This is one of those games that look decent, with a lot of details in the environment which is nice, but it looks so busy that i can't see what's happening half of the time, maybe it's the color scheme but everything seems to blend together at times.Chronoscript announcement:

I'm sick of the genre in general. As least the animu ones tend to have passable graphics.I'm sick of anime girl metroidvanias.
They really do not.As least the animu ones tend to have passable graphics.
If you're talking about ranged metroidvanias I can't really think of many 'recent' ones outside ofThey really do not.
I am sick of melee-based MVs and "souls-like" mechanics though. Where are the Axiom Verge (the first one) and Metroids knock-offs?
I bought Ghostsong a while back and got filtered by that ogre with the gigantic flail. Worst part is, I got the save point behind him backwards and apparently that save point is the reward for beating him. The game's too grindy. I'll probably finish it eventually but I won't be doing repeat playthroughs. If you're talking about ranged metroidvanias I can't really think of many 'recent' ones outside of
Upcoming metroid knockoff Moadra(Release date: never ever) could be something that's up your alley, also Crowsworn(Release date: also never ever) could be interesting to you if you like the Hollow Knight artstyle which I do.
- Souldiers as the ranger class, but it's a very flawed game
- Blade Chimera, but it's a very short and up until the secret true boss a very easy game
- Guns of Fury, but it's a flawed game
- Ghostsong, but it's a game I really disliked on account of leaning heavily towards the soulslike elements
For those who haven't played it (you can easily thanks to emulation), Comix Zone is a testament to what genuine creativity can do for a pretty simple game.30 years later and we came back to Comix Zone
