Whenever Jan gets overlooked, he performs - Rockhold, Corey Anderson, Reyes. I went and rewatched that Reyes fight. It was like 2-3 kicks and Reyes' ribs looked the same as Costa's leg. I think he broke Reyes' nose as well. It's not going to be an easy fight, that is for sure.

That callout post fight - "better put some respect on my name" followed by calling out Masvidal. Dude fucking earned it after tonight if he hadn't already. Trevor Wittman is a psychic. Said that Usman would get the finish this time and he did.

Anyone notice that on round 1 Gilbert rushed to punch Kamaru, expecting him to do his 4 legged gorilla walk to the centre of the cage like he usually does? This one seemed way more intense than the one with Covington. That one was political spergery, this fight was personal.

Usman is a brilliant fighter, he just had a couple of boring fights which put some people off him. He fought a hard bout with Covington and he was back on top form to finish Burns.
 
I'm not all too excited about a rematch with Masvidal already, tbh. Yeah, Jorge gets a full camp this time around but I just think Usman continues to be a stylistic nightmare for him.

He's almost cleaned the welterweight division out.

Nah, he's not going to go for it as long as Izzy holds it.

In an ideal world in my mind, Khabib comes back for one last dance and goes for a Welterweight belt. The man with elite takedown skills against the man with a perfect takedown defence record. He doesn't want anyone at Lightweight and GSP is old and he doesn't want to fight him. Realistically, he's done, but one can hope.

Fuck, Saturday’s UFN186 was boring. A terrible watch. Canelo was able to draw the forfeit before the two heavyweights came to a decision.

To wash the taste of that UFC event out of my mouth, I decided to check out ONE Championship: Fists of Fury. Great card. Highly recommend. It’s free on Bleacher Report Live and YouTube.

Highlights include:
A 16-year old made her pro MMA debut in an incredible fight.

Rodtang, because Rodtang. If you’ve never heard of him before, the bout he has in this event is a proper introduction. He’s ONE’s current Muay Thai champion who makes his professional kickboxing debut. There are numerous multi-hour long compilations of his Muay Thai bouts on YouTube for your viewing pleasure.

Call me a soursport, but I’m not too hyped for UFC259. Even though the main card is stacked, I just have this weird feeling in my gut that it’s kind to be disappointing. The only two fights I care about are the Sterling and Blachowicz bouts, and I hope they both win. I don’t think Santos can come back from the brutality his legs suffered from the Jones fight. I honestly cannot stand Cruz and hope he eats shit (unlikely though), Islam is going to suffocate Dober, and poor Megan should just forfeit to save herself the disappointment.

More or less agree, though I think Yan will get it over Sterling. Hoping Jan pulls it off with his white Polish power and fucks up Dana's bullshit plans for multi weight class fuckery with Jon Jones. Man's a nice enough guy. I'm throwing a tenner on Megan for lols. Rakic will probably win it over Santos, he can chop those legs hards like he did against Smith. Cruz has been out for a while and I think people know how to deal with his style - chop away.

I don't guys who run their mouths, whether they can back it up or not. I have Jan, Megan (because lol why not), Yan, Islam and Rakic for the main card.
 
Megan is disgusting.
She finaly managed to beat 2 bums in a row an now get a title shot. She fights like a bully and clearly depends a lot on the strenght advantage.
Hope she gets outclassed by Nunez,koed,retire and then the ufc close this thing they call woman featherweight.

That knee was fucking egregious. I feel bad for Sterling. He’ll be a paper champ at best, and if they run it back immediately, he’s going to hand it right back over to Yan. Disappointing. Whatever was going on in Yan’s corner was nothing short of totally fuckery.
