>UFC books Hawes vs Winn
>Winn pulls out on weigh in day for medical reasons
>UFC tries to book Hawes vs Curtis as a last minute replacement, and Curtis weighs in successfully
>Hawes refuses fight
>Krause volunteers to fight Curtis instead
>NSAC are faggots and won't sign off on it.

Not gonna lies the idea of a last second replacement jumping in to fight another last minute replacement is kinda funny. Also this would have been the second time Krause turned up to corner one of his fighters and instead fought as a last minute replacement which is a fucking baller move tbh. The fact that the Texas commission let him do it first time, and the NSAC didn;t this time is just further proof that Texas > Nevada.

Trash fight card becomes even worse. Good thing Fury Wilder 3 is on.

Honestly I'm personally not much more interested in this fight either. This is not a fight we need to see yet again, especially since it ruined the potential Joshua vs Fury fight they were planning. It's pretty clear that Fury is a much better boxer, and barring the freakiest of punchers chancers Wilder is gonna get his ass whooped again.

And rewatching that Joshua Usyk fight, don't think he's going to be able to do anything to get his belts back. outboxing a fat short Mexican instead of crashing into the pocket is one thing, outboxing a better boxer like Usyk, not likely. He's a British fighter as well, very few of them are good in the pocket.

I guess they could try and do a unification bout between Fury and Usyk if he beats Wilder, then hope Fury wins it and just set the Fury Joshua fight again. But even then there is less interest. There is no "unification of the titles then.

Joshua like looked good vs U-sick.
He was down several rounds but he forced himself to pressure and cut off U-sick circling allowing him to grab a few rounds in the middle.
At the end he faded a bit and wasn't able to solve to puzzle but it was a good performance.
100 times better than when he fought the fat man and was scared af

He looked good, but do you think he could beat Usyk? He made adjustments and then Usyk adjusted to those and shut him out. I remember during his good rounds Joshua found a home for the body, but after a round of that, Usyk adjusted and he basically never threw body shots again. I don't think if they rematch he can figure out that puzzle and beat him.

Nah I don't think he could but he clearly got my hespect to go agaisnt his instinct and pressure when he doesn't like doing that also coming up with a temporary solution.

Yeah, I remember Joshua ripping Usyk to the body. I think Usyk's left hand and outside angle changes concerned Joshua, which made him move back, removing the option of going in for body shots.

There are some clips I put up of the best moments of Usyk vs Joshua in the boxing thread. Go check them out if you haven't already. I think Usyk was wise to keep pressuring Joshua with fast hands and a fruit salad of combos to avoid being countered. Good on him for choosing Papachenko as his coach before the fight

Made this btw. Constant pressure >>>>> everything else, period. Why play the counter game by guessing what your opponent is going to do when you can just go forward make them do the guessing? its fighting, yo

You gotta feel em.png

I don't like Wilder, but he did a lot better and lasted longer than I thought. But jesus does Fury have power when he wants to throw it. Straight KO'D, no question now.

We all thought that Fury would just beat him again, but I knew Wilder wouldn't go down that easy. The guy looked super jacked and durable during the weigh in so I thought the fight would go to a unanimous decision for Fury. Good to know that Fury got the knockout; Wilder was probably being a sponge throughout the entire thing. I'll have to watch it tomorrow.

But since it's the sport of boxing we're talking about, who knows. Wilder vs Fury 4 might be scheduled to take place sometime next year, and who doesn't want that??? Fury or Wilder vs Joshua is a fight nobody wants to see, anyways, lol.

There's no real point to a 4th fight. Fury is just better. You could argue he won all 3 fights, but even if the 1st is a draw to someone, it's still 2-0-1

Watching it now instead of at 4am live my time. Wilder looked more technical, both getting good shots in. Both been knocked down, which is exciting. Ref so far also seems to be very competent. Sometimes allowing clinch situations if they bridge into boxing from both guys, then breaking it up when its stalling, generally good at commanding respect. Better than that faggot Bayless.

Edit: Overall, good fight. A lot of inside clinch and frame punching. It was the expected result but Wilder came in there and made it a fight. Thinking how Usky and Fury would go? We have seen Fury outbox someone like Wilder, and against Usyk he could do that with the length he has, but I think he will just big man him. Fury is good in the clinch, throwing short uppercuts to the body and head, framing off and head posting, something AJ is not able to do. Against a much smaller Usyk he could make him carry his weight and take shots. Maybe mix both if needed? It might not be a seller of a fight like Fury-Joshua, but it is an interesting fight.

So apparently Luis Pena aka Violent Bob Ross, has been arrested yet again for Battery and DV. He was also charged with two previous instances of similar things, but it never went anywhere as the woman refused to press charges. I'm kinda interested to see how the UFC handles this. On the one hand he's no JBJ so they can throw the book at him, but on the other if they do people will point out they haven't done it to others. My personal guess is they'll wait to see if his missus is smart enough to press charges this time, and if she does they'll throw him under the bus and piously claim they waited for the system to go through the motions, safe in the knowledge they won't have to do the same to JBJ because his missus will never do the same.

Nice job weaving under the joke there. Maybe you should fight Fury next.

I'm pretty sure this guy was charged with burglary before. To me, he's a C-level fighter in the UFC, so I don't think the company would be taking any losses by kicking him out.

I don't remember a burglary charge, unless it was before his UFC time. There was a robbery charge (specifically "robbery by sudden snatching" because Florida), from his previous incident where he grabbed his missus phone and smashed it because he thought she was scoping dudes out in insta.

Precisely why I think he'll be gone. Wonder if he'll go full insane if/when they kick him since he's clearly already fucked up.

MMA Fighting confirmed with the public information department at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department that Liddell, 51, was booked into the Lost Hills Sheriff Station following an arrest for misdemeanor domestic battery in Hidden Hills, Calif.

We got another one boys. How long before we have a faux moral outrage/panic at the number of fighters being arrested for DV?

Faux or not, moral outrage about these kinds of things is kind of a waste of energy imo.

When it comes to crimes done by someone from a certain group, it's pointless to look at one guy in one community who did one thing and say that everyone in the group does it. You have to look at stats. It's the only way you know how the average joe in the group behaves, and if they do behave in that way, that's when you can say there's a problem. I will say that outliers do show you what is possible, though.

Prob a hot take here, but a misdemeanor is a misdemeanor. Ofc, domestic battery to me is kind of pathetic, but I think this takes attention away from bigger problems in MMA that we should be dealing with (i.e. weight cuts and meagre pay).

With all this said, I think the UFC's more "professional" look is more appealing than before, where fighters had those weird shorts with ads all over them and colored hair to match. Being a guy who started being a UFC fan in early 2019, I still think the old UFC appeals to me because of how zany and careless it was; nobody gave a crap about who got knocked out or who should fight who. If it was a fight, that was enough.
Lmao of course you only got into mma recently if you think MMA being more "professional" is better
Watching mma was fun when you had all sorts of weirdos and personalitys in the ring, now its either babyface good guy number 93874765774027, asshole, mcgregor wannabe or a complete cringelord

I never said that weirdos and personalities were a bad thing. I just said I like the UFC's more professional look in terms of clothing and promotion. For example, the UFC of today produces better-looking posters and videos that have sleeker graphics that resemble other major sports leagues. The old UFC promotion does make me laugh just because of how hard it was trying to be edgy at the time, but since the UFC is more popular, keeping graphics simple and less spergy is the way to go for attracting more peeps from the mainstream.

Sadly, the UFC will never reach this level ever again.
