Having met and interacted with people like this in real life, I simply do not understand how someone can love animals so much they would be willing to harass, discriminate, or even attack others because they eat meat.
 
I'm amazed at how classist vegans are. Especially raw vegans.
They say they're saving the earth but it's not true.
Yes, certain animal industries are polluting and we are losing rainforests over it in undeveloped countries.

But what about all the pollution it takes to transport all these Veggies? Or to places that don't have geography for agriculture? Or the pollution that is made to make More plastic and metal "vegan" products because they're too snobby to just use, you know, a used frying pan from The Vin?

Don't even get me started on microgreens.

Or the sheer amount of fertilizer and pesticides it takes to produce their soy in places soy isn't meant to grow. Livestock ranching is eco-friendly because it can be done on marginal land without using hundreds of metric tons of man-made or mined phosphate fertilizer every growing season.
 
What is also idiotic is the current trend for self-righteous vegans to virtue-signal how holy they are by forcing their pets to be vegan.

There are a depressing number of people who I run into when getting food for my cat who are constantly pestering the pet food store clerks for obscure hipster pet food brands that are vegan. It is very difficult to prevent a carnivorous animal like a dog from becoming malnourished on a "vegan" diet, and is eventually fatal for an obligate carnivore like a cat. If these militant vegans cannot handle that, they should surrender their carnivorous pets to somebody who can take care of them properly.

Also, why do so many of these militant vegan types look like stereotypical Tumblr dangerhairs in real life?

That and I've noticed the more militant ones believing that carnivorous animals should go extinct because they cause suffering, I think subconsciously they hate their pets for being carnivores.

Raw veganism is actually bad for you.

Yes nutrients are lost in cooking. But cooking your food, even a bit, can make it more nutritious. By breaking down some of that fiber you can extract some nutrition from it. Other things like tomatoes get more nutritious when heated as they produce more lycopene that way which is a powerful antioxidant. And beans shouldn't be eaten raw. They contain a toxin which is deactivated when cooked.

And besides since we harnessed fire it made food easier to digest once cooked. We then gave up stronger stomach acids because they were no longer necessary. Cooked food is what we should be eating.

Also, Maize. Very little nutrition can be obtained from unprocessed (nixtamalizized) maize.
Uncooked cereal grains carry extremely high levels of fungal toxins.
Eat raw veggies - risk fungal exposure. Remember fungal infections are extremely dangerous. We have very few effective antifungals.
I personally know 2 backyard farmers that suffered from fungal infections due to their harvest. One permanently lost his sight, one was hospitalized with a brain lesion.

If you aren't cooking it - wash it thoroughly. Anything grain or grain-like (maize) needs to be cooked.

I can't remember exactly but I learned that the Hindu(/Jainists?) that are very strict only eat a few certain tubers or something that are not likely to have bugs living in or on them, so they are not disrupting the insect kingdom. It also may be something that tubers can be "regrown" in water with rooting so then they don't kill the entire plant by harvesting the entire plant.

So many people claim "toxins" but that's just a fuckall word

I haven't thought about this in Years but I had to learn about it in a college course once on Hindu Lit.

I think Ghandi also changed his diet towards the end to be similar to this, or something. Maybe someone here knows what I'm talking about.

Jainists I can kiiiiinda understand, they wear masks to avoid breathing in bugs, they walk barefoot and only will walk not ride bikes or cars because it may kill animals, and they carry brooms to sweep the sidewalks of bugs before walking , so they sweep as they walk. They're Very strict for only eating like a dozen veggies or something that are mostly guaranteed to be bug free .

They're all eating disordered regardless.

To be fair, I've met some that straight up say they don't give a fuck about the environment, they only care about "minimizing" suffering. Of course, the suffering of all the poor insects they kill to grow veggies doesn't seem to count. :biggrin:

Me too, and they also conveniently don't want to talk about the fact that harmful pesticides Are in fact used in organic farming, and their organic veggies are Not pesticide free by any means.

The stupid thing about organic gardening is they eschew commercially made fertilizers and pesticides in favor of natural ones. Even in cases where the natural and factory made ones have the same chemical structure. They're literally the same thing but they can't / won't use them because it's not 100% natural.

Organic is a joke and more of a marketing term than anything else.
