fuck, don't even get me started on the reffing of this totally non-serious sport. Blatant favoritism, ref opinions changing from fight to fight, dubious decisions in some Islamic areas of the world., no accountability for judges or refs, coin flip if points are deducted or not. Ngl it IS one of my favorite parts of the sports since its like pulling a chance card. "If drawn, the ref will ignore all fouls until foul #4". But again this also contributes to why people see the product as degrading. I remember having buds over for the 310 card, and one of my buds before the Volk vs Gane fight was pointing out Adalaide Byrd was the judge and literally predicted the robbery.
 
Can we give Erceg some cans for his service, please? Dude is 0-3 against the top guys in the division. Definitely feel like he’s got what it takes to be champion one day, but probably needs a confidence boost.

The easiest way to 10-8 someone on Byrd's scorecards is to be white and better looking than your opponent.

Terence Crawford tries to explain the difference on fighter pay in Boxing vs. MMA and how UFC fighters are getting fucked. Marty from Nebraska (aka Kamaru Usman) and Henry Cejudo get out their brooms and sweep it up for Daddy Dana pimping them out of money.
I'm starting to come around on the idea that a lot of MMA fighters are just straight-up dumb. Say what you want about Tito Ortiz, but at least he didn't just let Dana bend him over and fuck him when it came to money. Same thing Fedor. Fedor was not willing to fight for Dana's damp peanut shells because he was (arguably) the best heavyweight in MMA.
 
Isn't Cejudo the same guy who lost out on years of his prime trying to squeeze Dana for more money?

Cejudo literally threw away his UFC career because his then girlfriend (note: Cejudo was a virgin up until like 2020) wanted him to focus on her and start a family. Cejudo was doing podcasts with Mike Tyson and others during this period (peak “King of Cringe”) and the Brazilian girl he was dating used him for clout. She and her friends started making fun of him for various things, like being short and fat, on social media and then he broke up with her. Don’t know if I got all of the details right, but he started trying to barter to get back into the UFC as early as 2021 and Dana really didn’t want to take him back.

Sucks because Cejudo was insanely talented.

I know guys like Rogan and Schaub have spoken about someone with Lebron James athleticism doing MMA one day and this is why it will never happen. Why hop into MMA when you are able to put a ball into a hoop instead and make 50X the amount of money in your career and leave with your brain intact?

I was just thinking about this and then Dana White's TKO Boxing came to mind. Is the pay going to be on par with the current set of boxers who are world beaters? If so it must suck for his MMA stable to look at guys getting paid 10x more than them for using less than half of their skillsets.

O'Malley is undeserving of a title shot but his team game planned the first fight expecting Merab to shoot 10 takedowns a round & couldn't adjust when that didn't happen, O'Malley will do better but still a Merab Decision victory 49-46
