It's been said before, but for many, having their house burned down would typically be a reality check. It'd be a time to really weigh what is important in life, concentrate on that and rebuild from the wreckage.

Chris takes that "rebuild" sentiment to mean buy more Legos to rebuild his deluded high school fantasy. Glad to see all that money going to a good use.

When Will Wright suffered a house fire, he had to rebuild his life and all his possessions. This inspired him to create The Sims, one of the most popular games of all time.
When Chris suffered a house fire, he rebuilds his high school complete with people who could give negative two shits about him.

There's a guy outside my office, about 33 years old, longish hair, with some kind of mental impairment, that sells street newspapers to support himself (a street newspaper is a publication put out by a charity to help homeless people, since many cities prohibit panhandling, but by selling newspapers homeless people are technically employees of the charity and thus will not be hassled by police or security. The vendor buys the papers for a nominal sum, say around $0.25 and people usually pay $1 or $5 for each paper. This helps the vendor learn about managing his finances and gain some employment skills).

Anyway, Bob was very happy today. Turns out that after three or four years of selling these papers at this corner, he's saved enough to apply for a subsidized $600 a month one room apartment. He plans to apply for a job at Kroger then, since he will have a permanent address.

I was feeling pretty happy on my way home, thinking about people who experience hardships I can't even begin to imagine and who manage to overcome them.

I get home, login and read about Chris and his fucking legos and how much money the ungrateful bastard has spent on toys under precarious living conditions. That certainly put me in a bad mood.

I can't even get upset at him anymore. He's devolved into a useless, very dangerous 6 year old. I hope, for his own good, that he's maxed his credit cards already and that they manage to keep a roof over their heads. I doubt Chris would survive a month outside, selling newspapers to support himself.
Congrats to Bob!!!

Oh and this is weird and pathetic but it's Chris so whatevs.

YAY BOB!

Don't forget the "spends thousands" achievement Chris must have received.

"Spends thousands of tax payers money" Diamond encrusted Gold plated Jade Trophy. Sony is pleased.
So instead of using all this money to fix his real home he uses it to fix a fake recreation of his high school. priceless.
I could just imagine Chris actually buying insurance for it and the rest of his Legos.

Don't forget to Fatty the Lego high school is more real then the actual high school. It's no wonder he's so desperate to rebuild it, how can he hide from reality if it's all melted.

Given the thousands he's burned on goddamn brand-name toys, would it be feasible that if he'd spent all that money towards fixing 14BC it would have long since been able to support life again? Granted, to Chris, 14BC really meant nothing to him other than being where his sanctuary of a room was located and maybe Patti's doghouse grave/memorial.

Speaking of whom, unless I'm missing something, there is no Patti or Patti-chan at all in Chris's Lego fantasy land. No Bob, either, but Chris barely even mentioned him as the 'founder of CWCville' whereas Patti was the only pet Chris ever cared about to the point she was included in the comic as Patti-Chan. As far as I can tell, there isn't even a replica of the doghouse anywhere to be seen, much less a dog of any kind. Does he even remember her, or care about keeping her around, or has he done something unimaginable and moved on?

Patti was part of Chris's home life. She didn't go to school with him (at least, as far as I know.) Besides, Patti is too busy eating the souls of Chris's enemies to hang around his fantasy high school.

Assuming he can plan that far in advance?

Bob is present. Chris represents Dead Bob Lego™ as having white hair and angel wings. You can call him The Negotiator.

He spent almost entirely credit, not cash. I don't think you buy building materials from toys r us / babies r us, or fingerhut.

CWC Yep I'm on TV survived the fire, if you can see it in the bag below the melted Lego he's holding.
Gives me hope that other shit survived too.

What are those white/yellow/black things that are on that bookshelf in the first picture? They are all the same width and height so they aren't books, are they photo albums? I'm thinking it's most likely Pokemon card binders but that is an awful lot of binders.

Also, in the bottom right of the first picture you can see he clearly put some kind of Mary Poppins thing facing outward, what is that?

I believe the yellow is BASF brand blank VHS tapes. Back in the day their boxes were yellow. Chris's room was chock full of them.

Not unless Chris is attempting to build this

He can just pretend that his credit card debt is really just a mortgage then... because the amount of credit he'll need to spend on legos to build that might as well be one.

Well, I was sort of factoring in that dream house he also built as well in his fantasy creations.

Ah, thanks.

I meant the value of everything he's bought, would it be about the same figure as how much would be needed to rebuild 14BC?

So from that video I gather that dead angel Bob is negotiating with the principal in order to get Chris friends. That is so sad on so many different levels. What a strange way to honor your father.
Something tells me that after 32 years of just being himself, Chris is immune to terrible smells.
I'm sure that if he doesn't like the way someone else smells be it BO or perfume he would let them know all about it.

Also does anyone recognize the page being pointed to?
Not sure if you're asking, or drawing attention to it, but it's the cover of the CWC Yep I'm on TV :) DVD.

EDIT: It's apparently in multiple pics.
