of course eva suit will be closed, if they dont fuck it up too much it will be solid. the original is a fucking classic for a reason.
The Japanese still like putting sexy women in their games, seducing Snake is a large part of EVA's relevance in the story, and if there's any series that gets away with chesty female characters quite often (even when the reason is bullshit *cough*Quiet) it's MGS. Don't worry.

It will be censored on Sony platforms, however.

Meanwhile in the original she looks a lot more androgynous and gaunt, and her eyes are piercing and kinda strict. Like seriously she almost has a David Bowie thing going on.
The heart of Metal Gear is: if you can make a David Bowie reference, you gotta.

Also Boss has to be kind of gaunt, blonde and pointy-faced unless you're going to redesign Baby Ocelot, too.

I legit would have preferred a proper remake of MGS1 and 2, but I think Konami knows that they can't plan multiple remakes beforehand as it is way too risky, so they chose Snake Eater as the 'quintessential' MGS experience (gameplay, story, characters and settings) and, truth be told, you can play MGS3 without knowing stuff about the rest of the series, you'd miss out on a lot of references but you can still enjoy it as a great Cold War era stealth action game.

According to an IGN article, GameStop "leaked" the MGS3 Delta release date to November 17th 2024, and frankly it stinks.

Hmmm... if only we had some kind of important dates relating to main story of this game...

MGS3 is my favorite one to play but it's not my favorite of the series, that's MGS2.

Snake Eater is a great entry level game of the series, but it's because it played it safe and didn't make the story convoluted like Sons of Liberty was. Snake Eater is easy to follow. MGS2 is a mess that can't be understood in just one playthrough. At least that's how it was for me as a kid.

Except like 9 years later Quiet's actress now says she hates the role even though she was all about it when it released. Also Kojima has made new games and there's no more sexy ladies, the current year has caught up to even perverted Japanese men. Of course Quiet, the BnB unit and Paz are all examples of really skeevy or shameless shit anyway. BnB are all traumatized weirdos and the 2nd phase is purely fan service. Paz is underage (as far as we knew) and Quiet's twist doesn't make me ashamed of my words and deeds. Snake eater being heavily inspired by bond did sex right and made Eva a good femme fatale.

Ground Zeroes is also very much undeserved gratuity. It doesn't seem to be going after black sites since the game makes little mention of them, especially with skullface not even being American affiliated, but rather just comes across as Kojima wanting to abuse this character. It's not shocking for subject matter but because it makes me disgusted by the director's poor taste.

MGS2 is definitely his magnum opus when it comes to not just fully using games as a medium to tell a story but also effectively giving a voice to Kojima to tell his players some meaningful things in interesting ways without feeling forced. Its clever its thought provoking and its Kojima not just being weird for the sake of it but doing so in a complete and cohesive package.

That said MGS3 is no slouch on themes, characters, writing, and of course gameplay, it has more gameplay than any of the first 4 games and still some of the most detailed and fleshed out stealth mechanics in any game. The survival viewer is a bit of a slog but it sells the survival setting and was a true innovation of its time also making the game more "immersive" through the grounded nature of how detailed wounds, weight and hunger impacted gameplay (time stasis aside).

Adding animals into MGSV and then NOT being able to tear into them like Thanksgiving turkeys is the game's fatal flaw. I don't care if Venom Snake doesn't share Big Boss' voracious appetite, he's not a damn anorexic.

C'mon you're seriously telling me I can shower in this game but NOT eat?

Yea I didnt understand why stamina and also injuries werent there when theyd be such a good fit for the persistent design. The lack of any kind of health system is particularly weird. Also injuries exist but they become irrelevent after you get the bandana which is like... mission 6? Way too early and no alternate choice.

Also animals having NO use? I cant ride goats, throw snakes at guards or deploy the war bears? Whats the point.

God I love that art.

MGS2 is my favourite as well. The music, I love Big Shell as a setting, and it's the first game of the series that made me tear up. That fucking E.E death scene where she looked 1:1 to my sister.

i'm scared that the better movement will break the game if nothing else is changed. i hope they make the ai at least more fitting for this to counter the improved movement.
That's concerning too that Snake is gonna be so OP for the level design. They would need to make the enemy AI way more observant to balance it. No more quick shooting bullshit from MGSV.

It appears beyond the map, and cutscenes, it's a brand new game. So I'm sure the enemy patrols will have new gimmicks.

Because Kojima isn't a good game designer and was more focused on making a map than an actual open world game.
The Japs never make good open world games.

One thing I just realized that gave me a nostalgia boner is the enemy troops in the gameplay shown are the same voice lines and grunts they were in the original. It's gonna be so awesome playing that.

This is how remakes should be. It honors the original without going at it with a fucking hatchet. Sure you could spruce this up like REmake, but this is nearly on that level and that says a lot.

Again, I wanna be cautiously optimistic but I'm actually excited for this and I haven't been for a game in a very long time.

remake had the luxury of being directed by and produced by a big chunk of the original team, on a console that was a huge boost in power and having 4 other games under the belt; they knew what worked and what did not. the original became a relic because the remake replaced it on every aspect, unlike the others that missed aspects and either replaced them or outright removed them.
this one plays it safe, unless they royaly fuck it up with the gameplay vs ai it will work out.
(are the areas still segmented? i can see the game falling apart when the areas are connected)

MGS1 was always my favorite game in the series closely followed by MGS4 which I know is an unpopular take. Say what you want about MGS4 but that game certainly had the most fleshed out, in-depth and intuitive combat system in the series, I was still discovering new things I could do on my second and even third playthroughs.

MGS4 is great. I replayed it last year on the PS3 emulator, and it's a solid (no pun intended) experience. I remember on PS3 I got the game the last week before they shut down the Online.

The Yakuza games don't count as full open world, but the Kamurocho map on its own shits on every open world slop Ubisoft has pumped out in the last 15 years.

I don't think it's unpopular to say that MGS4 played great.

The problem was there wasn't *enough* to be played IMO. It's why I get pissed at both MGS 4 and MGS V. There's something *there*, but its true potential isn't realized.
