A problem I have is that with each new installment, it looks like they're trying to justify BB's actions

Morally gray warmonger -> Betrayed by America -> Desperately trying to find a purpose even if it makes people hate him -> Saving the world from the real bad guys

Not sure if anyone still uses this thread but does anyone feel sort of a "atmosphire" whiplash between MGS4 and Rising? Now I know, I know, made by different people but all these nanomachine and cyborgs feel a little out there even for MG standarts. Its like a sudden change of genre to the point its difficult to see Armstrong in the same universe as The Boss and Ocelot.
Anyone feels the same?
You know that theory that attempts to explain the ridiculous cutscenes in The Twin Snakes by insisting that it's Otacon's retelling of the story?

It would be kind of adorable if MGR was Sunny's retelling of the World Marshal incidents. She'd totally brag to her kids about how cool Raiden was.

I’ve heard a version of that where the theory is that the Twin Snakes is a vr simulation of Shadow Moses that Raiden is being trained in.

Whooooooaaaaaaah, wait, when did this happen?! It's been awhile since I played the game but holy shit I don't remember anything that brutal happening!
I just remember after you finish chapter two and all the "Big Boss is watching you" propaganda is removed Miller says something about this apologizes. I think he means just how badly the parasite outbreak was with soldiers opening up on each other and the rescue unit even before Snake arrived on scene and learned he had to purge them.

I always liked that explanation it completely changes how I feel about the cut scenes. I love the idea of there being so many retellings of Shadow Moses incident that everything just escalating to the point ending up the Twin Snakes. I can just picture Raiden believing this is how it really happened and getting a little disappointed when he meets Snake and he doesn't back flip away from Vamp.

Miller and Ocelot are just written really weirdly in V

I remember someone, I can't remember who atm, commenting that Miller and Ocelot seem like they switched personalities since Miller is the one who's all too happy to torture people while Ocelot is the one who's holding him back. This is despite Ocelot being infamous for his torture methods and Miller generally being a chill person.

I would say Ocelot was putting on a facade but the problem with that is that in literally every game he’s in Ocelot’s putting on a facade and he always acts like.... well Ocelot. Hell even in MGS4 where he suppressed his own personality in order to create Liquid Ocelot, the alternate personality exhibits many of the same traits and tendencies of the original Ocelot

I read somewhere that Troy Baker tried to slip into the sadistic Ocelot personality at times during recording, but he got a death glare from Kojima. So it was kinda Kojima's fault that Ocelot was playing tuba in the shit parade.

So.... where’s the Metal Gear Complete Collection? We got pretty comprehensive collections for castlevania and contra so why not Metal Gear? If this happens I would want it to include every Metal Gear game (and yes that includes the NES games, Ghost Babel, Twin Snakes in addition to the ps1 original, portable ops, and the acid games

There was the Legacy for the PS3 that had every major game up to Peace Walker. It's still $30 even after all these years, which if nothing else is a good price.

If they're going to re-release Metal Gear, it'd need to have V and Rising if nothing else.

I’ve heard people say that MGS4 would be troublesome since it is heavily reliant on the PS3 hardware and has quite a bit of product placement.

I'm also concerned with any future porting of MGS2 and 3 given how reliant those games are on pressure-sensitive buttons. 2 especially since so many actions rely on the pressure sensitivity.

I know they were ported to Xbox 360 and Vita, but I haven't played them and I can't imagine them feeling as good as on PS2 or 3 control wise.

Also i never understood why kojima had sutch a hate boner for portable ops and made big boss even more of a retard for not understanding the boss
In 3 and PO its made clear that big boss interpretation of the boss will is: she got betrayed by the goverment, so im not letting another soldier experience the same.
Then comes peace walker with snake somehow forgetting the boss message and getting mad that the ai based on the boss choose suicide over nuclear armaggedon....even though the boss already did that in 3

I got the HD collection a few weeks back on 360. I’ve only played through 2 on the collection so far and it was a pretty good port

I'll go as far as say GB is the best 2D Metal Gear. It's unbelievable that it was made for Game Boy Color, because the game is so smooth and feels like a much more refined Metal Gear 2.

One of my pipe dreams that will never come true is that Konami makes a sequel to it since it did end on a cliff hanger.

To my knowledge the game was never released on the 3ds virtual console (unless it was only in japan or Europe)

Eh I’m guessing it’s a pretty easy game to run on an emulator
