I bet that rental smells lovely with all this stuff in it. Whomever is renting is going to be thrilled when they have to rip out part of the carpet and re-paint walls in an attempt to mitigate the stench. I wonder how the deposit situation works?

I'll bet the paint and carpet were brand new before Charb moved in. The owner will not be happy about having to redo it again!
Normal people would be careful to keep a temporary rental house in good condition, but the Chandlers don't deserve a nice house, since they'll just trash it anyway, and they don't care.

Agreed. From what we've seen it's not a bad place. Bright, nice look carpeting. Wonder if State Farm will pick up that tab?

I meant the value of everything he's bought, would it be about the same figure as how much would be needed to rebuild 14BC?
I dunno, I can't imagine that the cost to gut and renovate 14BC is any less than $30-40k, or MULTIPLES OF THESE. And if it was a complete demolition instead of a renovation (maybe only salvaging the foundation) then it would easily break $100k unless they chose a smaller replacement house. If Chris was spending his $12k/year :tugboat: on stuff that would retain its value, then maybe over the past 10-12 years, he could have come close. But the resale value on old PSTriple games and soiled Lego probably isn't great (especially now that they're smoke-damaged too). As others have pointed out in earlier threads, the rebuild cost that they had in their insurance policy is a huge variable in how much they'll have to pay out of pocket.

No, Chris doesn't tosses any of his toys away, never.
No, he did throw out his anal beads, remember? :tomgirl:

You'd be really surprised how valuable obscure and rare Legos can be worth. BrickLink.com has prices from independent sellers selling everything from parts to boxes to manuals and everything in between. Chris could have cashed out selling some rare pieces but he had to go and light everything on fire instead.

Chris spent $800 to make a lego high school, then 2 months later he burned his house down destroying his $800 lego high school.

That was the "at least" amount of money he spent the first time. I think the range was 800-1200 because people couldn't decide if he'd bought sets or just certain expansion packs. And that's just THIS Lego Highschool. Chris has since made another and has made vague references as to wanting to build another. He also has several other big money sets that people have noted in his pictures. I think, overall, it's been estimated that with just the Lego we've seen or heard of, Chris has spent well over $5,000 in Lego.

CWC Yep I'm on TV survived the fire, if you can see it in the bag below the melted Lego he's holding.
Gives me hope that other shit survived too.
Same stupid grip he holds his pencils with.

I'm aware of all of this. I'm just saying. He spent beaucoup bucks on lego shit and then promptly burned his house down. It's just funny to me.

Thanks for trying to explain shit to an oldfag though.

lol, Wasn't trying to explain it cuz I thought you didn't know. It was more like... omfg Chris wtf. MOST people, as I'm sure you're aware, might take months-years trying to rebuild/rebuy what they've lost to a house fire because they stuff they lost are material items and they want to make sure they have the money to live. But Chris? He loses $1000 in Lego and promptly spends another $4000 to make up for it. And that's just Lego... wtf else has he bought that we don't know about? Video games? Consoles? Personally, I think he's bought these other things, but I don't think he can really get enjoyment out of them because Barb's always around. She's probably watching tv and he's playing with Lego. That's why he's buying them all.

Probably would put it up for above retail price. Waaaaaaaaaaay above.

"MINT CONDITION KEURIG COFFEE BREWER. ONLY SLIGHTLY SMOKE DAMAGED AND A LITTLE BIT OF SCORCH MARKS. NO LOWERBALLERS"
"Fresh, Good Condition"

Maybe a really, really autistic version that lacks any of the creativity and opportunities for the characters.
AutiSIMs - They never take care of their needs and will constantly be unhappy.
