Not much. I knew someone who feed his tarantula paper and peanuts. He was whining that his spider had gotten agressive after this and he gotten rid of it.
FUCK
Spiders can only eat a liquid diet, the way they eat is they bite the prey item and inject their venom into it with their fangs, the venom liquefies the prey item's insides and they suck out the juices. This is why defanging a tarantula is a bad practice, the tarantula literally cannot eat without excessive assistance. To feed a defanged tarantula you must pre kill the prey item and open it for them and they might be able to eat it, but that's not guaranteed. If you manage to nurse it into it's next molt it will regrow it's fangs if it's strong enough to survive the molt.
Anyway, when he was "feeding" his spider paper and peanuts in reality he was just putting paper and peanuts in the cage and the tarantula couldn't do anything with them. I can't think of a true metaphor for how retarded this is beyond saying "I have a pet human, I feed it rocks" Also tarantulas typically don't become any less aggressive if they started off that way (unless they were stressed at the time) the only way a tarantula would get more aggressive is if you fuck with it and stress it out a lot. Tarantulas are fairly simple creatures physiologically, they really only have three modes: normal, stressed and FOOD modes.
Anyway, guy's a literal retard and I hope when he got rid of it he means found it a new home and not threw it outside to face the wilderness of an unfamiliar environment. I also got my spider from a guy who knew nothing about her but her previous owner wasn't as bad as this guy sounds.

This isn't technically from tumblr, but...here's another reason to avoid vegans like the fucking plague.

This is from a Reddit thread (I know, I hate myself) discussing the recent conviction of some elephant poachers; two Chinese poachers were sentenced to 30 years for slaughtering 226 elephants for their ivory. Yay! Right? Except that the vegan brigade immediately came in, accusing everyone of being massive hypocrites for being dirty bloodmouths while still condemning the ivory trade.

These people are so incredibly smug and arrogant about this shit and it's not even justified. Yes, there are planet-sized issues with factory farming, but is it really so disgustingly hypocritical for someone who enjoys a burger now and then to be shocked and appalled by the slaughter of endangered, highly intelligent animals to make completely unnecessary luxury items? We eat meat to obtain the essential nutrients we need to survive. Some stupid rich person isn't going to die if they don't get an ivory carving, they just don't get to show off how rich they are. It's easy to justify the death of a cow, but can you do the same for an elephant that was killed just so its tusks could be harvested and sold to rich people as a decoration?

I'm sorry if I sound salty but I am seriously getting fed up with preachy vegans. They're funny most of the time (especially when they unintentionally come up with the most METAL phrases ever, like "bloodmouth" and "your stomach is a graveyard"), but I would like to get upset about animal abuse without some vegan coming in an condemning me as a hypocrite.

Also consider that elephant poaching is horrible because they aren't that many elephants (at least not as many as there are cows) and you're destroying something so that it's more likely future generations will not be able to go and see an elephant and enjoy the many joys of looking at elephants. Also it's very illegal so there's that

The difference is that cows aren't fully self aware and we murder them ultra quick out of mercy when we eat them. Elephants are aware of themselves, and die after getting shot with big bore guns rip through their bodies when poachers decide to take them down for their tusks. Also one is a key food resource, the other is a source for rich dickholes who want prestige items.

And yeah, I think half the reason vegans get so salty is that they're miserable without those missing nutrients they miss due to no animal products.

Oh, and guess what? Elephants are one of the few species of animals that are known to mourn their dead (one of the others being us). From Wiki:

"The elephant has one of the most closely knit societies of any living species. Elephant families can only be separated by death or capture. Cynthia Moss, an ethologist specialising in elephants, recalls an event involving a family of African elephants. Two members of the family were shot by poachers, who were subsequently chased off by the remaining elephants. Although one of the elephants died, the other, named Tina, remained standing, but with knees beginning to give way. Two family members, Trista and Teresia (Tina's mother), walked to both sides of Tina and leaned in to hold her up. Eventually, Tina grew so weak, she fell to the ground and died. However, Trista and Teresia did not give up but continually tried to lift her. They managed to get Tina into a sitting position, but her body was lifeless and fell to the ground again. As the other elephant family members became more intensely involved in the aid, they tried to put grass into Tina's mouth. Teresia then put her tusks beneath Tina's head and front quarters and proceeded to lift her. As she did so, her right tusk broke completely off, right up to the lip and nerve cavity. The elephants gave up trying to lift Tina but did not leave her; instead, they began to bury her in a shallow grave and throw leaves over her body. They stood over Tina for the night and then began to leave in the morning. The last to leave was Teresia."

That's fucking heartbreaking. Now imagine that happening to over 200 elephant families. Yeah, I'm getting a bit teary-eyed.

I also got my spider from a guy who knew nothing about her but her previous owner wasn't as bad as this guy sounds.

There was a cobweb spider living in one of my house plants during the winter. When the colder weather made gnats and mosquitos scarce, out of curiosity I took a "string" of cooked chicken breast meat and put it in the spider's web, to see if it would treat it like prey. Later I saw it "gnawing" on the meat, now air-dried, with its fangs. It fed on it regularly. Later I got a tiny piece of cooked lamb, and also put it into the web. The spider by far preferred it! I also noticed that the spider had also been gnawing on the stem of a leaf of the plant and the venom from the gnawing on the leaf killed the leaf and once it was dry it turned it a funny shade of orange.

Spiders can eat vertebrates (mice, chicks) but they usually eat them pre-killed because a mouse or whatever can be extremely dangerous and could give the spider a nasty bite right on the face. Some tarantula keepers have fed their tarantulas small cooked portions of beef and they do eat it (you have to take out what's left though) so your little spider probably ate the meat you gave her. As for chewing on the plant, I don't think she did that, spiders have no interest sinking their fangs into something they can't eat (or something trying to kill them)

oh, I saw her doing it, though. I think it was for water. Spiders do funny things when they're "desperate". That meat got awfully dry. I still have the leaf and stem here (dry) and there's marks all up and down the rib of the stem where the two fangs of the spider punctured, like spider fangs do.

Whenever I watered the plant, she'd go down and get a drink, though!

Predators gonna preditate, herbivores gonna herbivate.

If people could just understand that, the world would be a slightly better place.

If you truly believe in Scientology then you will not cannot continue to associate with non-Scientologists, this includes family members. Why? Because by continuing to associate with them you are supporting them supporting Xenu's enslavement, rape and murder of the human mind.

I'm not saying to just stop talking to all the non-Scientologists in your life without any explanation. That solves nothing. You need to educate them about Scientology and then give them an ultimatum. If they are worth keeping in your life they will choose Scientology.

These are the same people that will loudly condemn extremism, violence or discrimination based on gender, religion, sexuality or lifestyle yes?

If the said extremism, violence, discrimination etc. is coming from the other side? Yes. If it's coming from their side then it's entirely justified and is a means of having the voices of the people heard and groups in other cities should take notice and rise up themselves.
