There's two types of 'conservative' guys.

#1 is your 'good old boy'. He comes in multiple flavors, from redneck to preppy. He played sports in high school. He has a lot of friends. He doesn't spend a lot of time whining online. And he doesn't have a problem getting girls. He's not conservative because he's bitter--he's conservative because that's how he grew up. His views will be shaped accordingly--the working class Catholic from Boston version of this guy will be pro-union, and the oil magnate's son from Texas won't be. He fits into his environment.
#2 is the type who would've been a numale in an alternative universe. He's a loser. He's the type of guy who says women are shallow when they say they're not interested in guys who are fat and don't wash their hair. He might be an atheist, but he also might be a pagan or a trad cath (there are an inexplicably large amount of trad cath converts who are this guy)--but you won't find him at your local Southern Baptist church even though they're conservative, because that's for normies. He holds views people around him think are weird, on every topic, and he doesn't know when to shut up about them.

For all the MGTOW bitching about "Trad Cons," they are the ones that tend to have functional marriages and lifestyles. Even if they have difficulty with women, they aren't likely to blame all women, much less whine about it online. Are there problems in these communities? Sure. But their "conservatism" isn't LARPing, but a way of life.

As for the latter category, you're right in saying that these guys would be "numales." I remember when Fedoras were considered "male feminists," and were derided as such ("m'lady"). The resurgence of "conservatism" online is the result of many of these guys feeling embittered that the deregulation of the sexual market place didn't result in them getting a Stacy. They want the benefits of conservatism (male leadership) without any of the responsibility (being a decent provider, monogamous).

Also, good call the appearance of "Trad Cats" online in recent years. There are a number of Twitterati and YouTubers who definitely fall in this category. Traditional Catholicism became appealing to those who were previously neckbeards and fedora tippers out of the idea that they would find a "trad gf" at their local parish. I have yet to see any of these "converts" actually get laid.
 
I was shocked when the trad cat convert guy I know got an attractive also-convert girlfriend recently. He posted a photo of them after mass with her in a chapel veil and the caption '1953 or 2019' and I wanted to say that nobody in the 50s would've tolerated his awful beard, but I did not. I have a draft of a thread about trads because they're all exceptional, but there's so much going on it's hard to write a good intro post.

The other thing about traditional Catholicism is it appeals to white supremacist Americans who are Europe fetishists, which is a lot of MGTOW types. Again, you'll never see any of them becoming Independent Fundamental Baptists, even though they are almost always Quiverfull, i.e. 'have lots of kids to Make America WASPy Again', because that's a plain boring American thing with too much denim. They love the decadence of Western culture when it's cathedrals and men in lace. A lot of them are monarchists, which is a weird stance to take in the US. You can also see their raised Protestant bias shining through when they whine about the lack of religion in public schools, even though the Catholic school system became widespread in the US because the public schools were pushing Protestant beliefs so hard.

Plus, unlike with Baptists, being celibate is seen as virtuous, so your inability to get laid will be praised.

This is the best summary of the new "Trad Cats" I've ever seen.

They tend to dump on Protestants, supposedly for being too lax and susceptible to commercial capitalism. However, these are the same guys who will tweet pictures of anime girls ("Franco-Chan," anyone?) and white aryan women in wheat fields. I think the real reason is that most conservative Protestant denominations look down body pillows and such, despite not generally considering masturbation a sin.

One more thing before the thread is derailed: You're also right about it being a cover for white supremacy. Despite being supposedly adherents to a religion that is universal in scope, these guys talk almost exclusively in terms of Europe. The Trad Cats I know were virtually silent during the murdering of Catholic parishioners in Sri Lanka. Heck, most of these guys want a higher wall than Trump does. You would think they would want more Catholic immigrants to the United States. Nope: they're all too brown.

Well, that depends on the church. Most mainline Protestant denominations still regard it as a sin, as did the early Reformist pioneers like Martin Luther, while some, like Anglicanism and the United Methodist Church, don't really have an official position, or, like Lutheranism, are split on whether or not its sinful. Luther actually saw masturbation as worse than heterosexual rape, as he saw rape as "in accordance with nature", while masturbation was, in his view, "unnatural". Catholic theologian Thomas Aquinas also thought masturbation was worse than rape. In general, there is disagreement about whether or not masturbation on the whole is sinful, or whether or not there is a healthy, "correct" way to practice it within a Christian lifestyle/worldview/context, since the Bible never speaks on the subject of masturbation explicitly. Some hold that masturbation itself is permissible, but pornography and sexual fantasies are not. Funnily enough, I've never heard anyone argue whether or not masturbating to fictional characters (i.e. hentai), is sinful.

I only disagree because the underlying social conformity and shaming that is inherent to Eastern culture doesn't exist in the West. Be it virtuous love of freedom, or selfish desire to put yourself at the head of the line, American, if not Western culture, has proven incredibly un-tamable by the mass-shaming that keeps the Japanese in line and obeying the system and deferring to authority and elder institutions even as things grow more bleak around them.

It's not that globalists didn't try, it's just they didn't succeed against the dominant "FUCK YOU" gene that is present in the US' sociopolitical DNA and has resisted all efforts to breed it out with social tinkering encouraging citizens to dispense with borders, entrepreneurship, private arms ownership and hurtful jokes that make fun of others. When you get called a cog, either openly as a means to break your will to not conform (corportism) or metaphorically to recruit you (communism) the knee-jerk response in this nation has historically been "Think so, huh? Try to FORCE me to move with all the other gears when I don't want to and see what happens"

And trying to convince the populace there is some higher order/purpose/national identity they should follow before their own families and wallets has never taken root either. The closest you could argue it ever came to succeeding was under the heavy religious influence of the 19th and 20th centuries, and even THAT couldn't stop a Civil War from breaking out, or the Protestants and Catholics trading barbs across the road at each other....

It's probably why MGTOW is mostly a Western phenomenon. One might point to Japanese grasseaters/herbivores, but they don't seem to have the same blatant hatred of women that MGTOW has.

In defense of @Duke Nukem , I think its more in reference to the West's growing culture of hedonism and sensual gratification that would make it easier to make a population docile. Whether or not America can actually be lulled into that sort of state remains to be seen.

Most Americans do have a broader sense of "nationalism." However, rather than being just "blood and soil," American nationalism is also rooted in ideals such as individualism, free enterprise, political freedoms, etc. I think that's why you see most WN's not even bother with "fixing" the United States, and just go directly to a new, hypothetical ethnostate. That "FUCK YOU" element in American culture would make trying to create such a broad conformity difficult that would be needed for such an ethnostate.

Oh, totally. Do recommend In the Closet of the Vatican. And then there's Anglo-Catholicism, where you can have all the fun outfits and perfume while being openly gay (at least in the US--in the UK you still have to be 'spiritual friends').

But I was thinking more about the parishioners, who love talking about tradition, how much they hate gays and troons, about how men should be men and women should be women, and also they want the priests to be as over the top as possible. Pretty sure I've seen people saying that Vatican II (the conference that removed most of that stuff from mainstream Catholicism) was a secret gay plot to destroy the church. C'mon, no secret gay plot would involve making men wear ugly polyester short sleeved shirts all the time.

The tradcath shit is all a bandwagon LARP, put on as a coping mechanism by frustrated sexual deviants. In other words, moralistic therapeutic deism. They are the megachurch boomers they hate. Probably worse because at least evangelicucks don't want to fuck anime furries.

There are SO many whiny trad guys online complaining that they can't get a girlfriend. A lot of them can't even talk to a girl irl. They talk about how they're 'discerning' their 'vocation' which also means 'pretending to be interested in joining the priesthood as a way to explain why you're still single'. I even saw a seminarian call them out on Twitter once for this--he said authentic discernment involves action, including asking girls out.

There's also way more gay Trad Caths than you would think, inasmuch as the number you would think there would be is approximately zero. I read a poem by one of them once about Jesus and it was porn in poem form. It was uncomfortable.
