known name, but they really should.

Apparently Yanez said the Aljo post is bs, but yeah Aljo's hands are ass. Just pitter patter volume to allow him to body lock and take the back or dive for the legs. Tbh him not fighting Yan and Sandhagen taking his place makes for a far more interesting fight.

None of those guy are ranked and both are legit (costas for 1,5 round tho) that tells you much 135 is stacked
edit: Valiev Vs Barcelos was also a 135 outside rankings sleeper

So there's an MMA gym near me I want to start going to. I can't afford the full gym membership (right now I go to Planet Fitness on a $10 a month plan) but they do hold different classes on self defense so I think I'm gonna go with that. Once my income increases and I burn off more fat I'm gonna try to pick up an MMA style that mixes Krav Maga with Brazilian Ju-Jitsu (because Brazilian Ju-Jitsu has really good knife fighting techniques and I usually conceal carry a 8-inch dagger on me, as well at my dual-stack 1911). I'm not interested in getting in the cage or anything I'm more interested in getting /fit/ on a plant-based diet and being able to handle myself in a fight where I'm unarmed.

Anybody have any experience with Krav Maga and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu? I would be interested in hearing from more experienced kiwis when it comes to Martial Arts (I took Taekwondo and Wushu from the age of 6 to 19 but kind of dropped it around the age of 19 due to personal reasons)

This is the number 3 ranked female bantamweight division. Following her opponent in a circle, knows that her head has to be off the centreline, but doesn't know how, she's doing what athletic unskilled people do with head movement, which is keep it moving. Do nothing and get jabbed up

I forgot that Norma is known as someone who doesn't do enough, with majority decisions. This is as shit as I thought. If there was ever a fight that shows Aspen is just a weight bully, this is it.

Edit: Fuck it, put troons in, it might make the heavier WMMA divisions fun.

Bellator has a great line-up on paper tonight and is still going to be outdrawn by this snoozefest.
Forgot how young Corey Anderson is. People always think that UFC fighters go to Bellator when they are old and washed, but he's young for a LHW. Wasn't too far off a title shot when Jan put him to sleep. Nemkov and him will be a fun fight.

Everyones least favourite Irish cokehead is being accused (yet again) of randomly decking a member of the public.

Also the state of BE's headline "involved in brawl" making it sound like he was in a fight, as opposed to what he was accused of doing (randomly assaulting the guy outta nowhere)

All of Dana White's big cash cows are fucking up big time. Jon Jones crosses the pale in the eyes of many by beating his wife to the point where his kid has to ask for the police. Now Conor is fucking up yet again. The only saving grace here is he didn't deck his girlfriend, so they are just going to hand wave it.

It is amazing that he still gets the fan reception in spite the know criminality he has done again and again. I honestly think he's going to do this to the wrong person at some point, and then end up with a knife in his gut at some point.

Man today has been a hell of a day for reading weird MMA stories. Aside from the Conor thing, apparently JBJ decided that randomly DM shittalking a female MMA journo who was tweeting about his arrest was somehow a good idea. It got even weirder when another random Titan FC, and ex-UFC fighter did the same thing but also went full nutjob and started ranting about teh gays. Then finally to top it all off Nate Diaz is trending on Twitter because Dominic Cummings of all people decided to randomly tweet career advice at him.
For the non British, non politcals amongst you guys (which I'm guessing is most) Cummings is a well known political strategist who amongst other things was chief advisor to the Prime Minister, and who headed the official brexit campaign, and seeing him @ing Nate with career advice out of nowhere is borderline surreal.

Utterly surreal. Is this what he's been up to since getting the boot?
Edit: We sure this isn't a troll account? He writes like a complete schizo...which might explain a lot of things.

When 40% of fights on your card are made up of women's MMA fights, that's how you know that you're in for a night of absolute blockbusters. The hand flailing and out-of-range leg flicking techniques displayed in these fights are things of astonishing beauty.

That was my first thought as well, especially given the generic sounding handle and the fact it isn't verified. However checking his followers it seems like he's followed by a whole bunch of journos/politicos and the like which makes me think it's probably real.

I mean it is Cummings, being a schizo nutter sounds about right.

The Fiorot - Bueno Silva fight...my god. 1,2,3 to a high guard, opponent mean mugs, lead body side kick. Reset and repeat for 3 rounds. People were hot on Fiorot because she seemed to be able to hit with power and put people away, after this...nah. How many years of women's MMA and the striking generally looks like that? Just garbage.

Update: Costa is trying the Nick Diaz tactic of turning up to a 185lb fight at 211lbs and trying to change the fight to catchweight or light heavyweight. He's lucky Marvin is game/professional and saying that he would take it regardless. Izzy destroyed this man's confidence.

So we're still a couple of days away from the fight and Costa has already said he isn't making weight because he's 211lbs right now (which means realistically he's probably 220ish). Best part is the shit he's saying like it'll somehow be Vettori's fault if it doesn't get rebooked at catchweight:
“Make a little difference for me now, four or five pounds, six pounds. I just don’t care,” Costa said. “I’m more concentrated on my weight than on his weight. I don’t care if he makes 225 pounds or more. We need to find a catchweight to make. I don’t know exactly yet.”

Honeslty given Costa's shitty attitude I hope Vettori tells him to fuck right off, or demands like 80% of his purse or something.
